I Just moved out of this DUMP!! Here are just a FEW things wrong with this place: 1. DOG SHIT EVERYWHERE .... Especially in the Hallways 2. Mail is STOLEN EVERYDAY... 3. Laundry Room is always dirty and the machines don't work; 4. Garbage left out in the hallways: 5. Roaches!!!!!!! 6. Leasing office is NO HELP!!! 7. They take MONTHS to fix something in the apartment; 8. FLOOD ZONE 9. Garbage and dog shit all over the back of the building 10. They just worry about getting their rent This place should be condemned!!!! read more

Main elevator is constantly broken or violently jolts when it does work. You don't know if you'll be stuck on it or plummet to the ground. We do not get a courtesy email when it is out of service. We do not get an update as to what's being done to fix it. Replace a cable. Tighten a screw. I don't know but do SOMETHING. One day I asked why is it always out of service looking for answers. I got the standard bs answers. Allegedly they called a technician but the same issues are occurring. I was told by management to use the back elevator--aka the one that people use for pets; aka the one that's in the back of the parking garage. maybe that's okay for other people but I don't want to come home late @ night after working all day to venture into the parking garage to use that elevator then walk around the building to my apartment. Main elevator is more convenient. I shouldn't have to adjust. It should be fixed. I pay rent on time expecting to live in the newly constructed, five-story elevator building they advertise yet it's raggedy. Older tenants have even said the elevators break down a lot. Maybe they want to accept it but I don't. I like to hold people accountable. Which is what management/owners should do with the elevator technician!! Don't advertise the elevators and make it a selling point and it's constantly fxcked up!!! I called the city of Rahway and put a complaint into the property maintenance department as well. I was told they were going to send an inspector out. It's SAD it had to get to that point. I refuse to be uncomfortable in my home. Hallways DO smell. It gives off old Atlantic City Casino smells. Laundry room is horrendous. Either it's dirty and/or filled with out of order machines---again no explanation. Kitchen/living room outlets weren't working for a while. Put in 3 requests for it to be fixed. Seems like 2 times too many. My shower was clogged and I was told it backed up from the 2nd floor (I'm on the 4th floor) so that's wonderful. Love to hear that. It's a great location with access to so much but you could have a great day out then get killed in the elevator and management will hit you with an "I'm sorry". Go live elsewhere unless you want to pay full priced rent for half assed comfort. I can't wait until I can leave. read more

I give it a 3 for the maintenance guy David, very nice and sweet guy! And the ladies in the office always answer my emails. Overall I'll probably be looking for something else come the end of my lease. I feel like I'm paying for luxury and not getting honestly. I wish renovations or a visible change in management could be seen, or at least communication on a plan. read more

I've lived here for 2 years. And it's right behind the police station...from afar the ascetics are seemingly decent. But when u get within 100 ft of the building you will become disgusted. Dog feces are scattered throughout the property as though they are land mines. Trash is strewn throughout the building. The elevator reeks of urine from where multiple resident allow there pets to relieve themselves. The rent is too high for the limited amenities. Apartments are nice though. It's just the maintenance of the building. Parking is excellent as well and building is very secure. One of the safest buildings I've ever lived in. read more

