They are withholding our deposit. it has been over 4 months since my daughter has left WISH housing and they won't return our deposit. I have called repeatedly and they say they are going to help and send the deposit back, but they don't. I am reaching out to IU to let them know that it's irresponsible to work with a business that steals deposits. read more

My school's internship program has partnered with WISH for years so none of us really knew what it would entail once we lived there. Don't get me wrong, the location is great & walkable to almost all of the monuments & metro stations. I stayed at The Congressional & so we were right next to the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, etc. However, there are major areas of improvement. First, we deposited around $600+ only to receive $200 back & they don't even send out a notice after your stay. Luckily if you remember your deposit, they ask you to sign up for this app for them to deposit the $200 back when we all thought it was going to be sent by mail. Second, I know construction is not entirely their fault but WISH shut off our water with last minute notice! I wish they gave us time to prepare for it to be shut off & it was annoying having to wait or use someone else's shower as we all had plans that day. Third, this is more of a personal preference, but I was on the top bunk & the ladder was a hook on so it didn't even touch the ground. I just felt unsafe since it was unstable and would shake when I went up or down. Lastly, a couple things didn't work. Our TV wouldn't turn on, they had a few broken washers and dryers, and our AC wouldn't work multiple times (inconvenient since we stayed during the summer & the weather is extremely hot & humid). I definitely think it depends where you're interning since this location is close to most federal buildings but I'd consider other options before going with WISH. read more

My institution has partnered with WISH on program housing; I have stayed there for two different years and perhaps got better treatment because of that standing business relationship. Location in Capitol Hill, which is great. The house is liveable, but gross. WISH needs to be prodded by tenants to fix things. Our bedroom and kitchen had exposed wiring when we moved in. Once came in to review black mold in the vents; denied there was any mold. Instead of reinstalling a drawer in our bathroom, they replaced the entire fixture, leaving a three-inch crack in the drywall that remained for a week. The decks are rickety and WISH just told us not to use them. Despite charging tenants "cleaning fees," the house was not at all clean when we arrived. Crumbs over the floor, food in the couches, grime and rust over the kitchenware that we had to get replaced. I don't walk anywhere in the house without shoes. Bathrooms have mold in the showers; fixtures tend to need repair. No bug problems, though. WIFI was fine, though tended to go out sporadically. Heating/AC is surprisingly effective/responsive except in one or two rooms. The repair staff are contractors, I believe, but I've never seen anybody over the age of 27 working in the WISH office. The office apparently does not give payment receipts; you must ask for one specifically over the phone. Contacted me twice about payments I had already submitted (hence why I wanted a receipt). It's expensive, but the location is good and I didn't have to worry about a 12-month lease for just a semester. With WISH you're paying (generally) for location and ease. read more

This review may sound dated, but okay, I saw that Yelp had this place, and I was like, I have to review this! I lived in a WISH (Washington Intern Student Housing) Woodley Park apartment for 4 months in the spring of 2011 (January to April) while I was interning in Washington, DC. I lived with five other guys, sharing a bedroom with one of them. The living situation is what it is, there are two bathrooms, so the mornings can be rough when you are trying to get ready for work in the morning. I was also in a bedroom towards the back, so we were awoken each Monday by the garbage trucks doing their thing. They were loud. Really loud. The furniture there is adequate for student needs. The photos you see pretty much sum up what to expect in terms of that. I liked that in the basement there was a computer lab that you could use at any time to get your work done. I definitely took full advantage of that. I guess I saw the laundry facilities are free now. When I lived there we had to pay to use the washer and dryer. The location was excellent. It is really close to the Woodley Park Metro stop, and is only a few blocks away from the National Zoo. Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle were also really close by. If you want to do some grocery shopping, there is a Giant really close to the Van Ness Metro stop, which is where I did 99% of all my grocery shopping. I also felt really safe and secure here. All the rooms and the building itself were key-fob activated, so you could not really get too far without it. The guards were also really friendly. So as long as you showed your ID when you walked in, they were always amiable to letting you through. Package delivery and mail were also really easy and seamless. Not to mention the guest policy if you had a guest stay with you (which I had). While not the most glamorous, it served my needs well. I hope it serves your needs the same. read more

