This is the worst trash company i have ever dealt with. The garbage man dumps half of our trash all over the street while cracking and destroying the bins when the truck picks them up. If you call for a replacement bin they will send you a smaller one and charge you the same amount for it! An absolute rip off and poorly run company. Oh and adding an update they have now destroyed another of my trashcans. Probably in hopes I will call for replacements and be charged the same price for their smaller cans. These guys must think we are idiots. Is there a negative star? Hey! Here goes another update, not that this company cares about customer service or poor reviews. Driver completely missed picking up my blue bins this week, got my neighbors on either side but not mine. I have been calling three times a day every day since, and lied to that they would come get them shortly, it has been almost a week now, ravens are starting to scatter trash, I'm pretty sure 75%of the trash in the desert in the AV is due to wm poor service. Every day they tell me they have talked to the driver and yet here it is going on Thursday and my trash from a week ago sits out there. Pretty sure this company doesn't give a crap because they have bought out the competition. Talk about a corrupt company! So Trash day was Tuesday and it is now Thursday and my Trash bin still outside because they missed my pickup! the yard waste and recycle got picked up but not my trash? then I call to get it picked up as a missed pickup and they said it would get picked up Wed or Thursday. this is not the 1st time this happens but we have to take it since they have a monopoly or else I would go with someone else. they raise their prices but cannot provide the services being paid for on time! this is just annoying to say the least. read more

WM is a ridiculously incompetent company and lack integrity. I recently moved to Palmdale and started a residential service with WM. After canceling my residential account, I've been waiting about a month for a 3 yard dumpster. There's been a tedious amount of back and forth between customer service, account manager and sales representative. Sales rep., Luke A., is beyond inept to say the least. Tysheka J., account manager, has been polite and optimistic about the dumpster delivery but I wish she'd be more transparent about the delays. The delivery has been pushed back to the following day for about 30 days now. I was told there was 18 stops on my delivery route and I was stop 14. As of today, I was told, by Kevin in costumer service, that I am now stop 123 and the driver has not commenced the delivery route. I finally received a call back from Luke to discuss my options. He confirmed that there was a driver shortage and all he could offer was to cancel the business account and reopen the residential account. I asked if there was any delay in getting toters for the res. account ( I was expecting him to say yes due to a driver shortage) and he simply said let find out and give you a call back..... INEPT! Through out the last 30 days I've obtained the following information: - There is lack of inventory for residential and business (dumpsters, toters, etc.) - In reality (they won't tell you) your delivery will be inconveniently delayed with no accuracy as to what the timeline is. - There is a driver shortage - The "end date" to the delays is estimated to be at the end of December - Free Landfill Day is for residential account holders - WM only offers vouchers for residential account holders and offers no accommodation for business account holders even if the service is at a residence. - Inform yourself in regards to the area you live in, incorporated vs unincorporated. My service is paid for. Trash day is today. Can was put our early. Driver came and didn't pick it up. Sent a pic saying it was over loaded. Customer service looked at pic and said its not. Lazy a$$ driver. I get home from work and my can lid is completely closed as it was this morning. Supposedly will be picked up today. Heard that before. Its always today it will then tomorrow and tomorrow turns into tomorrow and so on. Birds, dogs and the wind rip up bags they say to put out with the following weeks pick up which isn't allowed anymore. Jack up the prices and take away what we are allowed to put out. I'm over poor customer service. We need options. People here dump because of it being to expensive and forced to get another can. read more

