DO NOT RECOMMEND. The most rushed medical care I have ever received. The PA who attended to me spent exactly 3 minutes in the room with me. Within those few short minutes, she had time to conduct an "exam" and gave me next to no information except for a pamphlet that I could have just taken off the wall myself. She could not have cared less and was jetting out of the room as fast as she could. So much so that she was finishing her sentence as she already exited the door. She had a bad attitude and made me feel like an inconvenience for being there. They then happily charged me $270. Wants me to come back in 6 weeks... For what? Another 3 minutes and $270??? While waiting in the lobby I heard the receptionists talking to each other saying that the doctors had 80 appointments booked that day. No wonder why they only give each patient less than 5 minutes. I came to this practice in need of medical assistance for a problem in which they claim to be top specialists. But I left there feeling hopeless and wondering wtf I'd just experienced. Went in for a yearly skin cancer checkup with Dr Lockridge. I had been going there for 4 years. He spent maybe 3 minutes with me. I had to point out spots that he shrugged off as dry skin or nothing to worry about. I went for second opinion. I had 2 spots frozen and a 3rd after a biopsy is skin cancer. I wonder how many more patients he's missed with cancer spots. Can't do a complete body scan in 3 minutes. Im now having surgery to remove the cancer and will have more tests after the surgery. If you're not happy with your care, advocate for yourself. No one else will. Sure glad I did read more

Office staff was adequate at check in.. the rest of the visit wasn't. The nurse practitioner spent maybe 1 minute with me...seemed very unfriendly.. not sure if she was aggravated bcuz I called her by my previous dermatologists name..she corrected me with an attitude.. I just relocated here and had a Dr I visited for a few years.. it want on purpose. she didn't ask me if there was any other concerns I might have.,she didn't ask me one thing about me at all.. very disconnected. I did have a couple thing to discuss but she walked in & out of the exam room so fast I didn't get to discuss anything with her. Her nurse tech was kind of rude the way she told me to move my hair so she could see the problem on my back.. that NP never even touched me to feel the cyst., quick in & out not going back. read more

After being diagnosed with a Squamish cell carcinoma I was offered 2 choices of treatment, radiation or surgery. After investigating the radiation and seeing the less than great results, I opted for the surgery. They dropped me like I had leprosy. You see they make a lot of $$ on the radiation (28 visits=28 co-pays) where as the surgery is performed by a third party surgeon. They jerked me around for 3 months while I tried to get them to treat me. This cancer is fairly aggressive and should have been treated quickly. They couldn't care less. Finally I found a good dermatologist who informed me that there is another option for treatment, hopefully it's not too late. Waters Edge is the absolute WORST facility and they are strictly in business for the $$, your health or LIFE mean nothing to them. Shade Tree Dermatology has compassionate doctors who care. I am reporting waters Edge to every possible medical association. Beware!! read more

Absolutely dog water patient care and poor communication. I took the day off to help my elderly grandmother attend an appointment. She's not ambulatory on her own and needs help getting into a wheelchair and in and out of a car. We arrived to an empty waiting room 20 minutes late after calling to verify we should still show up and being told yes she would still be seen. Upon arrival and check in we were then told a different story and that she won't be seen due to the fifteen minute late arrival window. This was at 230pm when they don't close until 5pm. And I'll take the blame for use being late due to getting the address mixed up, I'm from Orlando not Viera. But for the staff to NOT see an elderly bariatric non ambulatory patient and not make any attempts to accommodate her? That's totally unacceptable in my opinion read more

Since Health First Dermatology closed with no heads up, I was referred to Waters Edge. It was time for my yearly body check and I had a growth on my eyelid that needed attention. I attempted to make an appointment. I tried calling the office and got hung up on, called back only to be put on hold, never picked the phone back up! Then phone never connected. Ok, maybe phone issues... tried another morning to get through and nope! I called the managers line and left a message saying I was attempting to make an appointment and explained what was happening with the calls. Nothing! No response, no care, nothing. But I keep getting reminders that I need a body scan!!! Nope, if they couldn't care less about me as a patient, you're not my caregiver. If I could, I wouldn't give any star! read more