Horrible!!!!!! The Woodley Park location has failed to provide us with adequate air conditioning on days where it has been 90+ degrees out leaving my space to be at the highest 85 degrees indoors. They have failed to adequately fix this issue. read more

Our daughter was initially going to stay at one of their residences. But her internship location changed, and we could not use their services. I canceled well before the deadline back in April via email paper trail and speaking to office personnel. We initially paid $625 as a placeholder knowing that we would get $200 back if we did not move forward with the summer housing. To date, and it is the end of June, several emails and phone calls later promising they were going to send a check for $200, nothing has shown up. WISH is not to be trusted. read more

I'm surprised no one has written a review of WISH housing yet, so here we go. First, do not believe the pictures on their website. While some of their exterior photos may be accurate, their interior ones are not. Most of the furniture and appliances are very dated! (This may not be the case in every townhome/apartment. I've seen some with flat screen TVs and better furniture) Housing is located in different areas, have radically different furniture and square footage but the rates remain the same. It just doesn't make sense. Also, they have a cleaning service that comes in once a month, while this is very convenient, the cleaners often move personal belongings around and leave your apartment door WIDE OPEN. This has not only happened to me personally, but to many other interns I've met with WISH housing. If you're coming out from out of state, like most interns are, WISH seems like an easy option, but for the amount of money you pay, Craigslist would probably be a much better option for housing. I have been waiting a really long time to write this Yelp review. This apartment building levels on being absolutely disgusting. I stayed at the Congressional Apartments in the Capitol Hill area of D.C. for their first fall semester. The housing is furnished with mostly interns and other college students staying at the place. With that being said the housing is incredibly gross. When I moved in there was stuff everywhere in the bathroom, black gluck all over the drain and it was just all around nasty. The A.C barely worked or if it did not correctly. The space is small for the price paid to stay the couple of months. In my opinion it is extremely overpriced and if you're looking for housing in D.C look in another direction. Multiple times from the apartments poor upkeep things were continually breaking and the water was shut off for the whole building multiples time with little to no warning. The office staff is also pretty unprofessional with little to no actual problem solving capability or actual customer service skills. Overall, 0/10. read more

