Chris and his team were absolutely incredible to work with throughout our entire wedding planning process in Ithaca! I'm a detail-oriented person myself so deeply appreciated Chris' professional, highly organized, and fun presence throughout our wedding process. Chris handled so many components of our wedding - from the amplification for our ceremony, to cocktail hour music, to being our MC for the night, to the lighting, to the reception with live musicians. Everything ran so well and the dance floor was packed the entire night with guests from all walks of life and ages - family, friends, aunts and uncles alike. Before planning a wedding, I didn't realize just how critical a DJ is to making a wedding run smoothly. That person ends up being the key coordinator for the night - handling introductions, announcing and facilitating key components like first dances and speeches, and making sure the flow of the music engages all guests. Thanks to Chris, my husband and I were confident that each aspect of our wedding would be covered seamlessly. Chris also went above and beyond to make our wedding special. When we asked if he could help us find live musicians to perform alongside him, he sourced a drummer and several saxophonists for us. It made our wedding so unique, and afterwards, many guests specifically said how amazing they thought Washburn Entertainments was. Settle in for a long one, although the other previous 23 5-star ratings speak for themselves, I must add. Chris and his staff went utterly above and beyond for my wedding. Not only at the wedding itself but from the moment I inquired about him almost two years ago. During that long process, he always knew who I was, knew exactly when my wedding was and what we had talked about, and never forgot any detail at all. When I told him I wanted to make a slideshow for my mother and grandfather instead of a dance he said, "you've got a lot on your plate, would you like for me to make it instead?" OF COURSE I jumped all over it - all I had to do was give him the song and it was absolutely perfect and all three of us - my mother, grandfather, and myself were crying on the dance floor watching it. I changed first dance songs on him last minute - no problem. Needed our new song cut down and processional edited - he was on it! Then sent them to me on the agreed upon date to listen and review and, they were exactly what I had asked him to do! In fact, I wanted a fade out instead of a cut off and he was on it and on the day of we got our perfect fade out! He was perfect and spot on with our music tastes - an eclectic, strange range - playing disney instrumental before the ceremony, bluegrass and blues, elvis and michael buble and then almost entirely Rupaul for our reception (at least from what I remember!) there was enough for everyone! He was incredible at reading the crowd, spoke when necessary, and mostly just hung in the background making sure people stayed engaged and present. The highlight, BY FAR, is his use of TVs. He had taken footage of us leaving our ceremony, posing for pictures alone and with our party, and a little during our first dance which was so essential for me to have some concrete memories of the day. It all goes by so quickly, and I had a bit of wedding amnesia, and his video and pictures were essential to commit the day to memory. But OF COURSE we got all the raw footage he took in a Dropbox for us to review and use as we'd like. His staff were friendly, professional, Tori was just the right amount of professional and fun - I dare say she upstaged me at my own wedding with her sweet, sweet dance moves and I loved every second of it! Where do I begin. Having a great DJ/MC at your wedding is a fundamental, which I had no idea about. If you want someone playing a Spotify playlist, you're thinking about things from the wrong frame of reference. From day 1, we knew Devan C. was our guy. He took things step by step, did not overwhelm us with information, and really educated us on the process. I am a particular guy, I love music. Music is important. Devan asked us for a list of 10 songs, I gave him a 155 song playlist. But you have to trust the process. Trust that they know what they are doing, and that they have your best intentions in mind. Minutes before our wedding, Devan pulled me aside and said, this matters to me as much as it matters to you, I don't want to mess up. And you knew he was genuine about that. Now the intro and the MC portion of it were equal parts classy and fun. He did not make it seem tacky, or forced, or annoying. It was natural, in the moment, and incredible tactful, and we appreciated that because of the mix of people there (your buddies, and also your grandparents). Now, when the music hit, and you start out with a heater like Mase - Feel so good I had a rubber neck moment because I thought to myself, if this man is starting out with 109 MPH fastball, how is he going to follow that up and keep that energy for the rest of the night? I'm here to tell you, it was the most electric, vibe driven set I've ever heard in my life. I'm not exaggerating. Shirts came off, tears were shed, there were movements people's bodies made I didn't even know were possible. Any bad energy left from 2 years of a pandemic were gone, instantly. There was a pop-punk mix in that had the room belting at the top of their lungs. No joke, I understand the Beatles mania and the impact of Elvis, because there were visceral tears from how good this set was. This man mixed Spice Girls with Mya's Case of the Ex. If you're considering anyone for your wedding, just know, Devan and Washburn are absolutely THE team to help make your day unforgettable. I still don't have my voice, the friend buzz is palpable, and post 30, I may need ACL surgery for the dancing that we did. read more

I am a true believer that a DJ can make or break your wedding (or any event). It kills me when someone says "oh we just hired the cheapest one we could find. I mean all they do is play a playlist" - I'm sorry, but you are absolutely wrong if you believe this. DJs set the tone for your wedding/event. If you have a DJ that's there to just play music off a playlist you've created, there is a good chance you're not going to be happy with your event. We hired Chris because we wanted so much more than music from our DJ - we wanted lighting, someone to direct the crowd at all times & keep the event organized, fun introductions for our Bridal party, and of course, fun/modern music. Chris and his team delivered all of these services and exceeded our expectations. From our first meeting until the end of our wedding, Chris has been so fun and easy to work with. Our wedding ran so smoothly, the lighting was perfect, he recorded our vows for us (an awesome surprise!), sent pictures and videos from our wedding, and the most important part: our guests were dancing for three hours straight. Chris did not play one song that made people leave the dance floor. We had quite a few people tell us that our wedding was one of the most fun weddings they've ever been to, and I have Washburn Entertainment to thank for that. The fact that the reviews are all 5 stars speaks volumes. From the moment that Chris and his staff arrived on the property, they were fun and professional. My sister was the bride for this wedding and I was helping run the show before everything started. They brought the latest and greatest equipment. Set up super fast and instantly connected with every guest. I was surprised when 3 people showed up and I didn't know why he needed a staff. After the "party" got started...I realized it was needed. Tory and Chris made sure that we were all engaged having a great time and took awesome videos. From the tv's to the lighting to the inside family jokes...they made sure everyone had a great time. Chris Washburn is without a doubt the best DJ ever! My husband and I first got to know him during our college career when he would DJ at our favorite local bar. When we got engaged last year and decided to get married back in our college town of Ithaca, NY we know we wanted special Ithaca touches throughout. We reached out to Chris and knew from our first call we would be using him as our wedding DJ. His professionalism, attention to detail and the extra mile he's always willing to go for clients is outstanding. Throughout the entire planning process he could not have been more helpful. On the day of, everyone at our wedding was blown away by how great he is. We heard so many times that he was the best wedding DJ ever and it showed since no one ever left the dance floor! We actually ended up scrapping games, bouquet toss, etc. because people were having such an amazing time dancing. He also surprised us throughout the night with special touches, like weaving audio from our vows into our first dance, which blew us and our guests away. He is the nicest, most professional, hardest working and best DJ you will ever meet or use. Cannot recommend him enough!! read more
