Our drivers are Isaiah and Terrell truck # 5346 We have in the past asked for our trash can to be put in the grass out of the driveway so I can turn in off the busy road but our former drivers couldn't seem to get it right but these two guys very nicely go the extra mile and make sure it's all done just right. Absolutely appalled at how lousy this service is. We paid for a 3 month subscription over a month ago and they have gotten our neighbor's trash and skipped us for over a month now. After numerous emails and conversations with people and even a supervisor, our address is still not being serviced and we are beyond done with waste pro. Numerous times we have been promised that a truck will be by that day, and nothing. Please do yourself a favor and get another trash service. read more

I'm giving them three stars and not a one because they have agreed to refund all of my payments. Basically we had signed up for two new weekly Dumpster services to our two business properties. Waste Pro came and dropped off the dumpsters in the spots that they thought were best. They charged us nearly $400 in delivery fees alone to drop off the dumpsters. It was then going to be a little over $400 a month for both services. Two weeks into service and they called and said our properties were too difficult for them to access. They said that they would be picking up their dumpsters, and at first they did not offer to refund what we had paid them. We eventually got them to agree to a full refund. We are now getting service with a local company who has no problem accessing our property so the little debacle with Waste Pro ended up being a blessing in disguise. The new company charges just under $260 a month for both services and did not charge any delivery fee to drop off the new dumpsters I feel a little silly now for not shopping around before we chose Waste Pro but it all worked out! Lesson being : contact other local providers before wastepro to save money and receive better service. We are now using smoky Mt waste. Savings = over $2,000 a year! read more

I have had Waste Pro for the last 6 years, I have no complaints.I received a call that my bill was over do and opps I thought I paid it. When I researched my payments with my Bill Pay on my bank site, I discovered instead of paying Waste Pro, I paid the Water Company. The water company now has me with a credit balance of $185. I called Waste Pro and asked If I could pay the remainder of my bill when I get paid due to my situation. They were understanding and agreed. They missed regular trash pick up on Wednesday! Several neighbors call and were told it would be picked up Thursday. Nope Saturday and still no pick up. Not the first time this happens. They will tell you oops we will get it and then they don't. read more

These people come when they want to. They have two designated days weekly to pickup but many times don't show up until a day or two later. They expect me to leave garbage out by the road for two or three days at a time. They also throw our garbage cans 10-15 feet onto the pavement breaking and destroying them. read more

​ the trash trucks that come off Patton Cemetery Road often stop before continuing on Alpine Way and Leisure Lane in Swannanoa. After calling , they cannot guarantee when a truck comes . They can also not guarantee that they do not know when a truck does not come. It is now day three where they were supposed to send a truck and it's not showing up . Again , today we've had three more times the Bears gotten into trash before a truck shows up. This lack of communication and responsibility is unacceptable and the City of Asheville needs to do something about this . It is a health hazard. They NEVER come on their scheduled pick up day for my entire block. When you call them, they just say I didn't pay your bill which is FALSE because: A) My landlord pays the bills on time every month (Confirmed after a phone call to the landlord who stated Waste Pro does this all the time...) and B) The ENTIRE street did not have their trash collected. Are they trying to say we all collectively didn't pay our bills? Don't think so. Horrible customer service. When you call, you get through to a person 1 out of 5 times. Otherwise, you are forced to leave a message that never gets returned. When you call, there are two phone options listed. "Press 1 for residential and press 2 for commercial." Number 1 doesn't even work. Press it thirty times! You won't get anywhere! read more

After years of mediocre, unreliable service, last month I finally cancelled my residential contract with WastePro Asheville. For their last act, they were supposed to pick up the carts - WastePro property. They've now promised three different pick-up dates, all of which have come and gone but the carts remain. Their customer service people will say anything just to get customers off the phone, but follow-up is completely random. I'm giving WastePro more than one star in recognition of the hard work of the folks on the trucks, but I would urge anyone with options to avoid WastePro like the plague. read more

This company is the worst. I have them at home and we also use them at work. I will be closing my account at home with these guys. They always miss pick up days. At work we have been working waiting for them to pick up one small recycle bin and replace it with a large one. After 6 months of them coming out and having the wrong bin or wrong directions they finally came out and without even checking with us they replaced our large trash bin with another large recycle bin instead of replacing the small recycle bin. I have been a Waste Pro customer since they took over Buncombe County's service. Of course there have been some issues but I was always able to resolve them easily by contacting the local office. Considering the number of years they have been picking up my trash, I have no complaints about service. I have seen the negative reviews, but my experience has been positive for years. I can't even remember the last time they failed to pick up as scheduled and if they were going to miss a day, I always got an automated call telling me there was a problem and what day they would pick up. As for cost, there have been increases over the years, but I don't consider the increases unreasonable for the service I have received, considering landfill fees were raised and I'm sure salary costs increased.as well. These factors increased their costs. After Helene, the pickup has been as good as could be expected for me. Our neighborhood had lots of trees down and there was a day they missed(I got a call letting me know when to put out my container). I think the company drivers were great! I appreciate their consistency and dedication in a tough time. I am sorry to see them go and only hope this new company gives me the same good service Waste Pro provided for years. read more