I stayed at WISH at Woodley Park for a semester in fall 2017 and had a negative experience. I would urge anyone moving to D.C. to explore other options and not go with WISH just because it's the first search result. LOCATION: This was the one positive aspect of my stay. Woodley Park is a very safe and pleasant neighborhood, and it's conveniently located with only a short commute to downtown. Everything else was problematic. ROOM QUALITY/MAINTENANCE: The room was advertised to me as having been recently renovated, so I chose it over other cheaper options assuming that it would be in better condition. However, when I arrived, it quickly became clear that the apartment which was rented to me was not yet ready to be lived in. The markings of extremely shoddy/rushed renovation were everywhere, from uneven flooring to paint specks all over the furniture. Furniture such as the sofa was entirely missing, and the bad WiFi reception made it all but unusable. I worked to resolve the fixable problems by emailing WISH, but the response was often intolerably slow. I racked up heavy mobile data charges before the WiFi was fixed. The lack of counter and storage space had become a serious point of contention between my housemates by the time our island counter was installed, months after move-in. The poorly installed heater in my room, which woke me up countless times in the middle of the night with an extremely loud rattling, took nearly a month to fix despite multiple follow up emails. I could go on. COMMUNITY: I'm a very social person, but I found no larger social element or community at WISH outside of the people in my suite. During the academic year, many WISH residents are university students pushed into overflow housing, not interns, and they are typically not interested in becoming friends with people who don't go to their school. I went to a few of the social events, but the food/shirts typically ran out before I got there and people left after that. Beyond those, there was no lounge or other communal space at Woodley Park to meet people (unless you count the elegant but sterile lobby or the basement laundry/computer rooms), nor even something like a WISH Woodley Park Facebook group (perhaps they're afraid that if they create one, residents will organize and take collective action against them?). OVERALL VALUE: I by no means came to WISH expecting a luxury experience--it's student housing, after all, even at WISH's exorbitant prices--but these problems added up to a fundamental failure on the part of WISH to provide the basic services which were advertised to me and for which I paid. I just checked the photos for my location, and there's only one I disagree with. The rug on the lobby floor is waaaay bigger than the one shown. There are no bars on my windows or my classmates windows...I don't know where that idea came from. WISH has multiple locations, and I can only speak for Woodley Park. Woodley is a great spot to be. It's close to the metro stop, a 10min walk to Adams Morgan (bars/restaurants), and it's safe. The Woodley neighborhood has its own strip of restaurants just down the sidewalk from WISH, including a CVS. There's also a Giants just 2 metro stops north. I'm going to warn you now, WISH is dry. Go enjoy some of the great bars DC has to offer. Yes, the rooms will be a little different. DC is an old town, and you won't get cookie cutter apartments here. My program has a total of 3 rooms, and I wouldn't call any of them small. (Go to Europe, you'll learn what small means real quick.) The rooms at the end of the hall/building seem to have a little more space, but it's not much. Not all the bedrooms are the same size. WISH is fully furnished. You'll get a bed, dresser, couch, breakfast table, chairs, desk, microwave (I actually have 2 of those), pots/pans, dishes, silverware, and TV (yep, all 3 of my program's rooms have a flat screen). You shouldn't need to buy anything besides bedding and a towel (don't forget a pillow! I forgot a pillow). If there's something you need, WISH will get it. My roommates and I have requested a mixing bowl and a new pot, and got both. I will say the beds could be better. If you have a memory foam cover at home, bring it. Let's talk amenities. Free basic TV, free WiFi, a computer lab, free printing, and free laundry. Heads up, the WiFi is restricted between 6-10PM. You won't be able to use any streaming sites (Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Twitch, etc). It's so there's enough bandwidth to submit homework assignments. The staff at the Woodley location are WONDERFUL! They're always helpful and responded to all of our requests in a timely fashion. They even carried all my packages up to my room for me! I will say this, if it's 11PM and you want them to change a light bulb, you'll probably have to deal with it until the next business day. They need sleep too, and your light bulb is not an emergency. I 100% recommend WISH to any incoming interns in DC. read more

2 years at WISH housing, 2 terrible experiences. First year my daughter was placed in a basement apartment at Woodley. The filth was unbelievable and the stench of mold and mildew was overwhelming. There was some type of air conditioner in the room. When we turned it on, dirt started shooting out of it. The window in her room was at ground level and the workers outside the building were looking in. The elevator in the building was filled with graffiti and smelled awful. We demanded a new room. After many attempts, she was finally moved up to a renovated apartment. The following summer she found herself back at WISH in the International House. This place is even more filthy than the other. There are roaches! An exterminator came in, without her knowing, and sprayed the apartment. She came home to dead bugs everywhere. I know this isn't a WISH problem, but her roommates are completely irresponsible. Never take out garbage, don't clean dishes, leave rotting food in refrigerator. But what is a WISH problem is for them to address this situation. Never any inspections. I would pay more money and live anywhere other than WISH ! read more