I've literally had it with this place . I can not wait till my lease is over . First let me begin the super to the place Tom is quite amazing . Very helpful , friendly and does what he can with this crap hole. Now in April or March of 2016 the management changed to Salem management . When I first moved in the interior had me wood floors , practically new . On my floor any how . The people seemed friendly looked like working people . They have a patio area . I used to love to come out here let my dog have a breather hang out with family and friends . Now ! Wow have things changed. If you're looking for a place where you can smoke weed all fucking day !! Come here you will fit in great . Me on the other hand not so much . The patio is always with these hoodlums who sit in a pack and smoke weed some days there are groups of them ! The cops have been called numerous times even inspection to the house . People like this just don't care . Literally I feel high just walking through there . These people are here at all times of the day . 12pm you can find them in their Jammie's smoking . With their kids doesn't matter !! Beyond that this parking lot is freaking filthy . There is always glass and McDonald's trash bags , looks like the tenants that live here probably get trashed at night and just throw garbage any where they dam well please . So be careful walking your dog because the outside of this place is filled with garbage and glass my poor little dog nearly cut her self once . So you tell me you work your ass off all week to pay 1600-1800 dollars because it's 75 to park in garage if you get a space your lucky if not you have to go to the township to pay 75 just to park in that dirty ass lot . If not be were you will get MULTIPLE tickets . So you pay all that amount for about 700-800 Sqft just to live with people who bring the hood to you're home ! Absolutely not . Wait...do I really have to give it 1 star just to post? My fiancée and I have been here for 13 months and our lease is FINALLY up this month and let me tell you we are running FAR away! I have to admit, Tom, the building super is great! It is the management companies we have had to deal with that are absolutely terrible. Tom is friendly, and is there if you have a problem, but he is just one guy and there is only so much he can do to tame the animals at this shit-circus. At first glance, it seemed great online; smoke-free, luxury building. The smoke free part was emphasized so much in the lease that we were afraid my fiancée, who is in the cigar industry, would have an issue simply carrying packaged cigars in and out of the building to go to work. Upon moving into the complex we immediately had issues with smoking (like, literally the same night). We emailed Merida (the original management company) and they said that there was nothing they can do if people smoked in their apartment, which was all the more confusing since the language of the lease inferred that you could be water-boarded for simply thinking about a cigarette. Then a few months later the management changed to Salem Management. At first it looked like they were going to make some changes and we were hopeful. Now months later we realized all they do is put final notice stickers on the cars and don't ever pull the trigger and tow someone. It would be nice to be able to swing in the round about to unload groceries, but the parking lot the tenants have created makes that impossible. Next, to even call this place a "luxury building" is an absolute, utter JOKE. The "gym" consists of two treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, and some weights. The floors are always a mess and I shit you not, I have found chicken bones (YES CHICKEN BONES) in the hallways and elevators. Who the absolute fuck is just eating chicken and throwing bones everywhere?! If you have a dog, it is "suggested" that you utilize the back elevator and stairs out of "courtesy to your neighbors", but the back area is so full of dog shit since no one cleans up after their dog. No courtesy is left in us to give. After stepping in shit so many times, I usually use the front area, which isn't much better because it is always full of trash and broken glass from the hoodlums using the domes across the way. Don't worry, they will introduce themselves at 2AM if you leave your windows open. Also the trash rooms are disgusting. Lazy ass people leave their cardboard and trash just on the floor in the trash room. Now onto the people that live here. This is the fun part. Where do I start.... Let's see..I'll start off with the drunk woman who passed out on our floor one night and threw up all over. Fun night. The puke stain was there for weeks even after emailing management. I was harassed and threatened by three women after THEY almost ran over my dog! If you like to smoke weed THIS is the place for you! If you get the lucky apartment (which we have) you can go into your bathroom and get high off of the neighbors smoking and sometimes it even lingers into your bedroom. I kid you not it smells like snoop dog is hitting a bong 24-7 right underneath our vanity! We have emailed management SEVERAL times about this issue and nothing has been done to resolve it. So folks if you're looking for a place where you: -Pay $75 for a parking spot yet a handful of people make a parking lot of the roundabout so they don't have to pay. -Live amongst hoodlums that smoke weed everyday, and live in squalor. -Have a management company tell you they are working on a problem for months that they never fix. -Have at least 50% of the elevators broken 100% of the time. -Want good police response times. They are right behind the building and you'll probably need them at least once or twice in your stay. -Want third-world country water pressure. Good luck washing dishes....no garbage disposal either...SUPER LUXURY buildings only I guess. Look no further this is the place for you! read more

