We were at their convocation center (799 N.Hewitt) for a high school graduation. There was ample…read moreparking for those who arrived early, but those who came later had to park pretty far away. To start, the entry into the center was disorganized and security was a mess. They did try to screen everyone with their metal detectors and use guards to dig through bags. This process took forever and it was pouring outside so people were getting totally drenched outside. The wait to get inside was over 30 minutes long and it was horrible trying to get in. Once inside it's chaos, you don't know where you are at until you are inside and it's a battle for seats. The AV and lights were fine, but once the ceremony was over they walked all the kids into the rain and were not let back into find their families . None of them had umbrellas because they were walked out immediately in caps and gowns and formal wear. Everyone's formal clothes were ruined. We were drenched trying to find our group and it was a total nightmare. The security guards were rude and obnoxious, they didn't let the kids go back to find their families and it was cold, dark and pouring. There were senior citizens with walkers and canes getting pushed over trying to get in and out of the building and yelled at by the security. Parents who had to get the car couldn't find their kids or go back in. The whole place was poorly lit. It was a severe thunderstorm out with heavy downfall. They had zero crowd management skills what so ever. I would not recommend renting this place for events unless they can get their crowd management situation and think about what the customer experience should be. What a way to ruin an important family and child's milestone by having the graduation ceremony at this place.

EMU provides a wealth of resources to support students as well as professional development to faculty and staff in ways that enrich. The campus is easily absorbed by the local community. Loyal Ypsilanti residents often have strong EMU ties as well. Walkable is doable and parking not too bad. My favorite part is the library and related resources which proactively offer support to students, instructors, departments. Professional development workshops are often available and worthwhile. I've taken a few. Recent Administrative behavior around social and racial unrest is most controversial element of current campus climate and worth watching.

This place would be nice to live in if management cared at all and were professional. Location is nice but, that's why management doesn't have to care about you, because people will move in for that reason alone. And if you do, you'll regret living here. Your home after 6 months will no longer be a home. It will be a gallery. The parking lot has no lines and cars are forced to park behind other cars and it is super difficult to get out. It'll be fine during the day but at night it's obvious there is not enough spaces for all the tenants. On several occasions I had to take advantage of guest parking at river drive apartments. Snow is not taken care of at all during the winter. There are no guest passes. When you visit, unless the apartment manager (there is only one by the way) reads this and takes them down, you can see in a tree on the side Washtenaw that there is a chair, and a pair of shoes stuck in it. They have been there since I moved in two years ago. Multiple units got bed bugs and tenants were forced to pay out of pocket to get rid of them. This incident was only two weeks ago. Tenants were not notified that there was bed bugs in the complex. I found out because I am friends with multiple other tenants. And because someone wrote a sign and put it on the front door. The apartment manager took said signs down and again did not notify the tenants. One time the lock was broken on the door to get into the complex and it took over a month for it to be fixed. Six months into your lease (unless you sign for another year), your apartment will be excessively shown to the point that your privacy and ability to live peacefully is violated. My guess is the apartment manager gets paid more if they are filled faster. While the tenant isn't allowed privacy outside of business hours the apartment manager will only allow you to contact him from 9-5. Only when I told him that it was illegal to show it without 72 hours notice in Ypsilanti did he respect that law. My place has been shown since 6 months in and I have two more months and it's still being shown constantly. I'm breaking lease because I cannot deal with the invasion of my privacy anymore. Additionally, apartment showings are not limited to business hours. He will show your apartment during the evening and on weekends. Their excuse is that that's when potential tenants are free. After living in multiple apartments next to eastern none of those places had an issue functioning during regular business hours alone. Also, the time given will be that date and in my case the times section will say 10am-7pm all three and sometimes four days. Making it impossible to plan around. I have had jewelry and medications stolen. Again, your home after 6 months will no longer be a home. It will be a gallery. If you want to speak to management outside of the only apartment manager he will do nothing to help you speak with said boss. Neighbors have joked said boss doesn't exist. Consequently you are forced to wait at the office until he shows up if he shows up. I have waited up to three hours on multiple days at the office and still have never seen said boss. Most apartment complexes have an office with hours that you can come in while they're open and speak with staff or higher management. If you try to find the office on google you cannot. When you go to the office you'll see that there are no hours. My recommendation if you are an Eastern student is to get the parking pass and move to a complex ten minutes away. The prices will be better and the quality is higher. I recommend that despite how frustrating parking can be on campus.

