This was my first…read moretime out on a boat in about 7 years, and it was my first time snorkeling with sharks (and also snorkeling in general) ever. From the second we arrived at the dock, Charlie made my friend and I feel completely at ease. One of my favorite things about him is that you can tell from the minute you start talking to him that he's not out to exploit the sharks in any way. After tagging over 2,600 sharks, Charlie really just wants to share his knowledge with you and provide a deeper understanding of these animals. His heart is completely in the right place, and he is amazingly authentic and kind. And as for the actual shark-diving experience, it was genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life. We had EIGHT sharks around us total, and after a while, they came right up to us! I was nervous at first getting into the water, but after a while, you realize that the sharks are just more curious than anything and far more interested in the fish we were giving them. I could have stayed in the water ALL DAY. I would go back again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Charlie, for your kindness, patience, and natural teaching ability. I had the best day, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering this amazing experience!

We legit were hooking into 2 and 3 fish on a single rig. I caught sport fish until my arms were tired. After an incredibly active morning we switched over to Black Sea bass and were hooking in left and right. His deck hand was supreme and attentive to keep lines in the water. On the boat ride back she cut the fish into filets and bagged em up! He also offers shark fishing, shark dives, champagne sunset tours and a plethora of other oceanic options. A Westerly Gem -- We Had the Time of Our Lives! My friend…read moreand I rented a tandem kayak for the day from Watch Hill Outfitters, and we genuinely had the time of our lives! Harrison and Mike were wonderful from beginning to end. Harrison was patient and took his time making sure we had everything we needed, understood the kayak and launch, and had a general idea of the kind of experience we wanted. The launch itself was incredibly easy--much easier than several other kayak launches I've used--and before long, we were off with six glorious hours ahead of us. The tandem kayak was perfect for two friends looking for a little adventure, a little workout, and a LOT of conversation and catching up! It felt stable and comfortable and would be a great choice for beginner-to-intermediate paddlers. And what a beautiful route! We paddled through downtown Westerly and beyond, then eventually turned around and made our way past the Westerly Yacht Club, taking some time to meander through the estuary. Listening to the birds, exploring the little waterways, and enjoying the quiet and serenity was absolutely lovely. Six hours gave us enough time that we never felt rushed--we could simply explore and enjoy the day. When we returned, Mike greeted us with a huge smile and cheerful conversation while we returned the kayak to Harrison. And, of course, we had to spend some time with Ruby, the beautiful and lovable black Lab who appears to be the true overseer of operations at Watch Hill Outfitters. This is a friendly, local place with real personality--not just kayak rentals. They also have an enormous assortment of fishing equipment and accessories. Harrison and Mike made the whole experience easy, welcoming, and fun. Watch Hill Outfitters is a definite Westerly gem and absolutely worth the trip. We will be back!

The actual rental car was physically a disaster - these was quite a lot of cosmetic damage, . . . whatever the dents and scrapes were of no real concern to me, also there was A LOT of beach sand inside the car, but again no big deal. The bald tires, the check engine light on as well as the tire pressure monitor light on . . . were a big deal and quite concerning. I was renting for 6 hours and traveled a total of maybe 25 miles throughout the entire day just sightseeing, however the entire time I was driving, I was keenly aware of the bald tires situation and was uneasy, thinking about other drivers and having to stop short etc. so with that coming into play, my overall rating was much lower than I expected. If I was to rent again from Aldo's, I'd insist on a vehicle that would pass RI State Inspection, because I KNOW for sure those tires that are currently on that Camry, would NOT.

It's interesting there is a charge without a service being offered. Also, when unloading kayaks and equipment by the water there are "valet" boat launches that require you to move your car wether your finished unloading or not. Very inconvenient, stressful and expensive. I did a lot of research prior to going clamming on Ninigret pond with kayaks and there was zero information for rates on this venue. Sticker shock to say the very least. I will go to Ninigret pond again To clam. However I warn everyone now that although this place appears kayak friendly it is not a very friendly place for wallets or loading and unloading.
