    Happy Chihuahua

Very friendly and calm environment that my chihuahua was very comfortable with. Felt like I was leaving him w/family fir the grooming drop off! Highly recommend!

I love this place. I feel like I live in a small town when I call to make an appointment. I identify myself right off as "Paris's Mom". "Hi, Kristin" they say. Rocklin Family Pet Store recommended her and I'm SOOOO glad they did. They're cool about drop-in appointments. She really loves animals and does a wonderful job grooming Paris, a Bichon Frise, so a high maintenance groom. She let my kids come in and observe one day. She allowed my youngest to vacuum up the hair and even let him practice on Paris with the clippers (under her guidance). Everyone there is so sweet and good with the animals. Christine will even board my dog for me in her home. Wonderful top rated service with a small town feel. Love it!!!!

I'm so handsome after my bath and shave

The reviews here seem to be glowingly positive and I wanted to support a local business. Sadly, I was greatly disappointed. My concerns and reason for visit were consistently not taken seriously. For example, when I brought my pet in with upper respiratory issues, I was told "it's not that bad." Well, if ignored, it is actually /is/ that bad. Repeatedly, I sensed a hesitancy to treat my pets' issues proactively, and found the bedside manner here to be sorely lacking. I brought in my pet with symptoms consistent with an upper respiratory infection. Instead of any antibiotics, I was prescribed steroids and an inhaler, which were consistently ineffective. Unfortunately, I allowed this to go on for far too long at this vet and should have listened to my instincts. Three months into this treatment (still without antibiotics), I was told that since my pet didn't respond to steroids, "it's probably cancer" and told to get in with a specialist asap (and that it would be many thousands of dollars). I'll admit I do not have a PhD, but this doesn't seem like very scientific diagnostic criteria to leap to cancer. I fully acknowledge that the realm of veterinary medicine is vast and we still don't know that much about the body in the grand scheme of things, but being consistently ignored and then leaping directly to cancer seems like a stretch. I sought a second opinion at my previous vet, who agreed that leaping to cancer without diagnostics was kind of cruel to my mental health. They promptly issued antibiotics. I also scheduled an appointment with internal medicine elsewhere out of fear from hearing the "cancer" word thrown around. Sure enough, there was a bacterial infection that should have been treated with antibiotics. Due to the delays and not prescribing an antibiotic, the bacterial infection was allowed to go on far too long, resulting in bony destruction. Despite the vet claiming I needed to urgently get my pet in with internal medicine, we still experienced lengthy delays getting copies of my pet's medical records--unfortunately, many internal medicine specialists will not schedule an appointment with you until they've received the records from the prior vet, which just led to further delays. The poor communication, poor attitude, and poor bedside manner further tanked my opinion of my experiences here. Dropping the "cancer" bomb on me with no diagnostics--rude and poorly handled, honestly. I also felt like there was a consistent attitude against me wanting to see the pricing before agreeing to treatment. It should be noted that I agreed to the treatments, however, we all know that in the veterinary and medical world, sometimes there's sticker shock when you see the price. I'd prefer transparency. Asking to see the pricing before committing to expensive treatment seemed to earn quite a few huffs and puffs from staff and the doctor. Overall, my biggest lesson learned here is to get a second opinion, particularly when the symptoms are downplayed for far too long and then the diagnosis suddenly leaps from "asthma" to "cancer." Trust your gut. This is just one example (definitely the most expensive) of my experiences here, but they were consistent enough for me to feel that this was a pattern.

It was easy enough to schedule an appointment though I was very hesitant to pay their $69 fee that…read morethey will charge you before even seeing anybody. When I arrived at the vet, I was greeted by a receptionist who seemed overwhelmed as she was dealing with an angry customer over the phone and a full waiting room. As I sit there waiting patiently, I noticed a few ticks crawling around the waiting area after which I picked my dog up off the ground. VERY unsanitary. When it finally came down to checking in, I was told that I "called in to cancel" my appointment which I clearly did not do as evidenced by my presence and my taking time off to make it to my dogs appointment. They were unwilling to fill my appointment in a timely manner and had given me an option to reschedule. This place is obviously overbooked, understaffed, and impersonal, all of which screams production line $$$$. Based on the sanitation, unprofessionalism, and inability to make up for their staff errors, I would not recommend this place. You are better off going to a place with more personal, courteous care.

Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital - Dr. Kaur at a nursing home with kittens for the residents to love on!

