Calling before I left home, I spoke with Diane about the park. She could not have been more helpful. Upon arrival, she remembered me. Diane is simply the best and such as asset to the park. I was the only one there at the time and she put the film on for me and afterwards, explained to me about the 12/24/1776 battles and the painting behind the screen. She explained to me the area and answered any questions I had. You can walk over the bridge and alongside the Delaware. It is such a peaceful place, made more special by Diane!!

A typical park. Much if it is open fields, wooded areas, hiking trails, and picnic areas. Great place to walk. This is the site Washington began his march to Trenton after crossing the Delaware River. There's a small museum but it closed before I got there. Be sure to go to the shoreline and see the site of the crossing.

This place is great certainly a breath of fresh air during this whole pandemic had to drag the kids out away from the video games today but definitely worth it I'd highly recommend

This park is the site where George Washington crossed the Delaware river during the war. Well besides that the park is real nice. You can sit by the river and relax. They have tours to take you around the park the tour guides are dressed in clothing from that time period which I like. They have trails around there too for jogging and walking. I also liked the monuments/towers on the site. You can also cross the bridge the have a NJ side too. The surround town is cute and also historic looking. Very nice park.

This is my spot no matter the season ! I am an avid runner ! My dog doesn't mind it either ! Beautiful views!

Love the spot for running, walking, or just taking my dog to meet friends. The scenery is breathtaking at sunset and the history behind it make it worth the time!

Very beautiful location with much history. Excellent tour guide and make sure to take pedestrian bridge over the Delaware. Nice display of type of boats used in the crossing.

If 4.5 was an option for this park, it would definitely be it. My ONLY issues with this place are that every bathroom seemed to be locked aside at the Nature Center (which opened at noon), and in the middle of wandering around for hours, that was no bueno for me. So to be honest, you might want to come prepared just pop a squat in bushes. The only other thing that bothered me was the police quadding around on the narrow trails where you walk (so watch out). Not that I have an issue with the man, but the man should be careful of who he might run over, lol. Other than that, I was in love with this place. I can't wait to go back in the spring when everything is green again. There are a LOT of trails whipping through the woods. I'm a huge fan of being in the middle of nature, working off my own instinct. Sure there were park maps at the Nature Center, but I decided to wing it. I romped around for a few hours and enjoyed the solitude of the leaves crunching beneath my shoes. I only saw a few people in passing through one of the most quiet walks in my life. Walking these grounds doesn't entail anything for the short winded. If you decide to hit the trails, it is extremely likely that you'll end up a little lost if you haven't been there before. I ended up lost, and it was awesome. Needless to say, if you like to walk- this is the place for you. I will absolutely come to this place again without a doubt!

Better for the outdoors activities than the historic, though the history is pretty good!

I've often walked the tow path from Yardley to the park and back, which is a great little hike and quite beautiful. The park commemorates George Washington's legendary 1776 crossing of the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War, where he and his troops marched on Trenton and captured the town from British allied Hessian soldiers. It features well preserved historical landmarks and a bunch of exhibits. Visitors can explore the visitor center's museum, which showcases artifacts, interactive displays and there's also a short film detailing the historic event. The park also offers guided tours of the McConkey Ferry Inn and other 18th century buildings, providing a glimpse into colonial life. I also have to mention the annual re-enactment of Washington's crossing, which is a must-see in my opinion. Overall, this is a very nice community asset and cheers to local residents who keep it vibrant and engaging after all these years.

Washington Crossing Historic Park is more than 500 acres, and it has several sections.) The Thompson-Neely Section includes the Thompson-Neely Bridge, the Thompson-Neely House, the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill, and a memorial cemetery (graves of Washington Crossing soldiers). The Thompson-Neely House and grounds served as an encampment site for part of the Continental Army in December 1776. So there's a lot of history here, and you can walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath to each of the sites in this section. It's perhaps not as organized as the main section of the park; there's no visitor center in this section, but it's not too complicated - there's parking near the General Sullivan Pavilion and the house and grist mill, and then you can wander to each of the sites. (I don't recall a map of the section anywhere, but each site is on Google Maps, and that's what I used to make my way between them.) I was at the park in the late afternoon, and I don't think the house or grist mill was open, but I enjoyed walking along the towpath to the memorial cemetery, the bridge, and to see the exterior of the house and grist mill. New Hope has a lot to offer, but Washington Crossing Historical Park is great to include on your itinerary for exploring the area if you want to take in a little local/regional/American history!