I'm convinced this place kills the health inspectors and locks the body in the basement with the rats. There is no way that outside people do not see how filthy and nasty this place is. These people eat chicken wings and throw the bones on the floor. They get into loud arguments and it sounds like I'm in Stomp the Yard. They let their dogs poop IN THE HALLWAY and don't pick it up. The rats already have they're own apartment probably. I mean they let anyone live there. Elevator barely works so good look taking your grandpa there for a visit. The building smells like weed. They advertise it as a smoke free luxury building... That's a total lie.... Hallways and my apartment smells like weed on daily basis. ..I'm trying to fight with this issue since i moved in. The online portal is only good to pay for rent, forget about it if you need any help. Those are only few out of many problems STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING!!!! I've been talking with management about parking spot in October, they said that they have an extra spot. then no one got back to me as promised, in November (its only when i got a hold of them back) they promised me a spot in December 1st.Its already December 2nd. and still no spot... They made three spots for guests. Its even worse. Good luck for your guests to park there. there are always parked same cars... Looks like someone have long visiting guests(lol)... WARNING: THEY HAVE SUPER DEALS IN ORDER TO TRAP YOU INTO MOVING IN. BUT THIS PLACE IS GOD AWFUL. I have been here nearly a year and I have nothing but complaints. We moved in because it was urgent and they had a deal going on but this place is awful and way too expensive. They charge extra stuff on the rent every single month, it's always something new. People keep leaving their garbage outside their doors even though they have placed plenty of signs stating not to do that, both elevators have been broken more times than not. I have been trapped in the elevator before as well. The parking lot takes ages to get cleaned when it snows, they claim they're pet friendly but don't use pet friendly salt whenever they do put salt. People don't throw out their trash and leave broken glass etc out in the back area where people walk their dogs (NOT SAFE). They poorly maintain the grass in the back. There have been constant fire alarm issues. The hot water never works properly and the water pressure is trash. The mail is never brought to each person's individual doors how it should be. Customer service sucks. The gym equipment is not complete (the weights are missing pieces). The apartments CONSTANTLY smell like marijuana (do you, but I don't want to smell that while I'm getting to my apartment). Overall would not recommend AT ALL. Stay away. These apartments are fairly new and they are horrid. How do you have a 3/4 year old building and elevators that constantly crash? The back elevator was out for over 4 weeks, yet we pay well over $2K a month, & they're real eager about putting the rent in your door early, that is unacceptable. There is nothing luxury about their services or these apartments. Will NOT be renewing the lease I cannot WAIT to get out. The only good thing about this place is Tom, who is the super. This building has gotten so ratchet. It wasn't like this when I first moved in 8 months ago but now it's just crazy. People leave garbage around, yell in the courtyard which has a very loins echo and 2am and literally the elevators are always out. If you have a infant child and need a stroller or need a wheelchair forget about an elevator. The back elevator has been out for 2 months now but they are so quick to put rent checks in everyone's door 4 days before rent is due. FUCKING CRAZY! I wish I never moved into this place. When I first moved in it was nice and quiet and felt luxury but now it feels like section 8 housing. They keep putting up all of these rent incentives encouraging people to move in but all they are doing is attracting the wrong crowd. So disappointed. UPDATE: i HATE it here. DO NOT MOVE HERE! As a new tenant I must say my experiences so far have been great. Have been in the building for just about a month and pleased with my apartment, neighborhood, and the people living around me. Just came from a building sponsored BBQ which was stellar and unexpected. It was nice to mingle with the building. My apartment is very well light and views the river. My balcony could be a bit bigger, but the layout of the apartment is the best. As mentioned, the light that comes in makes this newer apartment gleam. The kitchen has nice new appliances and the cabinets are nice solid wood. Can't wait to throw my first party. The neighborhood is upcoming. The locals have been telling me of how Rahway has become hipper and cooler of late. I do see many new buildings and businesses going up and will love to see more progress. Being from Northern New Jersey, I must admit it will hard to impress. The best part of all it how close I am to NYC train. Takes me just over a half hour to get to work and I don't even have to drive! Finally, I am loving my neighbors. Most are in my age group and fellow commuters like me. Everyone seems to be friendly as well as the superintendent who lives in the building also. read more

To add to my previous review recently, packages are stolen on a regular basis to the extent they put signs in the elevators don't bother telling them when it happens, call the police. Right. I really should have read the reviews on here before i signed my lease in February. I don't know where to begin.. Everything everyone is saying is spot on. The entire building has a constant smell of weed and dog urine ESPECIALLY in the summer. Some people are too lazy to take their dogs out when the elevators are down (which is frequent) so they let them go in the hallways. The Building Maintenance Manager, Tom, is excellent. On 7/24/17 there was a dangerous dog attack at the elevator and the police had to assist. If you're really in to Pit bulls and aggressive animals, this is your place. For $1,800 a month you CAN DO BETTER. I had cleaner and better living in College. Kind of a ghetto place here. read more