Ordered propane two years ago at $2.68 (?) well they reduced their price after I filled up, they took some money off my bill (without me asking). Always a struggle to get the correct answers. Prices always going up. Josh the dumpster person seems nice but clearly doesn't know what is going on. My account was canceled then restarted without my knowledge because waste management decided to finally put me in the unincorporated area of Cortel versus Lancaster. I've been in Quartz Hill for 40 years, but waste management didn't seem to understand there was a difference between court sale in Lancaster so for over 20 years I have paid extra because they assumed I was in the Lancaster city one that just has a higher price. I Just moved out here to Lancaster it's been a whole month since I been here and they still haven't picked up my trash. They pick up my recycling bin but not my trash!!! why? I have called WM a handful of times they all tell me that same thing that they will leave a note for the driver...they also said I was allowed to put six extra trash bags on the side and that the driver will pick them up, well still no pick up today he passed and picked up my neighbors trash I had to chase him down to ask him why didn't he pick my trash up? Worst company ever. They are the only waste removal company in Palmdale. So, they have the monopoly power. Their service is EXTREMELY unreliable . They charged me for picking up some extra bags containing leaves, after that they even didn't pickup the bags. I called them several times and spent hours waiting on the phone. They eventually said they will pickup the extra trash bag the following week, but that week came and went but still they didn't pickup the bags. I called their headquarters in Texas and enquired. They said the bags should have been 33 gallon bags and that my bags were bigger. They didn't even consider that my bags were even half full. I have asked for refund and they never refunded my account. I refused to pay for my regular pickups and they have suspended my service! These people have no morals and no shame! I'm taking legal action against them. read more

Don't use Waste Management. I ordered a bulk pickup - its suppose to be free - at a residence I've lived it for over 40 years. It was scheduled for the same day as my normal trash is picked up - Friday. My haul was a simple 5x5 entertainment console, something I could probably stick in the back of a Toyota pick-up truck. When it was still there on Monday i called back. First they said they had changed the day to Saturday. OK that's fine in and of itself but when They accused me of having to big a load with grass, then I knew something was up. I also asked them to change my e-mail in their system - which they didn't because I never received a notice back. I called them again on Tuesday and after some hemming and hawing I cancelled the pickup. If their website was up I would have dealt with it there. I guess what you pay for is what you get - 'free' bulk pickups means you get NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder our desert is full of trash, even those who are supposed to pick it up won't. Guess maybe I need to get a good lawyer because this is obviously false advertising!!! read more

Preface: This review focuses solely on my landfill experience and facility and not on Waste Management as a corporate entity or their commercial/residential pickup services and associated phone customer service. After calling around to various independent junk hauling services and being blown away by the generally high prices they charge--I decided upon a DIY method. I have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited which holds quite a bit with the seats folded down, so I did not need to use a trailer. (More on hauling with a trailer below.) Take a moment and read the Antelope Valley Landfill website to see what sort of materials they accept. https://www.wmsolutions.com/locations/details/id/185 I just had old furniture and household trash. Also: http://www.wm.com/location/california/antelope-valley/_documents/PLF-LandfillFlyer01-01-19.pdf When you arrive, follow the signs toward the landfill. (This a big Waste Management facility and there are other operations going on at the same location.) You'll eventually get to the scales where they'll weigh your vehicle. You'll get out and have a chat with the nice lady who operates the scale house. She'll have you sign some paperwork with your contact info. About weighing: Unless towing a trailer, you'll be charged the minimum (around $65) if you're in a SUV or auto. If you are towing a trailer loaded with refuse, they'll weigh you as you arrive and then after you leave, to determine the amount to charge you (less the weight of your vehicle/trailer or "tare weight"). In this case, you'll pay after you've dumped your stuff. After the scale house, proceed up the road to the landfill. After about .5 mile, you'll see the area for e-waste. If you have such waste, there are green metal dumpsters there. If you don't have any e-waste (as I didn't) carry on down the dirt road and bear left down the hill. You'll see a huge pile of trash--can't miss it! Head down the bumpy dirt road and there will be someone who will tell you where to unload. Don't just pull in--make sure you check in with this individual or they may call you over. (This is for your safety as there is heavy machinery operating, pushing trash around and they don't want you getting squashed!) Once you've parked, toss you trash into the piles! No one is obligated to lend a hand, so either bring a friend(s) if you have a lot or your trash is heavy. Also, it's a dump... is smelly, dirty and noisy. That's it! Once your done, you can head back the way you came to the scale house. read more