All around awful. Really shit to be honest. People who work there and run the palace are very unpleasant. Water outages. Owerflowing toilets. Slow Internet. What more is there to say. Edit: I just thought I'd elaborate. A friend of mine had an 800 dollar shipment sent and there was proof that package had been signed by the staff and after they lost it they flat out said that there was nothing they could do. I'm sure if they could afford dozens of boxes of pizza every week then having a half decent apartment should be in order but they can't even do that. I'd like to say it felt like living in a 3rd world country but I think that even 3rd world countries would be insulted by that comparison. I lived in a WISH apartment for three months during my summer internship. I can't say how much it enhanced my experience! First and foremost the wish staff is always helpful. If I needed a maintenance request, if I needed a room change, or if I needed anything there was always someone to help me. Paul and Lauren are especially easy to work with! While there is always a "cheaper" option, WISH comes ahead of every other short term student housing organization in DC. Every apartment is close to the metro, every week there are professional development or entertaining events, and the location can't be beat! I could see the capital building from my window! If you see negative reviews keep this in mind. Washington DC is a city. There are going to be older apartments, there are going to be lots of people, and you will have a roommate. My school uses WISH housing for our internship program. They are well accommodating. I had to arrive early for my internship and they allowed me to move in a week early with an agreeable extra fee. I was in contact with Lauren for the early accommodations and she was very helpful. I originally went with a triple row house apartment, but later decided to move in to a double for an up charge. It was very last minute decision and I understood many spots were taken. However, Lauren worked with my parents and I to find an open spot. She found a room for me in the Congressional House Apartments. She worked with my parents while I was started my internship. My parents had nothing, but kind things to say about her service. I appreciate the extra effort she put in to help me and my parents. Thank you WISH housing! read more

I applied with this program 3 months in advance, and was given the run-around and ignored up until 2 weeks before I needed a place to stay. Nearly every email I sent to follow up on my application was ignored, every phone call that I made was answered with : "I will have an answer for you by the end of the week, it shouldn't be a problem." I found them to be extremely unprofessional and they were not responsive to my applications or attempts to communicate with them. Also the fact that their representative had me believing that there would be no problem finding me a place to stay until two weeks before my expected arrival date, left me in a very difficult situation. I would not recommend this organization to any intern, and highly suggest finding other arrangements if you would like a pleasant experience with professional people. read more

My institution has used WISH Housing since 2009 and found them to be terrific partners. They do business fairly (it is a family-run business) and respond to problems quickly. Yes, it is expensive to live within blocks of the U.S. Capitol building, and yes, WISH provides student housing and not luxury apartments. But my students wake up every day and see the Capitol looming over their front yard and when the dishwasher breaks a new one is installed the next day. One thing that may be worth noting: WISH deals primarily with a clientele that is not well-versed in the basics of neighborly living: college students. Sometimes WISH gets a bad rap because they gently enforce basic rules and procedures (all of which are clearly noted on the housing contract). In return, spoiled and un-savvy tenants do what they do well: complain. Again, I've used them for over five years and have been very happy. read more

This apartment is, objectively, a dump. Probably the worst summer housing arrangement I've ever had (and I've lived in post-Soviet countries). (Review refers to the Woodley Park building) - The mattresses feel like sleeping on sacks filled with Slinkies - imagine springs digging into your back all night long, no matter how you try to get comfortable. - Individual bedrooms are prison-cell cramped, with poor lighting - Decrepit, badly lit bathrooms with tiny mirrors, sagging shower doors, and ancient plumbing. - Netflix is blocked every weeknight from 7pm-10pm. I am not making this up. I'm not sure if it's a form of soft paternalism ("y'all kids better get your beauty sleep") or just a sign that the building is too cheap to buy adequate bandwidth. - Despite statements ensuring someone will always be present when doors are left open, during painting season I returned to find my door left open and no one around. The location - right next to the Metro stop - is very nice. But you are better off subleasing a real apartment or finding something reasonably priced in Falls Church. Before I begin, I'd just like to state that before I moved in I did not expect a super nice living situation with new appliances and tons of room. I expected an adequate situation for the money I was paying and a relatively comfortable space for 4 people. However, WISH housing was inadequate. The apartments were never heated or cooled well and were rarely a comfortable temperature. The apartments were small and ridiculously overpriced. My 3 roommates and I all shared 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom but paid about $1200 each per month (I know people living in much nicer apartments downtown with roommates who pay less.) The appliances included a toaster oven (not a real oven) and a "stove" that was basically 2 hotplates that did not work well. We had very little counter space for cooking. Whenever we plugged in more than a few appliances the fuse blew and we had to go fix it (this gets pretty annoying when it's freezing in your apartment because it's winter, so you have to chose whether to keep the space heater on or use the toaster oven because the fuse will blow if you use both at the same time.) Besides this, WISH took 3 times as long to get back our security deposits as they were supposed. Deposits were supposed to be mailed to us within 3 weeks of move out but took over 2 months. They also made us buy our own envelopes and stamps, which is half the work so no one understood why it took so long. Do not live here. You can definitely find a better place that's more affordable. read more