And each person can choose and hire their own testing company? Okay Michigan. I'll play by your rules. The word on the street was that Hoth Testing would be a good choice, especially for drivers who might struggle with anxiety. For parents who are setting up the testing, communicating with Taylor via text was easy and pleasant. Pricing was straight forward. Scheduling was painless. And payment was digital. As for the testing itself, our assigned tester was kind, explained everything well in the moment, and helped to put the aspiring driver at ease. If anything, they were a little bit too friendly, making casual chit chat during the test, which my kid found a bit distracting. Even still, they passed on the first attempt. I was expecting this process to involve at least two attempts, so this was great news. To be clear, the high points are not because of the successful resolution of the test, but rather the grace and professionalism for all involved. Somehow, even with all of the training tools provided by the great state of Michigan, I was unaware that backing into a parking space would be part of the test. But it is. And I have feelings about that, but they are irrelevant to Hoth and their protocols. The bottom line is that if you live in Michigan and need a driver's test for a license, I can confidently recommend Hoth as a great choice.

The girl's restroom is in shambles (not sure about the boy's restroom though) When you walk in the girl's restroom sometimes the smell of weed and vape hits your face because some girls do drugs in the restroom's and the Bathroom stalls either have no locks on them or are dislocated and can't shut properly so this leaves a huge risk that someone could come in the stall your using unaware that you're in there. The sinks are Absoulutly dirty because some girls cut and brush their hairs and leave strings of hair and eyebrows inside the sinks and I think they pour milk down the drain too. Fights are really common in this school, and they happen unexpectedly, and it leaves you on edge because you don't know when another fight is going to happen and you have to be prepare for what might happened in the school, this school doesn't give out good punishment to kids who do bad things and after they punish them, they still haven't learned their lesson. False accusations and rumors are the real issue in this school; I have been falsely accused of taking a dump in the school bathroom and it spread like wildfire around the school, firstly I never took a dump in the restroom for the entire school year and second of all that is what restrooms are for. In this school students don't mind other people's personal business, and this school doesn't announce special events happening your only news source is eavesdropping, and gossip and this school doesn't tell you anything. One time there were food trucks in the parking lot, and they didn't send us emails about, they didn't announce it on the speakers, absolutely nothing. And me and my friends were flabbergasted when we saw food trucks in the parking lot, we didn't have any money to purchase things. Students don't respect no one, they always say the N-word, and they all act like toddlers even though were in high school. This high school is the worst place on earth with the worst students who obnoxiously don't care for anyone but themselves and they made my first year of high school HELL do not come to this school it will leave an emotional and physical scar on your child take them to another high school where I'm at right now.

He was always available to text and really, really knew his stuff. Then, to get more clarity on the admissions process, I signed up for an admissions counseling session with the managing partner Mayssoun Bydon. I was shocked by how big a waste of time and money this was. It's an incredibly expensive service, at around $500 an hour. I had prepared a long list of questions and wanted to use that time as effectively as possible. Not only did she show up over 25 minutes(!) late for the session, she was remarkably unengaged and gave information that was more than unhelpful. I was shocked by her lack the lack of professionalism she exhibited for someone with such a good reputation. I asked about the character and the experience of what it would be like to go to different law schools, and she told me just to look at their rankings "and that would tell me the vast majority of what I needed to know". I asked with my scores what schools I should be applying for, and she told me University of Illinois, University of Iowa, etc. I told her this wasn't right, and that my GPA seemed lower than it actually was bc I went to an undergrad school known for its lack of grade inflation. She told me this didn't matter, and that I shouldn't bother with top schools. Well, I ended up getting accepted into schools in the T-14. If I followed her advice I would have missed a massive opportunity. Also, she asked me if I had any personal connections to any of the top schools. I told her that my great uncle had been a janitor at the Unicersity of Chicago. She insinuated that I should lie and say he was my grandfather on the application. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
