I ended up at Bellvale Farms Creamery after accidentally crashing my friend's bachelorette weekend, which honestly feels very on brand for me. I had never been here before, so I went in completely blind, but the second I got out of the car, I understood why people come here. First of all: parking on BOTH sides of the street. Say less. Nothing ruins a cute little ice cream trip faster than circling for parking while your will to live slowly leaves your body. Then there's the smell. The scent wafting through the air should honestly be studied because it had me floating toward the building like a cartoon character following a pie cooling on a windowsill. I'm not saying the aroma dragged me in against my will...but I'm also not *not* saying that. Inside, the shop is set up in an "L" shape, and they have the flavors posted both outside AND inside, which I deeply appreciated because nobody needs the chaos of 14 people trying to read one tiny menu while pretending they're ready to order. They let you sample flavors before committing, which is dangerous for someone like me because suddenly I become an ice cream sommelier. I ended up getting Bellvale Bog and Calf Trax and let me tell you: absolutely worth it. 10/10. No notes. And somehow it gets even better once you walk back outside because there are picnic tables with a view that is genuinely stunning. Like, annoyingly picturesque. I always try to stop here when I'm in Warwick in season. I think my presence has the uncanny ability to call the rain regardless of forecasts. I love that. As everyone runs inside or to their cars, I tend to relish the solitude the showers bring with a delicious cone and a beautiful view. If I lived closer, I would schedule visits on rainy days. I never get the same order twice, but I haven't had anything bad yet. It is a lot of ice cream. I try to go on an empty stomach. The lines can get crazy. Although parking can look like a doozy on busy days, surprisingly people drive as if they have sense once up there. I haven't worried about myself or my car getting hit, which was my concern when I first started visiting and saw what looked like chaos in the parking lot and along the roadway. Went here with my dad on Wednesday July 16th 2025 to get some ice cream. Got there and there was hardly no line, which was surprising. They had lots of people working there, which probably made any wait smoother. We probably only waited 5/10 minutes for someone to serve us inside. I decided on the cookie dough with gummy bears in a cup, and my dad got the bellevale bog in a cup. Server who took care of us was pleasant, and we paid via cash. I waited for about 1/2 hour with friends but it's great the menu is outside so unless you taste test and change your mind once you get in the building, you have plenty of time to figure out what to order. Came here after a day of apple picking in Masker orchards. A good sidetrip especially in the company of kids & ice cream loving adults. Shocked by the long lines but it gives us time to think of what to order. There are menus posted outside & QR codes where one can scan with their phones. It pays to be vigilant especially if having multiple orders Price is fair only 35 bucks for 5 double scoops. Also one can mix 2 flavors in one order. This is one of those places you drive out-of-the-way to get to. They are voted by some as the number two ice cream in the United States and it's easy to see why. They have been making ice cream for years and you can tell they have perfected the practice. We have driven out of the way twice to go and have ice cream here. The first time my husband got a root beer float and he really enjoyed this. They also make the root beer. I have gotten two scoops in a waffle cone both times. This Warwick favorite never disappoints. There's that gorgeous view over the valley, the Appalachian Trail hikers together with grandparents/ kids and baseball teams. It's an experience. The ice creams are available in rare Warwick only flavors like coconut almond chocolate, and Great White Way. Depending on the time of year the line for the shop can be extremely long BUT waiting on the line is definitely worth the wait ! There is a parking lot but it can get full quickly, again just depending on the time of year you go! They have seasonal ice creams and you can buy pints of ice cream to take home! This cute little shop is open from April 1st - October 30th. Summer time and fall are my favorite times to go because of the view and weather while you're enjoying your ice cream! It can definitely get crowded making it hard to find a spot, especially during their peak times (around sunset). This goes the same for their long lines which have gone out the door and I've had to wait 30+ minutes. If you want to avoid the crowds/long lines, I would go before sunset. The staff is friendly, and the service went by relatively quick. Service rate 8/10. Inside the ice cream stand is where you place your order. It's a small plain facility with no indoor seating. There is outdoor seating with a few tables and long benches, not many though. Despite this, the view from the ice cream stand elevates the ambience since you get an amazing view of the farm and mountains. In addition, you can watch the sunset perfectly. Ambience rate 9/10. I ordered a waffle ice cream cone with 1 scoop of the Bellvale Bog which tasted very rich and yummy. Plus 1 scoop of the Calf Trax which was also delicious. I asked for edible cookie dough as a topping, and they put it in a side cup since I ordered it in a cone (in a cup, they'll put the toppings directly onto the ice cream). I didn't like this since they used to put toppings directly onto the ice cream, even if it was in a cone. This new way made it tough to eat since you're so focused on the ice cream not melting, that you forget to incorporate the topping. Food rate 8.5/10. The prices for the ice cream are very reasonable (around $8 for my order) considering the taste and amount you get. We ordered a banana split and it was really good. I can't compare it to previous orders so only going by what I currently had. The scoops were a good size. Many toppings to choose from but it comes with cherries, whipped cream and peanuts. So just pick any other toppings. We got the maple walnuts, edible cookie dough and strawberries. I don't know how one person can eat this bc I certainly couldn't. The three flavors that we ordered were vanilla, strawberry and great white way. Everything complimented each other. So tasty. Named one of the best ice cream spots in the county, it's definitely my favorite summer spot for a scoop. They're usually open from spring until fall and close during winter. They have weekly seasonal flavors (cherry, pumpkin spice) and the ice cream is so creamy and fresh. Located in Warwick, NY on Rt 17A, Bellvale Creamery offers exceptionally great ice cream. The creamery is set on top of a hill overlooking a picturesque valley. As the summer season approaches the flavor offerings will grow, but right now the basic flavors and a few more exotic flavors are available. Me being a traditionalist has vanilla while my wife had Bellvale Bog (chocolate ice cream with brownie dough and fudge swirls). Since it was slightly cool today there was no line to get in. Come the warm weather expect to wait on a long line but the wait it well worth it. Oh by the way, the waffle cones are made on site and the aroma hits you pleasantly when you walk in.