I spent the first half of the semester as an intern in DC living on Mass Ave. in WISH housing. We had a great experience with WISH, and especially Jean-Marie. She was incredibly helpful to us and very attentive to our requests. Yeah I lived at the apartments in Woodley Park this summer 2019. Compared to every other place I've ever lived, this has to be by far the worst. The pictures they provide on their website and media do not represent the true arrangements. Apartments are super small. Living areas and small and dull and no good. The "amenities" of the room such as tv, which is tiny and terrible quality, as well as the WiFi, decent at best, are not what I would expect for being as expensive an apartment as it is. The staff and workers running the building, not the student desk workers, but the actual wish managers are not very helpful, do not maintain a quality place to live, and simply don't really care about it either. I also found black mold growing in my apartment soon after moving in. The single best part about these apartments are their location in DC. Do not recommend. Please do yourself a favor, avoid this place at all costs, and search elsewhere for apartments in DC read more

I stayed in WISH both in the summer of 2013 and summer of 2014, and it was a great experience both times. The rent was definitely reasonable for a fully furnished apartment in DC, and the locations (Capitol Hill in 2013 and Woodley Park in 2014) were excellent. I had a couple of minor maintenance issues, but the staff was always quick to respond. I never had to wait more than 24 hours for repairs. The staff was generally very helpful and accommodating. The apartments themselves were both excellent. Very clean and well-furnished - nothing fancy, but definitely everything I needed. They were a bit small, but that's to be expected in DC. Definitely a good choice for anyone who is in the city for a short period. read more

I sent this letter to the gov't agency I worked for: Due to the lengthy background check process (and me not wanting to lock in housing until everything was 100%), I did not have time to come visit DC and evaluate my housing choices. I chose WISH because the duration of the lease was the same length as the internship, and, due to the fact the [gov't agency] suggested them in their materials, I thought it would be a safe choice (although pricey). It was a TERRIBLE decision on my part. When I walked into my "luxury condo" a day before the internship, I felt that sinking feeling in my stomach that I had been scammed. It cost me $300 dollars to repair the place until I felt it was "livable." While they promised me a furnished luxury condo, the only furniture was a 25 year old chair that I had to get removed because it was filled with dust mites. During my stay, I found out that there were roaches and centipedes inside the building (I had to buy stuff to kill the roaches). They promised to have working appliances for me, however, it took them one month to repair my broken stove. Additionally, when I read the "welcoming materials," I realized WISH went out of their way to try and prevent students from recovering their deposits by requiring a ridiculously inconvenient mailing process. I vividly remember a poor young woman (likely a rising sophomore in undergrad) crying inside her parents van, begging her parents not to make her stay there, while her parents yelled at her to get out and to stop being spoiled. First, I was mad at WISH, then I was mad at the [gov't agency] for suggesting such a place (fortunately, you are all such wonderful people that I quickly forgave the bad recommendation). I can honestly say that WISH has been my only unpleasant experience related to this internship. One last point I would note: a fellow intern of mine was ready to go to court with WISH, and I was strongly considering it as well as starting a social media campaign to prevent other interns from being scammed (he already had gotten an inspector involved; I was about to before I decided it would not be worth my time, as I was only in DC for 3 months and needed to focus on studying for the mpre/bar/cfa and applying for externships). I have managed properties in New York and Georgia, and I would never consider subjecting a tenant to the conditions WISH has (also, in New York it would be illegal), conditions which WISH so carelessly lied about in their fraudulent advertising. I strongly encourage you to do whatever you can to stop allowing WISH to use the [gov't agency]'s good reputation to lie to students who have enough trouble as it is facing a tough job market and student loans. read more

