This is THE farmers market to stop in if you're in the area. Even in mid April, they had some fresh produce, whereas the other local farm market had none and snipped at us when we asked if they had produce as if it was an unreasonable question. And Pennings has everything -from nice gift items, to fresh baked goods, including bread, to a great garden center. I was especially impressed with their native plant offerings, lots of options among perennials, for example in a small smaller size, a little easier for the pocketbook, and some amazing soil options, including mushroom compost, which I've never seen anywhere. And the staff was lovely. It was nice being there on a weekday afternoon when it was quieter. I'm guessing on the weekend and in season & apple picking time this place will be hopping. read more

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and there were employees directing people to where to park. The farm features large lots with ample parking and options to visit the market, where you can purchase ciders, donuts, and more. There's also apple picking, a beer garden with two food cart options (Jamaican/ crêpes), and a section with farm animals like goats and chickens. As you head up there are more food options and the full cidery where you can also buy cider we opted for the $24 cider flight and some individual ciders (the peach fuzz was our favorite) there are also three food trucks (hot dogs, sandwiches( chicken tenders fries), nachos and from the cider areas you can order pizza ($12-16) pretzel, etc. Lots of seating options some people bring their blankets and sit by the grass, by this area there's a live music section some face painting for children, and a petting zoo. Overall definitely worth checking out! It's right across the Shoprite plaza in Warwick NY. read more

My wife, kids, and I stopped here on our way to drop off our oldest son at camp in New Jersey. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon, so the place wasn't crowded. Even though we live nearby, this was our first time trying the food. My wife ordered a burger, the kids had wings with truffle fries, and I went with the fish and chips. We also tried their apple cider out of curiosity. The food was solid all around--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Nothing blew us away, but everything hit the spot. Such a cool place . The had so many Knick knacks and lots of desserts . What I love is that they have small businesses in here too and sell them . It's really nice . Started the day at Wawayunda and found our way here after as it was a beautiful day out. Walked around the property to get a sense of what each area had. Made our way to the back and ordered a seasonal cider tasting and an order of garlic knots. Took a while for the garlic knots to come out but they were tasty and huge. Was really disappointed in the cider tasting though as the only one we had with any distinguishable taste was the ginger beet one. All the others just tasted like carbonated water. We were still hungry so we made our way back down and sat at the table. Ordered the tasty sandwich which was a tomato sandwich with some mayo spread on sourdough with what I thought was stale no salted chips. My husband ordered the cod rubeun and he thought it was tasty. Before leaving, we stopped an picked up some items from the farmstand-donut peaches, lettuce and corn. Love this place. Been coming here for a couple years with the family usually after skiing trips. The food is great, produce is fresh, amazing butter, and delightful ice cream. I just was not impressed. My mom and I split a hummus plate with "whipped feta" and a wedge salad. The feta was by no means whipped. It was a block of feta broken up and compressed together. So not as advertised unfortunately. And the salad just was not that great. The farmers market had lots of options but was very expensive. Also felt harassed by one of the older women working with the dream catcher tattoo. The farm itself is very cute. Trivia Poor Form: When you call two days ahead for a reservation for Trivia Night on Thursday, you're told someone will call back to confirm. Never got a call back, either confirming or letting you know you are actually on a wait list, so that you can make other plans. I came here in October, and they had all of the pumpkin set up in the front, and then, in the back of the building , it looked like as if they were in a pumpkin patch field. They close the grill whenever they want. I went on a Saturday and they said the grill was closed at 7:30pm. That's unacceptable!

I've come up here quite a few times to pick up fresh fruit, baked goods, and of course, fudge. I've never had the food however that's inside there, and it was a very good experience. my wife and I shared a bowl of mac & cheese and they had lumpia which wasn't unexpected treat. Someday I'll come here for the full food experience, but for now I guess I'll have to enjoy all of the other foods that they bake and sell. read more

Came in for a quick bite to eat while out on a drive thru the Warwick area. Pennings food does not disappoint. We ordered wings and a New England clam chowder and it was out almost right after we had put our order in. The wings were so juicy and flavorful and smothered in just the perfect amount of sauce. We went in an off season so we didn't get to see much. The farm workers were really friendly and were able to walk us through what their summer season looks like so we might come back next summer. They offer their own produce (apples, apricots, eggplant, nectarines, peaches, peppers, pumpkins, squash, sweet corn, tomatoes and zucchini) or produce from neighboring farms. I also got to see their small store with pickled items , chips , dried fruit etc with their logo on it. During the summer the Market is much more of an entertaining local country experience than just a shopping trip, offering a farm-to-table style Cafe, Pub, Beer Garden, Ice Cream Stand and Garden Center. It was great to see their products and even though it was winter you got to see some of the apple orchard layout they have. Make sure to visit the Pennings Farm Cidery tap room and production facility located on the hillside directly behind the farm market. read more

There are tons of local, fresh produce to choose from and is a great place in Warwick to go for a walk and admire the quaintness of the farmer's market. Everything is reasonably priced and there are things from local tomatoes, to dairy, to jars of apple butter and beef jerky. I think pennings is awesome but it's gone from a local spot to a borderline tourist attraction over the past 5+ years. Prices have skyrocketed and during the fall it's almost impossible to visit because it's so crowded. Still though, it's an amazing orchard, cider and store. Horrible! The kid that was behind the ice cream counter should be ashamed of himself. He sees a ton of people online with children and could care less and says he's closing his window. Meanwhile, nobody came out to tell us not to stay in line and their website says that they close at 8 PM it's 6:25pm. When I said something he yelled back some garbage that it's not his job. Yes, it is your job. We are at your establishment. You need to cut the line and have personnel there to control people getting on line so they don't wait unnecessarily. Can no longer trust Pennings for an honest deal. Went there about a month ago to get an order of french fries at the beer garden. Pennings is known for the best fries. Placed the order with a very friendly hostess and in about ten minutes we got the fries. I have been waiting about 2 months to get to Pennings for these fries and was so happy to finally get them. When I opened the package I knew something was wrong but was starving for fries so we ate them anyway. They were skinny little things that looked like some crap fries from Shop Rite. I went back inside to ask the hostess what happened to the regular fries? She then told me that they ran out of the good fries and the fries I got were substitute fries. Thanks for telling me that you are going to charge me for the good fries and then give me some horrible fries that look like they are from McDonalds. Keep losing customers Pennings and see how that goes. These days every customer is important. read more
