Because the price seemed low, we called back more than once and specifically asked if the price was the complete and total amount we would see on our bill, we were assured that it was. Our first bill arrived including additional fees and charges that almost doubled the quoted price. We immediately cancelled, not becauase of the price, but because it seemed the person quoting was intentially misleading about the additional fees. read more

Where do I start? The drivers look for an excuse to not empty the dumpster. The dumpster has holes to allow the rats in. Asked for a replacement. Never got it. WE are a commercial property. But we are very close to residential properties. We asked not to have collections before 7am. I caught them at 430am emptying the dumpster. I called customer service. I told them what happened. They called me a liar and a troublemaker. And the contract is 60 months. And auto renews for 60 months if you do not cancel in advance. That contract binds you and not price increases. Only terrible companies have 5 year contracts that only bind the customer. Internet and phone companies are offering 5 year contracts , but the price is locked in. Their contract only protects them. I see a 3 and a 5 star review. Must be employees. All others are 1 star. Bottom line. Avoid this company. I really believe you would have to search very hard to find a worse one. read more

Andrew Reitmeyer, who is one of the account managers, is very dishonest about prices and makes deals with people who do not have authority to sign contracts. While he was in the process of signing a contract with me, he decided to let someone else who did not have authority to sign our contract, sign it and charge him a more expensive price. Waste not want not. One of my connections taught me that. One of the better waste and recycling companies in the Houston area. They've done a good job and they're a recommended and trusted name. We use them at the office building on this property, and have recommended them to others too. However, I removed a star because of some of their other shady practices that we've become aware of. read more

Father in Law recently passed away and we discovered this company is charging 4 times more per month than the competition. They took advantage of a clause that basically rolls over the contract unless you give them 90 days notice prior to expiration that you won't be renewing. They now say we are locked into the contract our deceased relative had with them for another 6 months. Shady business practices? Absolutely! Bordering on illegal? We recently were changed over to Waste Connections when our local waste service sold out (that's a story for another post). Since then, our rates have gone up and our services have gone to crap. Waste bin lids left open so rain can accumulate, bins not being replaced where they were left (often in our yard, knocked on its side), inconsistent pickup times (it's as if they show up when they want). My recommendation, if you have a choice get someone else...might I suggest a drunken hobo with nothing else to do. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! We have had waste connections for years for our business. When we complained to the call center that the driver was pushing the dumpster against our fence (we had told the driver in the past as well to stop doing this) and finally bent it to where it was almost inoperable the operations manager Damien came out. He took one look and said "that wasn't us, that's old" quite odd, doesn't matter how "old" he thought it was, the dumpster was propped up against our fence and it fit exactly where the bend was as well..... again we had services through them for over a decade. This was just the start of our issues. Not only did Damien bring his goon with him that just sat there and stared at us, we were told by Damien well if nothing can be done we will just cancel the service. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID! But it wasn't done that day, he said he was going to look into what could be done as well as get us a smaller dumpster and would get back with us. That never happened, after a month and a half I called on the 22nd of April and said I needed to schedule them to pick the dumpster up after our billing period was up (end of April). The customer service rep said she would have to have operations reach out to us before hand. The next morning I came to my place of business and saw our dumpster was GONE! It was taken in the early hours of the morning by waste connections before our business opened. To top it off they charged us right before hand for the month of May! I call in and low and behold the person that would handle this issue was none other than Damien. This company is absolutely terrible and the operations manager isn't fit to even be a customer service representative, it's mind boggling that a company as big as waste connections would even allow someone so unfit to be the face of their business. Instead of admitting their fault and fixing what they broke they charged us for additional month of service, took our container without warning, and basically spit in our face. Side note: since this happened we were able to find another company with the same exact service for half the price so we were getting overcharged as well, go figure. Current customer. Locking bar on dumpster doesn't prevent people from opening the lid & using our dumpster. Have called multiple times for replacement dumpster & each time was told new dumpster will be delivered but that was never done & so we continue to have to pay when someone else used our dumpster. Quit trying to get this replaced because it is mostly empty promises. Also, be careful looking at contract fine prints. You are required to notify them within 90 days by certified mail when your contract is up if you want to cancel or renew for it will automatically renew for same duration. If you tried canceling after the 90 days window they will still charge you 6 months of service. We are selling our restaurant due to ecomonic situation but are still require to pay for this termination fee. Our fault for not researching this but it is an expense we are not expecting. I have never had a problem with waste Connections. They have always picked my trash up on time and if I'm outside when the trash is being picked up the guys are always respectable and courteous when I see them. They are working so hard that if I see them I will give them Gatorade. I have had to call the office once and my problem was attendant to and fixed immediately. The people in the office were so nice and helpful. I have had several trash companies in the past and they would through my trash can in the neighbors yard or the trash can would be bent and sometimes they wouldn't even come. I'm not one to usually put other companies down, but Republic is the worst. I have taken pictures and posted them here in Conroe, TX and in Lone Tree , CO due to there ignorance of blocking the gate at the time I needed to get to work, then another time one tried to go through McDonald's drive threw. The manager had to come out and tell him to back up that his truck won't make the clearance. So I'd say don't use Republic. I am so happy with Waste Connections. I know you would be too read more

