I have used waste management for only 9 months now, but they have been very good to us, which is why I was surprised by the other reviews. The only time I had trouble was when we were putting the trash too close to the mailbox and they can't safely pick up the cans in this location. After we heard we shouldn't do that, we never had a problem. Also, the nice man that handles the bulk trash location off Loch Laurel is always kind and friendly. We were very impressed with his great service, and we thought that the price we were paying for two receptacles was very reasonable, especially when they accepted bulk trash after hurricane Helene and it was included in our bill already, we did not have to pay extra. For 3 WEEKS in a row the solid waste truck does not pick up my trash. I have to call the office for the next three days before a truck comes out. After 2 weeks I wanted to talk to the supervisor. Crickets. So.... If I didn't pay my bill I would get no service. If I pay my bill I still don't get service. What should I do??? Please advise! read more

I tried to change my billing address and found it to be impossible. This company only pays lip service to customer service.

Waste Management is contracted with Wakulla County to pick up trash. Each neighborhood is assigned a day for them to pick up trash. Wakulla charges their fees on our property taxes. My properties trash and my street's trash has not been picked up more than 10 times less than 20. It happened again yesterday. No trash pickup. I've told the county. This is a sanitation problem & potentially hazardous. Wildlife are attracted to trash that may carry diseases. It is a health hazard. Do NOT ever choose this lousy, poorly managed company if you have a choice. read more

There's a certain level of intimacy in this relationship between homeowner and trash collector. They get to open our trash cans. You could say that the trash collector is granted access into the inner sanctum of our private lives. They know what we ate for dinner. They know if we are alcoholics, binge eaters, or non-donators of clothes and used goods. They know what we buy: new electronics, new sex toys, cheap gifts for Christmas. They see what we throw away. What we consider "trash." With this sort of information a trash collector could easily form an idea of how we live, how we think, who we are. So, I must say I felt indignant at Waste Management's recent betrayal of my trust. I try diligently to recycle everything recyclable that comes into my house. I even requested a supplementary green recycling bin. Here's my first problem: Waste Management employees often dump the recycling into the back of the trash truck! How do I know? Well, I came home once to put the trash in the can and found all my bottles and cans and cardboard in the trash can. How did this happen? Why? Who would do such a terrible thing? I had to discover the culprit. So I made sure I was home on a Thursday, specifically to peer out the windows like some strung-out junkie, and that's when I discovered the truth about Waste Management. Their people are dumping the recycling into the trash truck. No shame! No pretense! No covert action. Just simply dumping the bottles and cans into the back. When I called to complain about this switcheroo, the operator actually tried to sell me an $18 dollar disposal case for depleted batteries. She then tried to tell me about the company's other green products. I interrupted. "I thought we had an understanding. Now the trust is shattered. I'll be watching for another slip-up. Just one. And then we're through!" Be aware, people. Waste Management stinks. Worse than garbage. Way worse. I might need to start lugging my garbage to a Publix dumpster or something. I don't know. First, they randomly stopped taking our trash so my husband called them to find out what was going on. They were unsure of why this was happening and apologized and said someone would be out within 24hrs to pick it up. After 48hrs, the trash was not picked up. Called back and they said they would contact their supervisor to see what he says then would call me back. 8hrs later....still waiting!! read more

We are a contracting company and use many dumpsters...never have we ever been so ripped off!! We paid 4x the amount of any other company we have used in the past. We were forced to use them this time bc of the area we were in. When I got the "1st" bill i freaked out and called to fix it. Was told sorry it was disclosed in the initial call. Then another bill came and I even more freaked bc we had gone 33 days to get a dump and the rule was 30 or you got charged $400!!!! Then the fuel charge says a "percentage"---SERIOUSLY $255 in fuel charge?? All said and done we paid $1700 for 45 days and 2 dumps!!! This company has ZERO customer service, I was told "they are in the business to make money too". Well they just lost all of our business and I will get the word out! read more
