First of all, I would like to say that I have been at Horseshoe farm for over 10 years! I can…read morehonestly say the review by rebel t was probably made because of her own actions! She is a young kid, that left on bad terms. Terms that she made by her own actions. In the 10 years I have been at Horseshoe Farm, I have never seen any of the issues Rebel t is accusing the farm owners of doing! When I first came to the farm and for several years after, there was a young black gentleman that would come to ride a few times a week. It was only after he graduated and moved away that he left. He was very happy here! And still stops by on occasion to visit with the owners! I would not call the owners prejudice. I have never heard them say anyting badly about gay people! And they would scrutinize ANY unknown person. It's their responsibility to know of all people coming onto the property. It is not based on race, or sexual orientation! I know for a fact that rebel t's horse had issues from day one being lame. It had nothing to do with the care she received at Horseshoe Farm. She was an ex-racehorse, who had a bone chip in one of her legs. I remember quite clearly pointing out to her owner on several occasions that she was lame. And her owner just brushed it off. I know for a fact Rebel t's horse was fed every day. I find it funny how Horseshoe Farm is known as "the fat farm', and the only horses that are thin are either an older horse, or horses that just came in from another boarding situation. And as far as the owners taking hay to feed their other horses, they have over 2500 bales of hay delivered every year for their own horses, and get monthly grain deliveries! They use quality hay and grain and give it to all of the horses depending on each horses needs. I rough board my horses, which means I feed them myself. But, the owners of Horseshoe Farm still keep an eye on my horses, and they communicate with me if they feel they need more (or less) hay or grain. Being at a the boarding facility, sometimes things disappear on occasion. While I am not going to accuse any one person of stealing, several items disappeared in a couple months span witch looks very suspicious. And maybe quite coincidental that we no longer have an issue. The borders are all friendly and will borrow or loan equipment. But only after asking, or being asked. Before you take the bad review to heart, you must consider the source. A young kid made the bad review for Horseshoe Farm well after she left on bad terms. I will review horseshoe farm on my own personal experiences of the last 10+ years. The owners of horseshoe farm have always taken top-notch care of my horses! I am what is considered a rough border. I do most of the work myself. Taking care of my own horses. And I buy my own hay, grain, and shavings. I must add, that I have a barn at my house and could have my horses there. I choose to keep them at Horseshoe Farm because I know they are well cared for, the owners are on property 24/7. I can enjoy horse ownership while having responsible and knowledgeable horse people take care of my horses if needed! The owners of the barn stomp on drama quickly! The boarders at the barn know they can always go to the owners if they have a problem! And in my experiences, problems are handled quickly and completely! If you are still concerned about a bad review and are looking for answers, I would ask local veterinarians and farriers in the area how Horseshoe Farm is. And how well the horses are taken care of! From my own personal experiences, in the past 10-plus years. I would give Horseshoe Farm a "5-star", "2-thumbs up", "A++" review!

I know for a fact she went to the judges to have a young junior rider DQ over a simple honest mistake so her team could get a advantage. It could have easily been handled by simple conversation. One of the worse cases of bad sportsmanship I have ever seen. I would never let any child or young adult train with her. Can't say enough good things about this place!!…read more I came out here with a group of 10 for a bachelorette party in October and we had an amazing experience! Cate, the owner was an absolute delight to work with and she was so helpful. I probably called 10 different times with numerous questions/changing the group size, etc. and she was so patient and accommodating. They provide the helmets and any additional equipment needed for the horse back ride. Our group was a divide of some experienced riders and some total beginner's, some of which were very nervous and afraid (myself included) and they were really good about helping us feel comfortable. There was a guide at the beginning and the end of the group. The ride was pretty long, about an hour and a half and we went onto the beach for part of it which was really pretty. We also did some advanced riding, called trotting, which was a bit scary, as a non-horse lover, but it ended up being fun! This is definitely a fun and different activity. I will warn that it is pricey though at 180$/person!

She has taken riding lessons in the past, but is really loving it here. The landscape is gorgeous! When you drive by, you can see horses playing and enjoying themselves. I love watching them in the pond - so cute! I would definitely recommend this farm to others, and my daughter is looking forward to continuing here with lessons once the camp is over.

Since I called ahead they put her with us because I am an advanced rider, and my friend has also been riding for quite sometime! They gave me a wonderful horse named murphy, because I let them know I could handle whatever... He was GREAT I wanted to take him home with me! My friend( who is about 5'2) rode a wild lil pony We rode western, and since we were all pretty experienced riders we walked, trotted, and cantered. So if you can ride, call ahead and let em know! I couldn't see what happened, but the sound and their reaction were very unsettling. A woman came out of the barn and turned out to be our trail guide. The man who first attended to us was kind and friendly, but he explained that she would be leading the ride. Unfortunately, she was not welcoming at all. She seemed upset, impatient, and aggressive from the start. I felt intimidated approaching her, and she made my friend nervous as well. When she told us to line up by the fence, her instructions were unclear, which caused confusion. My friend ended up going the wrong way, and I had to go find her. When we finally lined up, the guide was visibly annoyed. The whole interaction felt tense. During the ride, she smoked the entire time while on the horse, which I have never experienced before on any trail ride. She barely spoke to us, and there was no effort to provide any kind of tour, history, or friendly conversation--something I've come to expect from these experiences. Instead, she would occasionally yell things like "Isn't this relaxing?" or "Aren't you having fun?" while continuing to shout at us if we were too slow. She repeatedly told me to kick my horse to make him go faster. I've ridden before, and it was clear this horse was very tired and possibly overworked. When I expressed that I felt bad, she became visibly angry, stopped, and insisted I kick him anyway, comparing the horse to a car needing gas. I felt pressured and uncomfortable, but the horse was too exhausted to respond regardless. I chose to let the horse move at his own pace. We paid $50 each for this ride, and if the horse is tired, I'm not going to force it. The ride itself lasted less than an hour, so there was no reason for the level of frustration she displayed. Overall, the experience left me feeling uneasy, tense, and stressed rather than relaxed. There was something very off about the entire situation. I would not return.
