The bar room is beautiful, but since the event was so busy I couldn't really take in too much of the space. The views are nice from every vantage point outside and it was perfect for sunset. The bathrooms are gender neutral but I loveeed the papaya and dragon fruit rooms. So cutesy. I went alone but I could see my friends wanting to visit on a NY trip and get their pics or something here. If I were local I'd likely revisit on a less crowded night. read more

I genuinely wanted to like this place because the rooftop itself is beautiful, and the event I attended was enjoyable. Unfortunately, my experience at the entrance left a lasting negative impression. During check-in, the employee managing the entrance spoke to attendees in a rude and condescending manner, barking orders such as "show him your ID and show me you're checked in on the app" and "it's not difficult." When I politely explained that another employee had also asked to see the app, rather than simply clarifying the process, the interaction immediately escalated to a threat of denying me entry. There was no need for the conversation to become adversarial when I was trying to comply with the check-in process. Rather than argue and disrupt the event, I chose to let it go in the moment. Afterward, I attempted to resolve the matter privately. Over the following two weeks, I contacted the property's Food & Beverage Manager and members of the Events team. I also reached out to Marriott Corporate. Credit where credit is due: Marriott Corporate responded promptly, apologized for my experience, documented my concerns, and advised that they had shared the feedback with the hotel's leadership team. I appreciated their professionalism throughout the process. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts, I never received a direct response from the venue operator's local management. That lack of follow-up ultimately became part of the overall experience. It's disappointing because I genuinely liked the rooftop and would have been happy to return. Instead, both the initial interaction and the lack of direct accountability from the local management have left me without confidence in returning or recommending the venue. read more

Super cute rooftop bar accessible from the Moxy Williamsburg. The decor is a vibe and gives me a colorful, Miami feel. The view of the city is amazing! Service at the bar was great. We ordered the Rise and Shine from the Happy Hour menu and it was good. It's made with cold brew instead of fresh espresso. Hubby had a texts from last night which is a spicy Paloma. This review is for the rooftop bar during a private event I attended Saturday evening. It was simply breathtaking! The views, the food, the drink- all amazing. Private party for 160 guests. We checked in downstairs and took the elevator to the rooftop. We were greeted with drinks as the doors opened- very classy. We then walked into a gorgeous bar area that lead out to the open air rooftop with breathtaking views of the city. There was a live band playing and already a fun vibe. The views at sunset were spectacular and they only got better as the city lights popped! The Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State building visible! The passed hors d'oeuvres were awesome especially the falafel which were hot thanks to the pea-sized heated rocks the waiters carried them on. The spice and crunch were amazing. The whipped ricotta crostini were surprisingly good too. I wouldn't do the sliders as they were too large to eat while standing and balancing in formal wear. All the drinks were tasty and the bar staff moved as fast as they could with the crowd. The chocolate mousse dessert was to die for. There were these crunchy small malt balls on top that were perfect. Beautiful drive from Manhattan to Brooklyn. $60-ish Uber each way. Would love to come back! read more

A rooftop bar in NY can never catch a break when it comes to getting positive reviews--on any review platform really-- but I think this place is quite beautiful. Perhaps people's lofty expectations are as high as the rooftop bar itself, but what's there not to like about LilliStar? I see a number of reviews citing watered down expensive drinks and rude bartenders, but we're at a rooftop bar in NY...you're expecting cheap drinks and nice staff? You're paying for the views, and they have gorgeous views. I've mostly visited on chill weeknights where I haven't had to fight the crowds, and getting seat with a view and the attention of the bartender is as simple as strolling in, and I'm sure I'd feel differently visiting on the weekend. I can't remember anything about the cocktails I've had here admittedly, but unless super noteworthy most drinks start to blend together in my memory. Even if you're not able to get a seat on the balcony, the interior still offers lovely city views and really swanky seating with a beautiful bar. I'm going for the aesthetic, so I'd recommend bringing a person you want to impress, but don't expect a smile or the cheapest of drinks. read more

The staff here is extremely rude. After a night at the rooftop, they would not let anyone leave down the stairs and only had one working elevator. It was extremely hot and crowded and everyone was complaining. When we finally got into the elevator with three security guards standing around, they yelled at us because we did not press the button quickly enough (as they're controlling who comes in and out of the elevator). There was no logic as to why we couldn't use the stairs. I am from NYC and have been going out for years and have never had an experience like this. I've been wanting to visit to this place for a while. Finally decided to go with my free tickets before 11:30 on a Saturday. Little did I know this place was nestled on the rooftop of the Moxy Hotel. I love The Moxy So I was excited!!! The place was giving modern and upscale vibes. The drinks were very pricey my friend bought three shots of Hennessy $20 a piece. I bought 2 Long Island iced teas for $20 each as well. The bartender can't remember his name was so cool with us. The energy on the dance floor was there (at least for my friends and I) the DJ was poppin'. I'm not sure why this place has reviews that are below average. It's a fairly nice rooftop joint that's casual. No fuss or muss here. They don't enforce a dresscode so that's good. There's seating and standing areas here as well. I went with a group of people on a nice spring day when there was a popup fashion event. I got to speak with some people working the event, and it was cool. I was just hearing about their work since I don't have IG. They do have food items and drinks (mainly alcoholic drinks) on their menu. There's nonalcoholic drinks, too. Got the non-alcoholic spritz and the ice cream. The ice cream was really good. I enjoyed it a lot and would've gotten a second serving if it wasn't for the cost. I didn't taste the rose petals, but the pistachios stood out for me. I would like to return again. read more