Saw a Waste Connections truck (#2519) going down Beltway 8 just spewing trash because the driver failed to close the top of the truck. Called the office to report the problem and never got anyone to answer. The recorded message says they are experiencing high call volume - translation Waste Connections doesn't want to invest any resources in customer service. Even their website doesn't provide a way to report these kinds of problems. Poorly run outfit. read more

After Waste Connections bought out Spring Waste in Colorado Springs, it had problem to integrate the accounts as well as handling the volume of the increased number of customers. Waste Connections has been unresponsive by phone, email, or online contact form through their own website. Then Waste Connection has the audacity to send people's accounts to collection. I have other accounts in different states and I am cancelling them because Waste Connections is a customer unfriendly company that treats customers unfairly and irresponsibly. read more

So unhappy with this company! No pick up for three weeks. We called at least 8 times, and were promised several times that a special run would be made to empty our trash cans. Never happened. Never. We cancelled our service with them, and we are now going on four weeks. Our overflowing trash cans are still sitting on the curb. read more

Please read the contract before you sign it. 60month contract. I f you do not notify them at 60months to drop the contract it auto renews. The price they give you is not locked in. They can go up at any time. Also ask about all of the surcharges. read more

I noticed that our monthly charge for a dumpster has gone up 32% since the first of the year with two price increases. I found a competitor that offered a 40% savings. I called Waste Connection and found out that we have a 3 year contract that started 9/2020 and early disconnection of service would cost $1,095. They only guarantee in their contract that the monthly charge won't change for 1 year. Under the contract they can now go up as high as they want without warning. They are refusing to release us from our contract or assure us of no other increases. Other companies need to be warned. read more

I went from good customer service to just straight up robbing me with additional charges when my needs changed. When your terms of service change they try to make you sign on for another 3 years. Refuse to work with you to get your current contract rate to reasonable. Keep changing your representatives and go up on random rates every month. Poor business practices, avoid like them like the plague. They act like they're doing you a favor by getting your rate to reasonable after they jack it up and then ask you to sign on for 3 more years. read more

This place's contracts are insane. The owner of the company I worked for signed a contract for 5 years for a dumpster and pick up but what he was told did not match the terms on the actual contract (his fault for not reading the fine print). The contract gives them the right to increase the cost of service by any amount at any time, which they do, typically 1 to 2 times per year. I'm not sure what benefit the customer actually gets from a contract that doesn't lock the price. On top of this the "auto-renewal" is insane. They will auto-renew for another 5 YEARS if you do not send a CERTIFIED LETTER in an exact 30 day time frame (no more than 120 days before expiration and no less than 90 are the exact words of the contract). The cancellation fees are insane and if you try to change your service level they charge you and send you a document without mentioning that the fine print says you are committing to another X amount of years with another auto-renewal. Their reps fail to mention this every time I speak to them and then when I see new service change request contract I spot it. Very deceiving business that will attempt to lock you in forever. Their contract even has a clause (which probably isn't legal) saying they will try to push your agreement onto your "heirs" if you pass away. Disgusting. read more

We had the smallest residential dumpster at our rural location for over 20 years and went through companies buying the last one out and finally wound up with Waste Connections of Texas. They didn't pick up the trash all weeks in any months that we had them BUT KEPT INCREASING THE PRICE. When it reached $296 a month for service we cancelled service. That was the first week of January 2018 and they still haven't picked up their dumpster nor emptied it even though we were paid up through January. Customer service claims that established customers like us are their "bread and butter" and that's why they kept increasing the rate. WTH???!!! read more
