He found Mr. Whitehead with Alabama Elite Fishing Guide. Me. Whitehead and my dad communicate via phone calls and text for a couple of weeks. Settling on roughly 2 half day and 1 full day trips in February 2023. Mr. Whitehead was absolutely professional from the start. His boat is very nice and easily accommodated us. All of his gear was too notch. Everything was supplied. On top of fishing we also wanted to learn about electronic since we run Garmin LiveScope at home and wanted to learn more fishing techniques. Me. Whitehead took time to explain all of the fine details. Both my dad and I went home knowing so much more about fishing at Lake Guntersville, fishing in general, fishing techniques that we can use at home and about electronics. Lake Guntersville did not disappoint. I stayed at the Wyndham (review coming) which sat on the lake. My room had a beautiful view and I could sit outside on the balcony and do my work in peace. I don't have to worry about running into anyone I know and so far everyone has been very pleasant. As I'm typing this, I'm getting packed to spend a few days here....i need to refresh my mind and spirit, and to me, this is a perfect place to do it!

I'm switching all my gear to aqua colors. They had a lot of gear and are an aqualung dealer, which was also a great surprise to me! I love aqualung and I needed a dealer to order a part that fell off of my regulator. Since there was 5 of us, we needed two boats and two guides. Both Captains Phillip and Scott were amazing. Our large catch of the day was over 6 pounds. Proof is in the photos. Our guides knew the lake inside and out and they worked every possible spot with success. I highly recommend Captain Shane and his team. It's worth the flight, the drive, and the time. Captain Shane was helpful in providing guidance for the best places to stay (Lake Guntersville State Park Lake Cabins), and restaurants including Big Mikes and La Esquina which is owned by an amazing young family.