Don't ever use Waters Edge Dermatology. My dermatologist appt was 4/25 and they charged me $100 consultation fee before the visit but then when I was there the doctor said it was a regular appointment. The first billing lady said she was too busy for me when I was checking out and sent me other lady at the front desk. She didn't understand how to process my $100 back to me and stated to call in a couple days if I don't see it credited back. i waited and I called on 5/1, requesting my $100 back. The lady refused and stated I had to wait until my insurance was billed. 5/10, I was billed $90.85 but didn't get it in the mail until this past Saturday. The billing department on the bill is a completely different resource and not the same place as the office itself. Two different departments. I called again on 5/20 and lady said that was for the consultation and I said they told me it was going to be refunded. She argued with me and then said well I will speak to the billing manager. I asked how will know if it was taken care of and she said she will have the billing manager call me back. I probably will never see the $100 again because no one is adding notes into my account or even taking the time to try and help me. What a scam!! read more

I was recently seen by Dr. Weltman. He is a very personable man. As a doctor, I was very underwhelmed. I grew up at the Jersey Shore, drive a convertible, I know I have sun damage. it is usually handled by being zapped. Nothing was done to me. I have had basal cell CA. My previous derm had me returning every 6 months. I was seen by HealthFirst 6 months ago, and was not thrilled with that exam, but at least they did look at my entire body. At this point, I may go back to GA to our derm up there. read more

In May 2024 I noticed a growth on my scalp. Health First Dermatology in Viera FL suddenly closed. Someone suggested Water's Edge since it was close to home. Early June I requested to see a dermatologist. I was told I first must have a full body scan and made an appointment for 6 weeks later. I argued my point and received an appointment for 3 days later. Dr Weltman came in the exam room and quickly looked at my scalp. No introduction, questions, or concern. Stated it was a simple Keratosis and nothing to worry about. Come back in 4-5 weeks and I will freeze it. I made the appointment but requested someone else because I thought he was too quick in his exam and conclusion. About 4 weeks later I saw ARPN Bean. She took a quick look also and froze it as the doctor had ordered. I thought she would also examine the lesion and if not sure order a biopsy. I was to come back in 3-4 weeks and see if the freezing worked. I returned for my third visit and I was told the freezing did not work so now a biopsy was in order. Three days later I was informed it was a Squamish Cell Carcinoma (SCC)! Two options were offered. Radiation Therapy and surgery. The lesion was now twice the size as in June. I called the surgeon's office (September) and they were backed up through Mar 2025 but they would try to squeeze me in. It's either radiation or wait for surgery. So I met with Dr Kanski and PA Leonard. I would receive 30 radiation treatments starting 3 Oct for a period of 6 weeks. The treatment was 99% effective and we got started. Each week, when available, Dr Kanski would check on the progress and noted that everything was looking good. After 6 weeks of therapy I was told it was over. In 30 days a scab would appear and fall off. Nothing more. No follow up appointment. Thirty-three days later I called Radiation to let them know it was still there. Several days later I went in to see them and they requested another biopsy and someone would contact me with the results. It was now friday afternoon and no call. So I called Pathology and they said it was still a SCC. So I called the surgeons office and they were working on getting me in. They did and Dr Stein (she's great) did the surgery. It will be a while before the wound is closed. It's taken a total of 11 months for 2 diagnosis, 2 biopsys, and 33 days of radiation. Two dermatogists could not be certain what I had. A simple biopsy would have started the proper care much earlier. It is important to catch an SCC early which is why I went there early June. Check office/doctor reviews. Maybe Water's Edge should do the same. read more

This was my first time at Waters Edge Dermatology, Merritt Island FL. Hopefully it will be my last. I was referred by my dermatologist in Massachusetts. The Waters Edge office is sleek and modern. Very attractive. To get my background, the receptionist handed me a tablet. The questions were easily answered "Yes" or "No." Very cutting edge! When I asked if I could supply the doctor with the list of my meds (I take 8) I'd prepared, rather than duplicate the effort by listing them on the tablet, the receptionist said, "The nurse will take your list." My appointment was for 9:45am. I was finally called in to see one Dr. Jennifer Viera at some time after 11am, a nearly TWO HOUR WAIT! I consider that "patient abuse." I had come up to the reception's desk, about to announce my departure, when finally called in. The nurse never even mentioned my meds or the list I'd prepared. Regarding the very long wait, I asked if they weren't overbooking and thus causing protracted wait times. The nurse prattled something confusing about "'The company' does the scheduling. And anyway "people come in with one problem and then point out other problems. So the appointments stretch out." Her response seemed "stock." And from talking to other patients in the waiting room, I determined that they had the same very long wait experience every time they came to Water's Edge. They were definitely not happy about it, but apparently their only choice was Water's Edge, Merritt Island. Dr. Viera was pleasant and in about 4 minutes looked at my scalp and prescribed a shampoo and "drops" to apply to the lesions on my skull. Viera seemed perfectly competent, but I felt she had given my case only the most cursory examination. Maybe it really is simple. She apologized for the protracted wait and left. My impression of Water's Edge was that of a slick medical money-making machine. It stands in stark contrast with my Massachusetts dermatologist. Dr Cooper of Dedham Medical / Atrium Health. He spent about 20 minutes with me carefully explaining his findings and the course of treatment. On a follow-up, the nurse likewise spent a reasonable time with me. On the basis of this single visit, I don't think it fair to either recommend or not recommend Water's Edge. But I do hope I don't have to go back. And wait. And wait. Come prepared with some entertainment. The wait to see the doctor will likely be lengthy. read more

