Our rooms were very nice. Beautiful view. Pretty quiet for the most part. Our rooms were on either side of the storage closet so other than them getting stuff from there it was really quiet. The suites are spacious. Full size kitchenette and a table with a booth style seat as well as a few chairs and a counter with the seat. Large bathroom with a walk in shower. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner as well. The desk employees were very friendly. It's not too far from the freeway. Lots of close by restaurants and other businesses within walking distance.

Great river view from our room

Small parking garage but a nice hotel. Life hack, park at the garage across the street for $15 a day and save $5. The rooms are super comfortable and basically small apartment living. The best part is all the options nearby and you don't have to be downtown (as of this review it's getting really sketchy there). The elevators here are painfully slow so just take the stairs.

The Hyatt House beds are comfortable and the apartment style is great especially if you are there for several days. The breakfast is included and offers eggs to oatmeal, buffet style. Parking is tight and runs 20 bucks. The location cannot be beat if you want to be in Southside. One of the challenges with this hotel is it seems like there is rarely anyone at the front desk.

Clean and large rooms. This hotel is located right on the river. Conveniently located few minutes away from the express and not too far away from the Carson st. Within 5 min walk you can get to at least a dozen restaurants and bars. Huge Oktoberfest type restaurant is adjacent to the hotel in case you don't feel brave enough to explore. Parking onsite is $20/n but we had not problem parking across the street at a public garage for $15/n Expect a typical Hyatt Place / House continental breakfast. The man that takes care of the breakfast area do make sure everything is out and ready for quests. Hotel also has a small bar which is stocked with basic selection of liquor.

My Hyatt stay was comfortable and the location is great assuming you want to be on the Southside. The rooms have a living room area, basic kitchen along with the bedroom. There is breakfast that covers the basics. The coffee was even decent. If you want to work out there is a pool and a weight room.

I was a customer this week at Hyatt House in Pittsburgh (South). The hotel is a mess with construction, particularly the parking garage. My vehicle got stuck in a spot because the spots are extremely tight, and there is construction materials and furniture stacked everywhere. I ended up damaging my vehicle in two places. I then parked in one of four open handicapped places - the one furthest from the door. Told the clerk at the desk about my issues and her response was to chastise me about parking in a handicapped spot. She told me to move across the street to a public garage, its cheaper. I put my bags in my room to move my vehicle. The clerk called out to me and told me to disregard the notice on my vehicle. I went to the garage only to find another employee placing a tag on my vehicle stating it could be towed. Not a pleasant experience and will not return. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Housekeepers and breakfast attendant were disengaged and rude. Gentleman at desk at checkout was very personable. Difficult to sleep room smelling like fresh paint and carpet glue. Came to Pittsburgh for Memorial Day weekend. I've stayed at quite a few Hyatt hotels as we are Explorists. The hotel is average, and to be honest, pretty dated. The furniture shows a lot of wear and tear at the edges. The TV is old and not a smart TV. The shower door was also leaking. Everything was clean at least! The breakfast finally looks a little bit more like the old days. Everything is still prepackaged, but there is at least wrapped turkey sausage croissant breakfast sandwiches. There are also packaged sliced apples, muffins, make in your room pancakes/French toast, granola, and cereal. Definitely more choices than some of the hotels I have been to lately. There are plenty of seats in the lobby to socially distance from others. The parking lot is pretty tiny, you might run into a situation where you double park someone's car in, and you would have to give your car keys to the front desk/valet guy so that they could move the car when the person on the inside wants to get out. So I feel like that was a bit annoying, it's not very easy to self-park and get in and out easily. You also have to buzz in every time and tell them your room number to get the gate to open up. Was stuck at the gate for 5 minutes waiting for them to confirm and open it up today. I wish that they just put a parking pass on the room card so that we can beep in. Like the marriott we went to recently. The front desk staff were very nice at night. But our hotel key card took 3 times to get right to open the door to our room. And at midnight it was annoying but was thankful that we were the only ones needing assistance because the place was pretty busy since there was a wedding reception here held in a tent outside. At the end of it the day, they had what we needed for the short trip.