Nomination for Veterinarian of the Year: Dr. Sukeep Kaur, DVM…read more Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital For more than fifteen years, Dr. Sukeep Kaur has been one of the quiet, steady forces holding up the animal‑welfare community in Placer County. Her impact is profound, yet she rarely speaks of it. She simply shows up--day after day, year after year--offering her skill, compassion, and time to the people and pets who need her most. Dr. Kaur is known throughout our region as a veterinarian who leads with her heart. She routinely provides free spay and neuter surgeries for low‑income families and for individuals who have no means to pay. She never advertises this generosity; she simply steps in when she sees a need. For many pet owners, her kindness is the difference between keeping a beloved companion or surrendering them. For countless cats and kittens, her willingness to help has prevented suffering and reduced the number of unwanted litters entering local shelters. Her partnership with Kitten Central--our nonprofit neonatal veterinary hospital--has been invaluable. For over fifteen years, Dr. Kaur has been the person we call when emergencies arise, when a fragile newborn kitten needs immediate intervention, or when we face a medical question that requires expert insight. She has never once turned us away. Her guidance has saved lives that would not have survived without her. One of the most meaningful examples of her community impact is her involvement in Senior Saturdays, a monthly outreach program she participates in with one of our board members. Together, they visit nursing homes and assisted‑living communities, bringing small, gentle kittens for residents to hold and interact with. These visits are more than a moment of joy--they are therapy. Residents who seldom speak begin talking. Those who rarely smile light up. Individuals with memory challenges become calm and engaged. Dr. Kaur handles each kitten with tenderness and each resident with dignity, creating a bridge of comfort between generations. Her presence transforms the room. Despite her extensive volunteer work, Dr. Kaur maintains a demanding professional schedule. She works four days a week at one Rocklin Ranch location and fills in at their other practice whenever a veterinarian is sick or on vacation. Most people would call that exhausting. She calls it relaxing. Her dedication to her profession is matched only by her love for the animals and families she serves. What makes Dr. Kaur truly exceptional is not just the number of hours she gives, but the spirit in which she gives them. She never seeks recognition. She never asks for credit. She simply believes that helping animals--and the people who love them--is her responsibility as a veterinarian and as a member of this community. I am certain that what I know of her contributions is only a fraction of the whole. Her humility means that much of her good work happens quietly, without fanfare. But the impact is unmistakable: healthier pets, supported families, comforted seniors, and a stronger, more compassionate community. For her unwavering service, her extraordinary generosity, and her deep commitment to both people and animals, Dr. Sukeep Kaur deserves to be recognized as Veterinarian of the Year. Her work has touched thousands of lives, and our community is immeasurably better because of her.

I took my dog to the Plaza Drive location in Rocklin earlier this week and unfortunately had a…read moredisappointing experience. The veterinary technician (an older woman with short hair and tattoos; I didn't catch her name) interrupted my explanation of my dog's bloody stool and assured me that the stool sample I brought in would provide all the necessary information. She told me that photos and additional details were unnecessary. The lab results later came back negative, but my dog continues to have blood in his stool, so it's possible that the additional information could have been helpful. The following morning, I was informed that the test results were negative. I explained that my dog was still experiencing the same symptoms and was told that the veterinarian, Dr. Stephen Harris, would call me shortly to discuss possible causes and next steps. That was yesterday, and I have yet to receive a call. The only communication I've received since then was an automated text message asking me to complete a survey and leave positive feedback about their services. I was also concerned about some of the charges on my bill. When I asked the Vet Tech about an "Ear Cleaning - Difficult" charge, despite my dog being muzzled and sedated during the procedure, the technician could not explain why it was applied. She ultimately changed it to a standard ear cleaning charge. The price difference wasn't significant, but it raised concerns about the accuracy of the billing. Overall, the lack of communication, dismissal of important information about my dog's condition, and questionable billing practices left me with a negative impression. I would recommend that anyone visiting this clinic carefully review their invoice and ask for explanations of any charges they don't understand. I don't even do yelp reviews except to help small businesses, but when they asked for a positive review after all that I decided to give them an honest one.

This showed me that she truly cared that the dogs she took in were a right fit for her boarding facility. Upon arrival I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. It was a luxury hotel for dogs. The facility offers radiant heat flooring, beautiful large expanded dog runs that are always open for the dogs to roam yet protected from any predators, with a constant fresh air flow, relaxing music, clean water, and much more. Lisa takes the time to get to know the dogs personality in order to match them up before putting them in their own space with other dogs. This was very important for me as I did not want my dog to be without "friends". The years of experience and knowledge Lisa has I found invaluable. The passion she has for animals shows in her work and in her beautiful facility. Hands-down this is the best Dog Boarding option in the Tri-County area if not further.