I stayed with WISH for a semester. Some of their houses are awesome, but some are terrible. I stayed in one of the less-than-perfect ones. They cram people into housing with outdated and broken appliances and furniture. The people who work at WISH are extremely unfriendly and act like everything is an inconvenience. I don't think they put much consideration into whom they choose to house people with. I had a bunch of stuff stolen from me over the course of the semester, and so did my other housemates. The houses and rooms aren't very secure, hence the stealing. Of course, they can't do background and personality checks on their tenants, but they could at least make the houses more secure, so everyone could actually hang on to their belongings, instead of having them stolen on a regular basis. My advice: stay in university housing or find a sublease elsewhere. If I could do everything over again, I would choose to live elsewhere. read more

You should only stay in WISH housing if you have too much money on your hands and enjoy dealing with incompetent people. I paid over $1000/month to share a room with two other people. I had MANY problems from the day that I moved into my room with the structure, appliances, and things getting fixed. Problems would sometimes be addressed by Wish, but usually not. The room was not prepared for me to move in, but our biggest problem was cockroaches and mice. I personally made note of it for management, but have not heard anything about a terminator until today when I emailed a complaint after seeing ALL floors had complained about it last night. Management does not consider themselves responsible for getting problems fixed, in my experience. They simply said that the wear and tear is due to the short-term residents that live there; but this is who they chose to cater to, and is not a valid excuse for such housing conditions and management problems especially considering rent expense. Management would not take care of problems. I would not recommend this for anyone. read more

Let me begin by saying that I, like many other out-of-state interns, came to DC without much of an idea what I was doing when it came to housing. My options seemed limited, but in reality I passed up on a lot of other options because I simply did not know they existed. So, I hope my review will prevent someone making the same mistake. It is important to understand that you are basically paying for the location. My building was located 3 blocks from my office on Capitol Hill, while most of the other interns that I worked with lived in Adams Morgan or farther out, requiring a long metro ride to and from work every day. The proximity to the Capitol, as well as most of the sites in DC, is a great advantage. Unfortunately, that's where I feel the advantages end. The apartment I lived in was the same one as Mike W., and the pictures you see are 100% accurate. The furnishings are old and antiquated, minus the flat screen TV in our living room. The kitchen is only wide enough for one person to be in, and it is also the walkway to and from the bedroom/bathroom. There is no dishwasher. Be very, very aware that if you choose a triple or quad occupancy room (which are the two cheapest options), you will be sleeping in a room smaller than a college dorm. Whenever one person would wake up, I would be up as well (as I am a lite sleeper). Again, be aware of this as you look into WISH housing. Single and even double rooms are significantly more expensive than triple and quad rooms. However, I would pay the difference in a heartbeat. All in all, the price I pay per month ($1,500) is rather outrageous for the living conditions (or lack thereof) provided by WISH. I would highly recommend Craigslist or Rent.com for other places available before considering WISH. Also, it is important to remember that you will be living with random roommates. This is not always an issue, but it sometimes can be. read more

It's been said a dozen times before, but WISH is too pricey. When I signed up with a group of four they gave us a "group discounted rate." Our housing location was moved four times, the last time was the day we were moving in. When we moved in, our group was put into the smallest rooms in the unit, and we later found out that we were paying nearly double what our other roommates were paying. When I approached WISH about renegotiating the price of our housing, they :cc'd my Dean, like he'd care, and accused me of threatening them and demanding money in some sort of childish effort to sully my name with my school. The whole situation was handled very poorly by them. They try to make you sign to an unenforceable behavior contract after they've taken your money saying you won't have overnight guests, bring alcohol into the house, have more six guests at a time, or do a number of other stupid rules that any twenty-something wouldn't ever agree to if they didn't make you sign to get your keys after moving you around four times. I will say, however, the staff that I've had regular interactions with are very nice. The location is great. And they do have events that are a decent opportunity to meet people, but those are all over the place in DC. And paying this much extra certainly isn't worth meeting a handful of interns. If you do decide to go with WISH, do yourself a favor and sign up really late. They give substantial price breaks before the semester starts up to try to fill their houses and they don't have a shortage of space. read more