When we travel we like to stay at Hyatt if I can book a room. We belong also to the reward program they offer. I collect the points for free night stays as so many now do. I like the Hyatt brand hotels and enjoy staying when possible. We booked a room at the Hyatt House on the South Side as a birthday gift to celebrate an evening out. Dinner and a movie. We only booked one night, but I will definitely make another night soon. Clean and well maintained building. The room was amazing. We did not have breakfast the next morning which was included, but I will the next stay. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The bathroom was large enough and clean. I love the kitchenette and try to book hotel stays in hotels that offer them. The work space was great for the lap top. Can't say enough about the Hyatt on the South Side, we enjoyed the stay and will return. I have one complaint and it is a small one compared to the enjoyment we did have. The parking arrangement is terrible. They only offer valet parking @ $14 a day, as many city hotels do. If you want to park in the parking garage you have to pay for them to park it for you. If you choice not to park there, the closest parking garage is across the street, but they will charge you even more. it is a nitpicky thing I know but, parking should be something they can accommodate guest with a lot better.

This is the party tent OUTSIDE our window in the courtyard....you can't make the TV loud enough to drown it out.

While I agree with others when it comes to this place being a nice hotel with a good location, I can only give it one star. You see, we were hoping to be asleep before 10:30pm, but that's impossible when the courtyard is rented out for sorority and fraternity formals. Hotel, you are supposed to a place to get a good night's sleep, but you FAILED at that job. We asked if they could give us a different room. Nope, booked. We asked if there was a party on our second night, and the front desk told us no. Yet, here we are on night two with the bass vibrating the walls in our 4th floor room. There are only 5 stories. Everyone's feeling it. When there isn't a party going on, you can hear folks sliding their kitchen chairs in and out. Ah, that's what that one reviewer was talking about when he mentioned the floors... If you like to sleep when you stay at a hotel, look elsewhere. Parking is also valet only, and $18/ night.

View of the river from our room.

Awesome views of the river from the riverview rooms. Excellent customer service and we appreciated the free shuttle service to the train station, which was very convenient for us since we went to a Steelers game and did not have to drive or find our way to the stadium. Train service from the shuttle drop off is free to Heinz Field and the train stops in front of the stadium. If you go to a game, shuttle pick-up service coming back is slow due to traffic, so expect a wait. Complimentary breakfast was good - they offer hot breakfast choices such as eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc., as well as fruits, pastries, and cereals. There is also an omelet station where you can order made to order omelets. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. There is an awesome, lively German pub right next door that is a must try!

The view from my room...love it!

I stayed here one night because I thought the trendy Bloomfield neighborhood would provide a nice change-of-pace from the more established downtown area. I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. I would probably pick a day that didn't fall on a holiday weekend for a less expensive stay.

When we pulled up to the hotel, we parked in an area that the front desk later confirmed was not valet parking and that we were fully permitted to use. Despite this, a man wearing a plain black shirt with no name tag, hotel logo, or other identification immediately approached us and aggressively demanded, "You need to give me your keys now." He never introduced himself, never identified himself as a hotel employee or valet attendant, and never welcomed us to the hotel. Instead, he immediately became confrontational. When I explained that I was not comfortable handing my vehicle keys to an unidentified stranger, he escalated the situation by repeatedly yelling, "Bro, bro, you're not going to disrespect me." We attempted to walk away and continue with check-in, but the harassment did not stop. After checking in, we returned outside to unload our luggage, and he immediately confronted us again. This time, he threatened that if I did not hand over my keys, "there would be consequences." No guest should ever be threatened simply for asking reasonable questions or wanting to verify the identity of someone requesting possession of their vehicle. The front desk staff later confirmed that we had parked in the correct location and acknowledged that this employee's behavior was inappropriate. While I appreciated their honesty, that did not change what had already occurred or the fact that the individual continued to work the front entrance. Unfortunately, the situation only worsened throughout the remainder of our stay. Every time we entered or exited the hotel, this valet employee continued making comments about my group to his coworkers. He would smirk, laugh, and make remarks within earshot of us, often in front of the front desk staff. Rather than feeling welcomed as paying guests, we felt uncomfortable and uneasy every time we walked through the lobby. The hostility that began upon our arrival never truly ended. As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite member who spends more than 200 nights each year almost exclusively at IHG properties, I have always chosen IHG because of the professionalism, hospitality, and consistency I have experienced across its brands. Unfortunately, this stay was unlike anything I have ever encountered. In all my years of traveling, I have never felt so disrespected, singled out, isolated, or unwelcome at a hotel. IHG promotes its hotels as places where every guest should feel safe, respected, and valued. That was not my experience at this property. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, I felt that our concerns were dismissed, and the behavior of this employee created an environment where we no longer felt comfortable. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It has caused me to seriously reconsider my loyalty to IHG after spending hundreds of nights each year with the brand. I hope hotel management and IHG Corporate conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, address the conduct of the employee involved, and ensure that no future guest has to experience the same treatment we did.

