Beautiful space but the most expensive drinks I ever paid for. And I'm NOT talking about fancy cocktails with expensive liquors. Boo, I'm talking simple wines! . I paid $24 for a basic red wine (there's only one red wine on their list) and $18 for a classic Chardonnay!!!! That is the most ridiculous prices I ever seen for such basic drinks. Yes, the view is beautiful but for a small glass of wine, you're in for $50 for 2.. Doesn't make me want to hang out, sorry. I went there for APEROOF... The music was deafening and the space is so small, you can 't move. $4/ coat check + tip... You have no choice there, the bar is too small for all the coats... Came here for a drink after dinner Saturday 9pm. It was raining all afternoon but definitely a solid crowd and DJ playing chill house music. Drinks were expensive but strong so worth it! Great rooftop bar in terms of the view and atmosphere. It will provide you with one of the best views of Brooklyn. The place is spacious and has a big pool as well. My recommendation is to come here and get just a drink. The reason is that their drinks are very overpriced to me. I spent over $40 for just two cocktails. Much more than I'm used to spending. Stop thru with my homeboy for some afternoon drinks (on a Wednesday). 1st off, the views are AMAZING! I can imagine catching the sunset from that rooftop. The drinks were really good. Don't waste your time here. After exploring Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens for six months, I've never complained about the price of a cocktail or glass of wine. A high price has always been warranted based on quality of the drink and atmosphere. Not here. $24 for a glass of cheap wine. On another note, to access the Tower, you must take the elevator to the basement, and wait on a different elevator to take you up. To exit the Tower, a piece of paper taped to the elevator directs you to take the stairs (which are outside). I never complain about taking the stairs, but I found this odd. This place was designed poorly and obviously is a ripoff for drinks. The view next door at Lemons is just as fantastic with a much better menu and atmosphere. read more

There is a free just to get into the space. I get that, but hate it at the same time. Trying to get pictures from the water tower is close to impossible. Drinks were okay. Bartenders are overworked. They need help on busy nights. The lady collecting the cash to get in is really nice. read more

It is a $20 cover to get into the Water Tower. The reason for 1 star is when I called the place asking about if I can walk in or if a reservation was necessary, he said it was okay to walk in, BUT never disclosed the fact that there is a $20 cover per person to go up to the Water Tower. When I got to the front door of the Water Tower, a lady at the front desk says it's $20, and I said "how come no one told me over the phone", and she responded well I am not affiliated with the Water Tower so I would not know. If I could give them zero stars I would. Came here one night at 9pm. They told us they were busy and the next "reservation" was at 11. Being it was my friends birthday we waited. As we stood there we saw plenty of people walk right through as per the manager. 11 pm came and they told us sorry you can't come in it's full. After waiting for close to two hours outside we left and went elsewhere. Never ever again will I go here. I was there playing their display piano, I'm a pretty good pianist, and then some really rude and disrespectful doorman or whatever, stopped me mid-piece and told me to cease and that it was only for show, i said there is no sign (usually display-only pianos have a sign saying "DONT PLAY THIS PIANO") and told him that i asked a few people who worked there before playing and they said it was alright. He then resorted to physicality to remove me from the piano and i was kicked out in an extremely unprofessional fashion. His rationale didnt make sense: if he lets me play i might start a trend ,basically "give an inch, they take a mile" approach. Mind you it was 3am with like 4 ppl at the bar, and i was playing very atmospheric music, and a few heads were vibing and gave me some compliments. So in what way was i hurting this establishment, and why did i receive such a disgusting reaction from "security" there, it seemed like he was just trying to do something cuz there was nothing to do. I dont know if any artists out there know that feeling when others prohibit your expression and ability to share art and their reasoning doesn't make sense or convince you of an actual problem that's present. But this place seems really pretentious for having a piano out to entice musicians like myself and then claimed it isn't supposed to be played. Its hard to come by a tuned grand piano these days in the city. I understand stopping a kid banging on the keys but come on, I'M PLAYING ERIK SATIE YOU FRIGGIN SAVAGES. I could have just finished the piece and left but this guy had to flex his authority and put his hands on me. Not cool. Reminder: for playing piano! You really got your priorities straight WHotel. Great views, but really horrible customer service. Promoter is so rude and acts like he's above everyone, treats all the customers terribly. The bathroom is on a separate level and it's impossible to get out of...the elevator won't stop there unless the elevator attendant remembers to come and get you. Which he didn't and we were stuck there for 10 mins. They also gave us the check before we asked for it, and were trying to rush us out. This rooftop bar is not what I was expecting. I really thought I'd seen it all. But we got to the top and there was an almost full-size swimming pool. Just sitting there on the roof. No one was in it obviously, because that'd be weird, right..? Lounge chairs, literally a grass lawn with a massive bar, and a great view of the superior borough of course (manhattan). It doesn't end there. There's a water tower next to the pool. We climbed these weak-ass, squeaky stairs to the top of the water tower. And the vibe actually changes. Hipster posters, and techno dance music with no lyrics. Interesting crowd. The drinks were horrrrible. Oh my god the worst vodka soda I've ever purchased in my legal years, at least. This is not the place to get drinks like ever. Worst drinks ever. Again, rooftops just always have the worst drinks because they think their view compensates for their low quality drinks. He went above and beyond for my friend and I, and made sure we were able to have dinner on the rooftop. He then checked up on us numerous times to make sure we had everything we needed. I made a reservation for 10 people last week to celebrate my birthday on 11th October at 8:30 pm and then when we got there they just told us the rooftop was closed because the forecast was high chance to rain at night. What I actually understand and there's nothing to do to change the weather, but I completely DISAGREE that they didn't even called me to let me know they were planning to close or to be closed by the time of my reservation, or to warn me at the moment that I did the reservation about the possibility of closing depending of the forecast so I could have done a B plan for my birthday. At the end it never rained and of course we couldn't find a place to celebrate my birthday at that time for 10 people. I'm really DISAPPOINTED of this place, you made my night terrible and stressful. Walked in on a very quiet night and was asked if we had a reservation or wanted to pay for a $200 bar tab to be seated. Hosts were extremely aggressive and loud when we asked to sit without the mandatory tab or reservation. They then tried to shame us for walking in with no reservation. I've been here a few times and each time just gets better! First off let's start off with the view! Wow, just in awe of the unscathed view of the nyc skyline. Second which prob even beats the first, the staff but most importantly the bartender Mr. Joey! Do not go here unless you have a ton of money and are okay with really rude staff. A shot is 20$ plus tax, and the staff will yell at you for no apparent reason to "move over!"