Seriously one of the worst companies we've ever dealt with we've had them for a couple years because options were limited. They miss our trash pick up probably 2 to 3 times a month and then give us a make up day of Friday which they still only will actually come maybe a third of those times. I highly recommend reading the reviews of the people on here. The five star reviews are all from around New Year's. They put letters on all the mailboxes, saying to leave them good reviews and if you look, that's the only good reviews they have. I hate leaving bad reviews but find someone else to pick up your trash. We have trash that has been piling up for about a month and I've called eight times to get it picked up each time them admitting that they forgot to get us and would do a make up day, but then they never came, so I'm having to pay someone to take the trash to the dump for me. read more

Waste Pro has horrible customer service and are unbelievable rude. We have to use a metal bear box bolted to concrete due to extremely active bears in our area. After years of picking up our trash and recycle from this box, today they told our neighbor to tell us that they will no longer be picking up our trash. They want us to use their "bear" trash cans instead. Bears may not be able to open their cans, but they easily drag them into the woods! It's incomprehensible how utterly dismal and pathetic this sad excuse for company really is. Their reviews across all social media (Yelp, Google, etc) are so bad they never exceed 1 star out of 5 mostly because that's the lowest rating you can give. Case in point, during a heavy rainstorm today my trash bin was picked up and left with the lid wide open. This is one small example of the incompetence. Any human with a conscience would close the lid so I don't find 6 inches of water in the bottom. Now, the real kicker. When I called to complain I was told "the truck auto picks up and dumps the bin" and that "there is only a driver who doesn't get out of the cab". Wow everything explained. Except. I've lived at my home for 3 years and there is ALWAYS a person on the back of the truck because there is no super robot capable of retrieving bins from all angles possible. So yeah there's always someone in the back that manually puts the bin in on the auto-dump. So why not take 1 second out of common courtesy to close the lid during a rainstorm? Answer: ignorance, apathy, carelessness and pure callous. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. What a mess. read more

I was a faithful customer for over five years. Then they stopped picking up boxes. I suppose the drive was worried he might break a nail. So I called to complain. Still the same. Both times I was told the office manage (Travis) would call me and yet never got a call. So I decide to wait out the term and not renew. So I get the bill and do not renew. Then I get a text saying I owe them. I call again. Speak to the young lady on the phone and explain every thing and she tells me I owe for a month of service I have not used. I asked what happens if I don't pay and she tells me that they will turn me over to collection. For $ 27.00! It is very little money but it is my money. I ask to speak to Travis. He will not get on the phone. It would appear that Travis does not have the stones to speak to his customers. Time will tell. One star is too many! read more

BEWARE. Waste Pro took my money but consistently fails to deliver on the basic service of providing and picking up trash cans. I've been a "customer" for 4 months and despite weekly calls, I still have not received the trash cans they charged me for, the trash pickup is sporadic and my multiple requests for a manager callback have gone unanswered. I get different answers and reasons for their inefficiency every time I call. I just watched one of their drivers THROW my personal trashcan down the street. This past Wednesday they picked up everyone on the road except a neighbor 3 houses down and mine. I called when I got home from work. They said I was scheduled for pick up the following day. What an incompetent, indifferent, horrible company! This Friday will be one month that they haven't collected my trash, which is always right by the road. Want pictures? They don't respond to anything. A neighbor told me they have skipped the whole STREET, and when someone called them about it, they picked up only HER trash, driving by all the overflowing bins on the little U-shaped street. The county needs a different or additional choice for trash collection. Another neighbor said she doesn't think they will pick up wood -- meaning branches, vines, that are in the trash can. Sometimes when an employee gets a low score, they deserve it. Sometimes they're just so disheartened at the nature of their job, their heart isn't in it and they just don't care. But sometimes you have a poorly run company with great employees who would do well anywhere and one of them is working at WastePro in Asheville. I'm not going to riff on the company as their service is as good as anywhere else, but whenever I have had to contact them by phone, they generally attempt to see my problem is fixed. As for most of the drivers, they seem to be generally extremely hard working. It can't be easy being a sanitation worker and the way some people are slobs when it comes to placing certain items in the trash, well, can you blame them sometimes for having things fall out of the truck? This past weekend when through miscommunication neither the garbage nor the recyclables were picked up (and those of several of our neighbors who thought Monday after Christmas would be a trash holiday), I called the office and got a "maybe or maybe not someone will pick it up on Tuesday" response, I wasn't all that hopeful. However, my neighbor was offered a Monday pickup, so I took mine outside and hoped for the best. Well, the best came along in the name of Sherry H. She picked up both cans for me even though I wasn't even "promised' until tomorrow. I am extremely grateful for her not making me wait until a day later for "if or when" my trash would be collected. After the holidays both cans were completely loaded up and I was wondering how I could go two weeks for another recyclable collection. The customer service is lacking and they are very condescending when we have called with concerns. Every week there has been an issue with pick up and we have waited over a month for trash cans.