The woman helping us was efficient, personable, and even gave us a walking map of the area. The room corridor was wide, making it look much larger. There are plenty of outlets everywhere, lights, a TV, a Keurig machine, a fridge, and more. The bathroom was spacious with a toilet room with a closing door inside, a large shower, and Le Labo shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The beds are semi comfy and come with lots of pillows. 3) Amenities: There's no pool, but there is a gym with machines and weights. There's also a small rooftop terrace with a view of the Cathedral of Learning, work areas, and more. There's valet parking and a cheaper parking garage not connected to the hotel across the street. One interesting aspect of the hotel is that it's on the site of the Syrian Mosque, a large music venue. A recording studio, guitar, etc. inside the hotel are all nods to the music venue. 4) Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a day of exploring, our room had a nice card with chocolate, macarons, and raspberries, and nice water for us. You can use it shall you need something ... if for some reason you cannot enter your room, just pick up the black phone in the hallway and they will come to you (this didn't happen to me, but just a tip if it does). I stayed in room 1470 and absolutely love my view of the gothic architecture of the Union Trust. I looked out my window a million times! The size of my room was huge! On checkout day, the event I attended was going to start early and finish after checkout time. Since I was up late the night before, the front desk said I was welcome to bring my bags down now for bellhop to hold, but they also put me for a late checkout at 1pm so I could come down late the next day too. So partway thru the event just before 1pm I brought down my bags and they held them for the next 90 mins I was there. I parked across the street at the Mellon square parking garage ... Apple GPS marks the garage in the wrong place FYI ... it marks it about a block away but it is directly across the street from the hotel, with the entrance to it being on the cross street. I paid $44 to park there from Thursday around 5pm to Sunday around 3pm. Not bad. They do have valet parking at the hotel too but that is $55 per day I believe. Leaving was sad. I would have liked more time to enjoy this place. I would love to come back sometime! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Wonderful staff and incredible hotel! Thank you for this amazing stay!

I'm extremely disappointed in our recent stay at the Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh East. My friend and I…read morebooked this hotel for two nights and I truly wish we stayed anywhere else. We've had great experiences with other Hotel Indigos and we were willing to stay a bit outside of the city to stay at this trusting brand, but we were very sorry we did. While the hotel appears decent on the exterior the rooms are anything but clean. Our trip started with arriving to what appeared to be an okay room. The room/hall had a vague scent of mold but that as the least of our worries. When I went to put my water bottle in the fridge I noticed there was a McChicken from a previous guest. The fridge also smelled so it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Upon further inspection the room had multiple stains on our bedding as seen below. I travel often and I have never been in a hotel room so dirty. The floor had clearly not been swept in between guests as evidenced from a penny and some crumbs found near the trash can. In addition to the dirty interior the bathroom and shower were not cleaned. The shower had hair from a guest that was neither myself or my traveling partner. There were also cracks in the walls throughout the bathroom. In addition to the disgusting room the hotel also employs one person for the Valet. The lines to get your car were consistently long and for $32 per night it really didn't seem worth it. If this were a cheap hotel I would simply say you get what you pay for but it's not. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. While the area surrounding the hotel is decent, the hotel itself is not worth it. You can pay a similar amount for a hotel in a more central location with better cleanliness. The only reason the review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because the AC worked very well and we were visiting during a heat wave. Overall, we will not be returning to this Hotel Indigo.

Got here after a long day. Only a single person checking people in and I was next in line. Will admit that she apologized but it didn't at all speed things up. So trying to settle in and the tv didn't work. Maintenance guy came and tried a few things and just walked out the door mumbling to himself. Went down to the front desk because they kept on hanging up on me. They then offered to move me into another room. Great. Got to the other room. A TV worked. But there were no towels. Called down and the didn't come for 15 minutes so I went to the front desk and they were just sitting there. Were they expecting me to come up? I guess I should have known since I had to go down to find out that they want to move me to a [smaller] room. I've been here a few times over the last few years but will look elsewhere. This place has been run down and the service has declined.