Went for Peak & Pace's social so I'm unsure how it is on a regular day. But, I'll speak on my experience. Service- I got there around 10pm and it was pretty spacious. I went to the bar and ordered orange wine. Bartender stated he didn't have any so I asked for the red blend on the menu- he said he'd check. Prior to this I was waiting for a few minutes (even though there weren't many people ordering because the bartenders were dancing with a girl). Let's have a good time, but can I get my drink? I let that go, but when They finally came back it was the wrong order. At the end, I got the right order comped as a courtesy for the wait which I really appreciated. Ambiance- place is cute with pastel colors, funky light fixtures and an outdoor roof area. The outdoor area is nice, but needed heaters or fire pits because it's chilly at night. The inside got packed and they kept the door open which helped with airflow. There were three djs near a seated area for bottle service. They played house, reggae, soca, r&b and some old school. This place has been trending on Tiktok/IG.. and well, quite frankly I was drawn to what it seemed like. You take an elevator up to the rooftop bar. We were there around 7:30/8 pm on a Saturday night. I think they write online that the limit your table time to a certain duration of 1.5 hours but no one really came up to us to tell us to leave when we stayed past that time. There was plenty of plush seating and the space is beautiful. I liked how our table was just by the border of the outside area and the inner- so definitely inquire about that when you make a reservation. I also liked how they have female DJ's so the music is pretty good though music volume is loud. Now to the cons. Service is slow and we found out at the end that gratuity is already included so they have no inclination to serve you well. Our server was slow to respond to our requests and had to be reminded about certain things.. We did not feel like she really put in the effort to seem like she cared to pay attention to us at all. This place also catered to people in their 20's mostly. My friend and I are in our 30's.. ended up feeling bored, and saw lots of awkward dates/bachelorette gatherings during the time span we were there. Here's another thing. All the drinks we ordered had a smoky taste to it. We joked that it had to do with the Canadian wildfires going on... but clearly that wasn't it. Otherwise, aesthetically they did a good job. The Wu wave is blue-- looks like a fishbowl with an actual plastic toy sea creature inside (kinda can't go wrong with St. Germain but it's gonna be a smoky one- you were forewarned), and Quiver was a beautiful tropical pink with the dragonfruit and lychee tones. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience at this bar earlier today. While I was having a genuine conversation with another guest about local coffee shops in our neighborhood (that I initiated), the bartender interrupted, over-talked me, and completely hijacked the conversation to make it about himself and his own coffee experiences without being invited into the conversation. He stole the moment from us and dismissed my voice, and acted I was not existing in the seat when he excluded me and fought to control the conversation by raising his voice in an attempt to cover mine. It sounded personal, incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. I genuinely can't believe I experienced this type of person giving service. I even tipped well when I closed the tab the moment I ordered. At least, he should have faked respect for the sake of the tip. Later on the rooftop, I witnessed another troubling incident. A group of white women stood on seats to take photos without being stopped, but when a Black couple did the same thing, a staff member came running out, shouting "No, no, no!" so loudly that everyone thought there was an emergency. The double standard and the way it was handled were shocking. Between the bartender's disrespect and the inconsistent way guests were treated, I left feeling disappointed and very uncomfortable. Since we were staying at the Moxy we decided to check out the Lillistar for brunch on a Saturday. It's a little weird in that in order to get to the roof (of the Moxy) and the restaurant it's required that you exit the hotel, and take 2 quick rights to get to the elevator which takes you to the roof (although it's the service elevator of the hotel). It's a gorgeous space, with a great view and a number of tables outfitted with large umbrellas. In looking at the menu, it doesn't seem to be very brunchy. There are no eggs anywhere and no juices so there are no mimosas or bloody marys. Perhaps a better name would be day drinking with snacks hahahaha. That said, we had a couple glasses of wine and split some of the small plates available. The guacamole came with corn chips rather than the papadum chips advertised. It was a solid basic recipe. The crudite was endive, carrots, and cucumbers with a nice raita. The cauliflower was fried nicely in a curry sauce. Yum! read more

There was no line... no pretentious doorman behavior. We walked right in, were able to take some fire pictures on the ways up.. the walls are so dope. Enjoyed an event with Perreo Intenso but manager Sebastian yelled + accused my friends and I of heinous acts. When trying to explain the situation, he grabbed and with hostility escorted me out. I spoke with security who witnessed the situation and advocated for me but the manager on a power trip refused to diffuse the situation. The assumption + yelling shows the establishment is ran unprofessionally by Sebastian. All other staff were kind, but unfortunately, the manager is a reason why I will not be returning + not recommending the Lillistar to friends. Great experience! We went for a girl's night and it did not disappoint! We tried their signature drinks and jello shots. All of them were delicious. We brought multiple food options to try them out. The wings were so good and the sauce was addictive. So were the shrimp rolls. The bao rolls were good too but the samosas were better. Servers and service were so good. Very attentive and responsive! I went to LilliStar to celebrate my birthday this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised that the experienced matched all the beautiful photos I had seen on social media. My friends and I went at 2pm on a Saturday to get cocktails and enjoy the views. The booking experience was a bit confusing, and the confirmation texts mentioned cover charges and other fees for reserving outdoor tables but those fees didn't end up applying to our reservation which was great. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly which made our visit especially fun! I got the Wu Wave which came in a fun glass and also featured a plastic fish LOL. My friends got the Quiver and the Bumbu Margarita which were also super tasty. Overall I felt like the cocktails were beautifully crafted and were well worth the $18 price. (For what its worth I've had many $20 cocktails in Manhattan that weren't nearly as good as LilliStar). Naturally, we ended our time at LilliStar with the Jell-O shot flight! Sunset has a live DJ... and it's isn't too loud (sorry I'm 37). The views are dope as hell but it's not like you're on a high rise. But you get the nyc skyline. DID I MENTION THERES GOOD FOOD HERE?!