I went in to see Dr Weltman for a mark on my eyelid that had appeared suddenly. His nurse was friendly and professional, and informed me that he will be coming in soon . He came in , in a few minutes and asked me what I came for. I showed him the pink mark on my eyelid and told him that it appeared soon after I applied an eyeshadow on that eyelid . He looked at it and quickly said that it is just another mark , just like the other marks on my face . He said that you have had it a long time but never noticed it . Then I showed him a skin tag in my underarm a, that I wanted yo be removed . He said ok . He took a tweezer and put some freezing thing on it . He did it 3 times . Then told me that it will drop off soon . After I left his office, I felt I needed to get a second opinion on the mark on my eyelid . So I asked around and made an appt with Dermatology + PlasticSurgery in Viera with Dr. Anita Saluja. I got a quick appt . I met her PA, Brittany . She came in, looked at the mark in my eyelid and immediately said it is contact dermatitis. She prescribed me an ointment ( steroid) and asked me to make a follow up appointment in 2 weeks . And also made an appt to get my skin tags out . By the way it has been 3 weeks since I have seen Dr Weltman and my skin rag in my underarm has not fallen off . He is a shabby job . I will not recommend him to anyone . I will never go to him again . read more

The first time I went to Dr Weltman, I was not impressed at all, he came in, asked me why I was there and I told him my concerns. He looked at me and said "oh, that's just old age and did nothing for me, didn't even look at my body or anything. I left disappointed. So I figured I'd try another Dr did the same thing, so I made another appt to see Kiera and she has found so much cancer on me it's not funny, I'm still seeing her and now have a melanoma and they won't remove it because I have a balance to pay. This was the billing manager, said I would have to pay half of my bill in order to have this dangerous melanoma taken off. She canceled my surgery date because of that. I'm not happy at all worth the office but I love Kiera! This review is for her and how good she is, the rest is for the office people read more

Dr Weltman's bedside manner harkens to a day long past. A time when your doctor was a family friend. I saw him for the first time today and was instantly at ease by his calming energy and friendly demeanor. We had a pleasant chat before getting into my issue; which was very refreshing! Most doctors around here double or triple book and don't even really listen to you before rushing off to the next patient. After a couple minutes of visiting we got to my issue, and he handled it immediately. Quite refreshing it to have a doctor make you wait and schedule more appointments just to milk as many office visit fees out of you as possible. His nurse was friendly and attentive, and his receptionists were professional and expeditious if not overly friendly (but definitely not rude). Will definitely be back at least for a yearly check up, and my wife will be visiting soon now that we've found a good dermatologist that's actually in our insurance group! read more

I went in to see Dr Weltman 10/23/2023 for Pimples and maybe boils on my body. I have been diagnosed with Aspergers and marked social anxiety so my father tells the nurse and she wrote it down for the doctor, she was nice took off my bandages and took pics of the pimples and scars and wrote down my mental and physical conditions, then said the doctor will be right with you. the doctor comes in with no introduction or hand shake. He immediately asks "why I'm here". I say "I don't know" because i didn't, it was so opened ended i knew i was there for my skin but he wasn't being clear. He immediately gets agitated and asks "do you know where you are?" a pretty straightforward question so i say "in a dermatologist office" then the doctor precedes to berate me, a 33 year old man with social problems nothing said about learning disability's. He then starts talking to me like a child and asks "do i know what dermatology means" so at about this same time we both say to start over. i state can you talk to me like an adult and he just freaks, metaphorically washed his hands toward me and says ill find you a new provider and leaves with the nurse who didn't replace the bandages i had on my back and upper butt. We waited in the same exam room for someone to give information on a new provider or what are next step will be. No one showed so we left with blood stains on my shirt and pants. No patient should be treated in this manner disability's or not. Robert Weltman MD. does not know how to deal with people, has horrible bedside manner's and does not know how to be respectful to patients. read more