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...Literally steps from the train station, Water's Edge is an excellent choice for NYC commuters. What really drew me in, though, was the clean, modern look of the units, which is very difficult to find in most areas of Jersey. Hardwood floors, quartz counter-tops, and dark cherry solid wood cabinets, high ceilings are a few of the decor pluses. The rent is reasonable considering the building is only about a 2 years old. There are not many amenities, but the gym is great for getting in basic workouts. Superintendent and maintenance in the building is amazing. Overall, a solid place to live. Office is located just across the street and open 7 days a week which is very convenient, and i love the secured remote access parking garage. read more

Property managers do not respond to emails and overcharges. Tried 4 emails to get a parking spot, and didn't fully answer my questions. Tried through 10 emails to deal with inaccuracies of security deposit and prorated rents. Charged me a move-in fee. The person that showed me the apartment lied about how much I had to pay and did not mentioned move-in fee. Charged me for parking spots and fees I NEVER had. Charged me for Tenant insurance which I had for the beginning. Glad I don't have a dog because they just added dog restrictions after advertising as a dog-friendly place. Awful. Lived worse-looking apartments in Hoboken and New Brunswick but at least the management was responsive. Don't come here. Will move out ASAP. read more

Been living here for a few months. In any apartment building you have to take the good with the bad. I've had zero issues since I moved in. Leasing agent Drina is a sweetheart and does a great job (I give her 5 stars). My only issues with the building are some of the tenants that live here. Thank goodness the floor I'm on does not have trash left in garbage room, but I have seen trash left on other floors. There's also a strong smell of weed on the 2nd floor and I wish they could throw them out (feel free to smoke somewhere else, not in a smoke free building where there are children. Have some respect for others) You can't blame management for some residents being slobs. There isn't someone watching 24/7. Also, I'm an owner of 2 dogs and make sure I clean up after them. There are tenants with pets that will let their dogs use the bathroom in the back staircase and elevator and won't clean it. If there was someway to fix these issues I would give this building more stars. Other than that, it is extremely quiet and peaceful and maintained to the best of their ability. read more

Management is non-responsive. Supposed to be a smoke-free building, but the elevator smells like pot often (EMBARRASSING!!!) and the smell of my neighbor's smoke seeps into my apartment (scary to think that I might be sharing the ventilation system). Numerous issues with others parking in assigned and paid parking spots. Not to mention the occasional party that goes on until 3am and no one seems to mind. Don't even bother calling the maintenance hotline, as they will not call you back. I have also found dog poop in the hallways and stairs more than a few times and lots of dog hair in the washers and dryers. One of the two treadmills was broken for 3 months, not sure if they ever fixed it; got tired of going down to the gym to check. Also just got a notice that there will be an additional $30 fee for utilities, to be paid to management in addition to what I already pay to PSEG. I couldn't be making this up. read more

People stay away! The management is the worste I have ever seen! Very Corrupt! They promise a lot and never deliver. The maintence is horrible and push all there problems away. They charge for parking outside the building when it is not there property, it is the townships. They do not plow the parking lot in the winter time making it dangerous. Garbage overflows daily. They promised a dog park a year ago and advertise it on there website but never delivered. Last month there was a homeless person found on the first floor sleeping due because they do not lock the back doors. The light outside our apartment is hooked up to our electric bill. They magically appear extra charges to your account if you are not on top of account. They add additional charges without letting you know. I used the coffee machine on the first floor 2 times and got charged 20 times. The grass is cut only about once a month and garbage is scattered all over and the area around the building. We had an issue with our heat in the winter time, it was not blowing warm air, it took them almost 1month to get back to us to replace it! The property manager consistently tries to avoid us knowing of all the issues. They simply do not care about your needs and just want to take our money! The 4th floor thermostat reads 87 degrees! Took them over 1 month to fix the Ac in the middle of summer time. They promised to install a fob system for the back door, that never happened. The back elevator has urine stains and reeks of urine. Stains throughout the building . Dog poop in the hallways is common from time to time. Also dog poop all over outside the building. No trash to dispose the dog poop. Please stay away from this building and all other Meridia. read more
