On the first day of class everyone has an "A". By the end of the semester everyone's grade is based on their performance. We are new to Georgia and we selected GFL Waste Industries after we dumped Republic for HORRIBLE service 2 weeks in. Waste Industries started out with an "A". We received our receptacle in two days, while Republic hadn't even delivered the cans we purchased after two weeks of waiting. The trash was picked up on our first day of service without error. We ordered an additional can after a week. It was not delivered when promised and we could not get anyone on the phone. We eventually reached someone through a different extension and got in touch with Duane the General Manager. As promised, the can was delivered on the day Duane promised. He followed up with us the next day. Not perfect, but better than what we had. We appreciated the service we received from the manager. We need seamless service and we are looking forward to it. Lived in my neighborhood for less than a year. The builder of my house recommended GFL. Must have been getting a kick-back. They've missed pickup 3 times and all 3 times blamed a subcontractor. Never take responsibility. This last week was the last straw. Got 2 automated calls confirming my new pickup is set for Tuesday. It's always been Tuesday. Tuesday came and no pickup. By Wednesday night they had still not picked up in my neighborhood. I called and was told they would set up a priority pick-up Thurs. I told the lady it wasn't just me but the whole neighborhood that uses GFL. No pickup on Thurs. Another neighbor called and was told the same thing and new pickup would be Fri. No pickup then, either, so a third neighbor called. She was told they wouldn't pick up until the next Tuesday. Rolled my can to the back of the house. Low and behold, without any communication, this time, they showed up at 6a on Sunday morning. WTF! This review is about GFLEnvironmental in Douglasville, GA. If I can give them no stars I would. They have not been picking the trash up on time now for more than a month. July 4 weekend the people in my subdivision was swamp with trash because they didn't pick up the trash from previous week. They did not pick up the trash on time the weeks after neither. I was told we could not put the bags on the side of the trash or we would incur a fee if we did even if they did not pick it up on time. When I call the customer service people had an I don't care attitude and wanted to credit me $10 for the inconvenience. I ask for a supervisor to call me back guess what no one call. I received an email on July 2, 2022 from GFL with a rate change of $124.12 per quarter, previous quarter was $119.54. On June 27, 2022 GFL did not pickup my recycling, they agreed to give me a credit. On July 11, 2022, GFL again did not pickup my recycling, they agreed to give me another credit. I went on line today July 18, 2022 to pay my bill, to my surprise I found an invoice for $133.50. So this is what happened to offset the credits that were promised they raised my rates to $133.50. Now that two rate changes in one quarter. The recycling was $18.75 per quarter, so that would mean a $18.75 credit, nope. So with the change in the quarterly rate, my credit will only be $4.58. Currently the recycling is twice a moth, this is when it's picked up, that's $60.75 a quarter. For trash the quarterly rate $75.75, Boomerang rates are $66,00 per quarter for trash. I believe that I heard that GFL would match rates, I guess not. Unfortunately Boomerang does not provide recycling, but with GFL help it might happen soon. read more

They do not collect your trash and they do not answer the phone. Some people have new trash cans I did not receive one. And the wheel fell off of the one they gave me. This is the absolute worst company. I have had issue after issue regarding my recycling. I chose this company because they offered recycling services. I have been promised over and over that it will be picked up on its regular schedule day and month over month I have to call. I was even given the name of Erik Bergin as VP to contact to resolve my issues and still a month later the same problem again. For 37 years at this address I pay Waste Collection for the year. Once GFL took over the account they came and took the bin at the end of first month. They pasted sticker that bin would be collected on second month. I had to run out there with my receipt from their website to stop guy from taking bin again. Now third month about to take bin again. On hold no for 5 hours and Code Enforcement has informed the neighbor and I we have until Monday morning to remove the 2 weeks of trash collecting in front of the house. Today, one of their drivers hit a neighbor when he needlessly threw his vehicle into reverse (on a cup de sac that he could have just as easily cleared completing a circle). Backed into our friend and neighbor, the driver never checked if they were okay. He could have just as easily run over one of their children on a bike with as little concern. Good Day, I am VERY disappointed with this company. I have been with them for over five years and it has been an EXPERIENCE. Last week, I called for service and to let them know that I will have extra bags to be picked up, due to Thanksgiving week. I thought all was well; unfortunately, they did not honor their collection day, which is supposed to be every Monday. The company came to pick up on Tuesday which led me to have an extra bag. Any extra bags are $3 to be picked up, which is ALREADY ridiculous, Never heard of that! Not only did they fail to pick up the trash from the entire side of the street for 2 weeks in a row (I called to complain each week so they were made aware each week), when they finally sent another truck out the second week they only picked up my overflowing can and left all of the others on the street (I'm guessing they didn't sit on hold for 1+ hour to get through to someone), they have also damaged my yard by not stopping the truck before the arm grabs the can while the wheels are still in motion and dragging it across my yard. Worst customer service from any garbage service in town. They will never answer their phone, you get a recording suggesting to hold or use their web portal to contact them. If you hold they never pick up if you use the web portal you get an e mail saying they got your message and that you will be contacted but not to reply to the e mail as it is not a monitored address. I never was contacted by the company after multiple phone calls and multiple messages sent on their web portal. I sent them a written letter to which I got no response. I have paid them for a quarter of service, a prorated quarter of service and a delivery fee to have a can delivered. I received no can and no service. Use at your own risk. read more