WISH housing served its purpose. My experience, from what I've heard from other WISH residents was much better, and I didn't enjoy it at all. Pros: The Location: I was working in one of the House Office Buildings, and I was a mile walk from work everyday. Although my apartment was about 10 blocks from the metro, the location of the apartment was pretty great. The heat: It worked. We were here during the winter, and the heat was great for us. Cons: The deception: I was told that I would be placed in a triple (which is technically factual because in my room I have two roommates). However, I was splitting most of the amenities of the apartment with the other triple that was in the same apartment. We all had to share between the 6 of us, instead of just the three of us. The rooms: I was in a triple that was about 13x11. The room had three beds (two bunked and one in the middle of the room). With the rest of the furniture (a 4 drawer wardrobe and a small night stand) the room was very crowded. We had a small closet, but the closet door did not open very well at all. When I moved in, there was a small hole in the wall behind the door. My room only had one window and didnt let much light in. The bathrooms: My experience with the bathroom was really bad, but got somewhat better. When I moved in, the shower head was very leaky, which kept the bathroom very humid and helped mold grow. Before anyone used the bathroom for the first time, the bathroom floor was covered with lint and small hairs. The hot water worked great for one or two people showering, but it ran out very quickly. However, by the time I left the apartment, the shower did not leak and we cleaned the floor. So it was alright. The maintenance: Like I mentioned before, the shower head was leaky. We immediately reported it to WISH who said that they would get someone to fix it. However, it took more than a month for them to get someone in there to fix it. They also only stocked one of our two bathrooms with toilet paper (which wasn't the end of the world, but it made for some awkward interactions). WISH programming- I went to the first even and nothing afterwards because it was terrible. They ushered us into the second floor of the owner's luxurious apartment. They did not bother to coordinate the number of people there and the size of their apartment because it was more crowded than a concert. As a result the apartment was really hot and started to wreak of BO. There was free sodas and cheap food, too. Neutrals- The appliances: The fridge was very reliable, and had enough space for all of our food. The kitchen cabinets also worked well and were spacious. The stove top and oven was alright; occasionally the stove top chose not to work. The dish washer technically worked, but I could have done a more effect job of cleaning the dishes with a hose. The washer was great, but the dryer was ruined by former residents who didnt know to clear the lint screen. It took three cycles to get anything dry. It didnt cost us anything to run the dryer, but it was just frustrating. (Also the washer and dryer were in a closet in one of the rooms, so we could not do laundry while someone was sleeping) Verdict: I had an alright time in WISH housing. No, I would not use their housing again if given the opportunity. While I was living here, I constantly felt like they were robbing/scamming me. I didnt like it at all. For the price that they are asking, you could find a bunch of similar apartments in the same area for less money. read more

We currently have a son staying with them, the unit is deporable and they have no intent of fixing the problem. Location is good and thats about it. Staff says they will get something done but after three weeks nothing has happened. read more

The location was convenient and the staff nice. The furniture and atmosphere are similar to that of a dorm room. I would recommend signing up later in the semester though. My friends and I were proactive and signed up early and ended up paying twice as much ($2000 more) as our housemates, which was supposedly a group rate. I would recommend it but be aware that they randomly offer deals and don't offer them to everyone. read more

WISH housing is conveniently located near the metro and is a suitable place for any short term student interns in the DC area. The company also offers a number of promotions to get to know other interns for events in the area like Nationals tickets, WISH intern dinners, etc. I had a good experience overall. read more

I stayed at WISH before and really enjoyed my time there. They are very accommodating and kind. The houses/apartments are beautiful and for the pricing in DC, they have an extremely good rate. I would suggest and recommend WISH to anyone interested in staying in DC for a few months. A really great organization, in which you are able to connect with others staying in your house that are interested in the same thing you are, politics/government. As well as hosting seminars and forums, it is definitely the best place to stay. read more

DC is such a great city to spend time in. My internship was amazing and I had so much fun staying at my house, which I booked through WISH. I didn't know anyone when I moved here and now I have a set group of friends that I can't wait to stay in touch with.
