Got stuck here with family when the truck hauling out camper broke down due to the treacherous path to get to our site. If things couldn't be worse, it was 90 degrees with 100% humidity so we thought we could swim in the pool seeing as that is literally the only thing to do here. The staff decided to close the office and invite their entire hillbilly family and take over the pool area blasting country music. We even turned ours off the second they entered the area and made room for them. They were super rude and gave us dirty looks the entire time down at the office / pool area. It absolutely did not seem fair to pay $50 to park our camper here and not even get to enjoy the single amenity they had. I've been to some terrible campgrounds but this one was truly awful. Also, the highway is next to the campground and truckers use their Jake brake to Sloan down right by the site about every 5 minutes so don't expect peace and quiet. read more

Careful. The place is extra hilly, and the gravel is thin at the bottom of the hill. You may skin your knee like I did and lose your swim and hiking time. The pool was filled several inches below the ladder rung and first step. This is the only Koa where we arrived to a fire pit full of cigarette butts which were promptly cleaned out, two hours after I let the office know, when I called the emergency myself to request they be removed. We weren't walk-ins. There is ample signage to guide you to the park, updated baths and laundry, sunflowers planted throughout the park, but also Koa staff who say "sorry but there's nothing I can't do about that" when you let them know you're hurt, your patio fire pit is full of cigarette butts, and the pool is visibly more shallow than it should be. Wouldn't recommend this park as you have to go off road to get to your site. If you don't value your Rv and are willing to risk it all this is the place for you. You must go through a super tiny town before getting to the actual park. As you make your way into the park you are greeted with a sketchy road with low hanging branches to greet and scratch your rig up to your journey to your site. As you arrive to your site your power box will be sending out over 128-130 volt of electricity to your Rv to add. Keep on trekking to the next Rv park and save yourself a headache. My coach just got quoted for a $7500 dollar fix to get the scratches out and hopefully save the paint. Not scuff marks! Deep scratches. Also to add I let the front desk attendant know about what happened and there was zero concern but a oh well and the reason behind it was they just opened for the season .... If I was a business owner for this place I'd figure out how I could be of assistance in anyway to make it right. 50 bucks a night will now cost me more time and money. read more

This was a nice peaceful place they had a pool Which my kids loved playing in that also had a park but you have to be 10 and under they also had a sandbox where my kids where if they weren't in the pool. That also have a decent spot for your dogs to use the restroom and play at they even had a little walking trail for the dogs it was pretty. They people were very nice and friendly. The only real issue I had was the roads getting there but that's not their fault. The roads there are narrow and winding. But we made it just fine and we enjoyed our stay we would definitely stay here again. read more

My family has stayed at approximately 50 KOAs from Maine to Kansas over the years so I have a strong sense of what to expect and am generally quite happy with my experiences over the years. This KOA is an exception. As other reviewers have noted, the road to get to this KOA is treacherous. We reserved a 30 AMP site, and on arrival were told that because our rig is 50-AMP capable, they would not honor our reservation even if we used an adaptor and even if we agreed not to plug in at all. They explained that they have a sign in the office that says this. So, having gone down their dangerous road, we had to u-turn in their tight lot, and at 4 PM figure out where our family was staying that evening. We decided to drive the final leg of our journey home. When I got home, I checked my email for a refund. No such luck. This KOA should be de-franchised. read more

We have been traveling across the country from Texas to Utah and then Utah to Pennsylvania and we have stayed at mostly KOA's and this KOA was the worst of the worst, bad bathrooms with only 1 shower curtain and no privacy. This park also wins the award for most unlevel sites. You do have to go down a very narrow winding road through a neighborhood to get to this park, it looks like it's right off the highway but it is not. Also, the road noise will probably keep you up most of the night. We stayed here for one night and then moved to the south east Pittsburgh KOA which is much much better. read more

If this was just your layover for a longer trip then it's a fine place. We were there for 9 days helping a nephew build a pool deck. With a teenager, there was absolutely nothing for her to do. We swam 1 day. Had to share the hose spinet with the next door neighbor site 10/11 so no awning out, no carpet on the grass and the sites were gravel. Internet was horribly spotty and no cable. The plus side was there was plenty of wildlife to see. read more

We have stayed here many times, as there are literally no other options. They have a serious case of the "f-it's" that shows in many ways. The laundry was the low point this time. 1 of 4 washers "worked". One of the dryers would not stop when you opened the door - which I thought was kind of dangerous. The 1.1 mile Vance Station Rd to get to the park entrance is narrow and winding, full of blind curves with no shoulder. It feels much longer than it actually is, especially if you meet another vehicle coming from the other direction. There isn't a level spot in the entire campground. The park is on a hillside so some of the sites are terraced but none are level. I saw plenty of rigs with front wheels off the ground. Everything is on an incline so you have to go down the hill to get to the camp store, showers and pool, then climb back up the hill to get to your rig. Nice big dogpark. The pool was open and being used. Check-in staff was helpful and friendly. Our site had cigarette butts all over so they really don't clean the sites. The water hookup for every other site - the odd numbered sites - is on the wrong side. There's only one dumpster and it's at the bottom of the hill. Grass was cut but some trees need to be trimmed higher for tall rigs. They're not really big rig friendly and the road in is definitely not designed for big rigs. There isn't much in the area so for our overnight stay it was ok but we probably won't stay here again. read more

