If this place wasn't by my hotel room in London, it probably wouldn't have been on my radar as a pit stop to get food at. Surprisingly, I ended up back here 2 times during my trip there. This place is basically a gold mine for people rushing to and from during the bustling busy days of a busy London lifestyle. Mainly servicing Japanese fast food to go in the forms of rolls, sushi, onigiri, bottled teas, and FRESHLY MADE warm foods such as Japanese noodles, spicy Katsu Chicken, varieties of Curries, etc. all in pre-heated bowls for you to either eat there or take to go. While on the quest to find some quick decent food, this place was packed with people lining up either eating at the restaurant or grabbing food to go. Imagine how a modern Japanese restaurant looks like with the tables lined up against clear long window panels surrounding the restaurant with high chairs for people with busy schedules to eat and go. The food is not bad... if you have no other options. If you are in a rush and cannot afford the time to sit at a nice restaurant for tea or an actual meal where you're served on nice plates and servers wait on you... this is the next best thing.

One thing is for certain is they are extremely consistent. There is something to appreciate about seeing a Wasabi, walking in and grabbing a small box and drink for a few pounds and it being exactly the same as the one you were at yesterday several kilometers away. It's the McDonalds of Japanese. I sure will miss them the most. I even dropped in on one in Birmingham Bullring and it was exactly the same as the first one I visited here in Knightsbridge. I can't wait to try one when I get back to LA and see if it's the same or not. That would be just something short of amazing if the consistency was the same as here in London. Honestly, if I walked by one back home before this trip, I probably wouldn't even look twice or think about out. But now, for bits n pieces, this is a must snack-a-roni for me. I'll be happy to report back if and when I do.

The only downside would be that there may not be any seats available especially during lunch hours. I would recommend anyone visiting London to try eating at Wasabi, especially if you're in for a quick, inexpensive and delicious meal.

It is located in the Japan House which has a shop and museum on the lower floors and this restaurant upstairs. We booked for afternoon tea on OneTable and they came out with the lunch menu which looked kind of pricy but we ordered the large tea platter which was full of tasty sushi and delicious snacks as well as a choice of tea or other drinks. I ordered the matcha and my wife ordered the sencha tea which were probably the best tea we have ever had. The service was pretty good but they forgot to give my wife a birthday desert (which was one matcha cake and one sponge cake with a candle) while they celebrated a birthday next to us. Not sure if it was a mix up since the booking said it was for a birthday or if she had a birthday twin next to us. Anyways, they felt bad and didn't charge for the birthday desert which was nice. We recommend this place for an authentic Japanese experience as well as their afternoon tea and to check out the free museum downstairs as it has rotating exhibits.