Waste Management charges $77.34/quarter, for trash service in Palmdale, CA. Using "Covid-19 manpower shortages' as an excuse, WMI has been "re-scheduling" (i.e., read as, "cancelling") yard waste pick-up from weekly to every-other-week. We pay the same for trash service and do not get a credit for yard waste not picked-up. WMI tries to justify this bad service by stating, "we only charge you for picking up your household trash and recyclables - we pick-up your yard waste as a complimentary service." That would mean that WMI is actually a charitable organization, providing one-third (1/3) of their trash pick-up services for free!!! Sure they are!!! What WMI is really doing is cutting back on their service (thereby saving the costs of: man-power, truck fuel/ maintenance and insurance) while accepting less yard waste and thus avoiding filling up their dumpsite prematurely. Our trash is always taken out the night before pick up day. Our bill is always payed without fail. Last week our trash was skipped as we noticed when we got home that our container was still full. We made multiple calls and was assured numerous times that it would be picked up. No one ever arrived. The whole week our trash sat out in the sidewalk as we were instructed. Fortunately our neighbors were kind enough to let us use their trash can. The fact that there is no competition for WM leads me to think that they don't care about upsetting their customers. I set up a bulk pick up for cardboard boxes like I'm supposed to and each time they are never picked up. I flatten them and stack them and even put a paver weight on top so that they don't blow away in this AV wind. I don't have anything to tie the boxes with but I do stack them neatly but if you can believe it every time somebody shows up looks at the boxes and leaves them behind. Can you imagine someone comes by and just because the boxes are not tied up they don't take them!!! What kind of service is this??? I am very disappointed in this company I called them on January 20,2021 to get 2 couches picked up. The first time they were suppose to come January 28,2021 they did not come so when I called them on Jan 28 they said Feb 11, so I told the guy they've been out since January 23rd he said I'll change it February 4th, February 4th came they say they came at 12:00pm but my neighbor told them not to park to pick the couches. I ordered another trash can about a month ago. It was obviously smaller than the one I had. What Waste Management is doing now , should be against the law. They're down sizing the trash cans and charging more. James told me today "for your area" this is now the size of trash can you're allow to have. I guess like or leave. "We're allowed to have?" Since they're a monopoly we don't have a choice and they definitely take advantage of their customers. They cheat every chance they can and we're at their mercy. I requested a bulk item pickup and was told they only pick up on Monday in my area. I put my 5 piece sectional curbside on Sunday evening, just like they told me to do. Monday evening it was still there. Tuesday evening, still there so I called and they said there was an attempt to deliver it and a picture was taken of the address, that was not even my address. She said she would request to have it picked up again. Thursday, it's still here, so called again. Was told they only come out on Monday so I have to have my couch in my front for a week before they come get it...their error and I get to suffer for it. We've lived in the AV area for over 2 years now and we've paid to have all 3 bins recycle, trash, and green waste. We've always put out all 3 bins to be picked up and they've always have. However these last two weeks they don't take the recycle... I called and they said there is no recycling pick up to put the trash and recycle together. Horrible service! They are quick to send invoices, and collect payments. But, since I have set up service this company has provided me false promises three times. First, when I set up service online I was told that the trash bin would be dropped off between Aug. 18-21, but I received it on Aug 24th. Secondly, I was told that I could leave trash bags outside of my yard on trash pick up day (Aug. 24th) since I don't have a bin, so that the driver could take them, but the driver didn't take anything. Thirdly, on August 25th, I called and I was told that the driver would return to pick up my trash that same day, but it never happened. Disgusting! This company needs some serious competitors. I ordered a temporary 3 yard dumpster which was delivered on time. The problem is they do not empty the dumpster. After wasting time calling WM for four days they finally emptied the dumpster four days late. Now in the second week they are once again 5 days late. People on the phone are nice and helpful but they are not the ones who actually empty the trash. The problem seems to be the drivers. This company is terrible. God forbid they'd have to do something other than push a button. They are very well payed, but refuse to do anything that requires getting off their asses. Trust me, I've seen it all. I've dealt with them on a residential basis as well as on a business basis. They know that they are a monopoly and they take full advantage of it. Called today and spoke with Supervisor Stephanie regarding my Bill. They are reducing clean green pickups by half for at least the next month. I called to get a credit as I am getting half the service I am paying for. She said that as Waste Management has talked with the city and the city has said it's OK, they don't have to give credits!!!