We resrved and paid online. Stayed 4-8. The store was closed and our papers with map and site were in the box, yay! The road up was steep and bumpy to turn around and go down to our site. Site was level enough to not unhook. The water standpipe and pump were plugged in and insulated for us. Being MN nice I pulled out the KOA map to direct a local pizza delivery drive to the correct site :) Pet friendly! The store was a steep walk or many steps down. Freeway noise and vibrations I barely noticed. read more

Unfriendly host, both on the phone and in person. Reserved a cabin; the chemical smell was horrible, like it was "bug-bombed" quite recently. No way we could sleep or eat in there, so we opted not to stay. I was told we would get no refund (same day cancellation), but I said the room was uninhabitable so all but $10 was refunded. I must tell you from the start that I am an AVID tent camper. One who prefers rustic camping, and at least camping completely secluded from other campers. Obviously, this campground was not going to be for me. For fun one weekend a group of us rented cabins here for Saturday night and then Sunday we went to the Renaissance Festival. If I were an inexperienced camper with children I would have loved this place. There's a pool, a play ground, and the cabins actually have cable TV and electricity. They were very clean, too. The bathrooms were also very clean. I just didn't love this camping experience bc every site is RIGHT.ON.TOP of each other. When camping, I dont want to be able to lean over, tap my neighbor on the shoulder, and ask to borrow some marshmallows. BUT--I just thought of this...is this place open in the fall? It might be fun to camp here in colder weather, in the off season. read more

I give it 2 stars only cause of the price. The price was right. However, the owners go from 11-3 for lunch the place is closed. And we wanted to stay one more day. So I called the number listed and no answer. So I left a message. The call me not because I left a message, but because are camper was still there. I proceed to tell this "Mark" that we wanted to stay another day and he say well why didn't u call. I said we did. And also stopped. He said why the Didn't u call the emergency number. I said isn't that for emergencies. He said well that is kinda is. Umm no it's not really. But anyway. He said that's fine. And hung up. Later I called to pay for it. And he said I already charged your card. Ummmm I didn't authorize that. The whole experience was not good. Rude owners and very steep hill. Not recommended read more

We slept at this KOA on our drive across the country from Colorado to Pennsylvania. We have stayed at close to a dozen KOA's during our travels and this one was by far the worst. We called to say we were arriving after dark, and they made no mention of the "construction" being done to the tent sites, leaving us with only the group tent area as an option, which was also under construction! At no point were we told it was a group site - we thought it would be like all other KOA's we've stayed at without own picnic table, fire ring, etc. Due to poor signage, we drove in circles looking for the tent area, until we realized we were to park between a gravel mound and construction equipment. Our "site" was a downhill, open field with no assigned picnic table or fire ring and was behind a pile of construction debris. We were next to the pavilion, where the lights stayed on all night, but it's not like we slept anyway due to the freeway noise. If the front office hadn't closed at 6pm, we would have requested our money back and slept elsewhere. I would not recommend this KOA if you plan to camp in a tent during their construction - we were extremely disappointed. read more

I should of read the reviews first. Great stop over place. Not if you are staying there 5 nights with 3 kids. Completely uneven sites - actually had a huge hole in the ground at the front of our site. High grass. The staff at the desk are nice but there really is nothing to do there. They say they have things but there is literally a pool, a playground for kids 10 and under and even then... it isn't much. There is a big checker set... if you are into that. There is a pavilion but it stores their equipment in it. And all you hear is the traffic of 79... if you are into that then you will enjoy. read more

Stayed here with a 40 foot RV towing a 12 foot trailer. Hilly and curved roads to get there off highway but doable. Highway noise at night but manageable. Our water was on opposite side of sewer so good thing we had a long hose. Great friendly staff. Clean bathrooms, laundry and site overall. Good internet. read more

We booked this KOA over the phone while making our way to Vermont. My first call was answered by a man who asked me to hold on and then set the phone down. I could hear another conversation during the 8 minutes I waited. Then they hung up on me. I called back and spoke with a very nice woman and made the reservation. We arrived after dark, it wasn't easy to get to, narrow, dark winding roads. Thankfully our motor home is only 30 feet and we don't tow a vehicle. Hooking up was also a challenge and the site wasn't level. We were looking forward to using their shower but it was not close to our site and it was down a hill. I would not stay at this KOA again if there was any other option. read more

For a roadside campground, this was really nice. Huge but limited number of tent sites. Highly recommend T6, as your tent is tucked down the hill from the parking area, away from everybody. Yes you can hear highway noise somewhat, but it did not bother us; the campground is located on a winding road in the woods...follow the signs carefully! The staff are very friendly and gave great useful information on local attractions (don't miss breakfast at the local diner, Krensies!). read more

We generally will go the extra few miles for a KOA, but this one wasn't worth it. Nearly impossible to navigate in a motor home.

Campground is very pleasant. Staff is great. Cabin sites are so s of best I've seen. Very good overall, especially for the area.

Nice RV park. Has a nice fenced dog run area. Which is kept very clean. Pool is good. The location is next the highway. But getting to the location can be a bit confusing. Make sure you follow the route. Staff is friendly and will guide you to your site. read more

You can feel off the beaten track at this KOA audit is situated in a valley between i70 and i79. So very convenient to travelers. The daily grate was reasonable and washrooms clean. Sadly the Wi Fi connection wasn't there. The Staff was friendly. read more

The restrooms were not cleaned or stocked at all this past Memorial weekend. They were disgusting.
