My friend and I had so much fun walking around Blackbird Island (Waterfront Park)! It's such a beautiful little park with amazing views and a river running through it. We learned that the main loop trail there is about 1.9 miles round-trip. As you cross the bridge onto the island, trails crisscross through a peaceful, natural area with interpretive signs, and you get to hear birds calling and see fish jumping in the water. Fun fact: Blackbird Island was formed from silt left by the old Lamb-Davis Lumber Mill, making it part of the reclaimed land that now hosts this lovely park. It's a great place to stretch your legs, get fresh air, enjoy nature, and just take in the views. I highly recommend stopping here if you're in Leavenworth! read more

This park wasn't what I expected, and I was surprised with how many beaches it has. It would be better with more signs indicating the beaches, since I saw some people swimming at certain points and didn't know how they got in there. The playground looks renovated with interesting equipment and multiple types of swings. Portable toilets were at the entrance, but I found out later there's an actual restroom building. It smelled bad in the restroom, and I wish they left the door open if they could. read more

Located in the recreated Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA, this riverfront park fronts the north bank of the Wenatchee River. It has a public restroom, off road parking, and a decent size flat sand beach for lounging. The river is wide and deep enough for kayaks to float on by with ease. It is very close (walking distance) from downtown Leavenworth and worth a visit just to see the scenery, even for a moment. read more

This park is one of my favorite parts of Leavenworth and especially if I'm with someone who is visiting for the first time. It makes for a nice stroll after lunch since it's within walking distance from downtown Leavenworth. There is a parking lot located on the northern side of the park on Main Street. Hiking trails span all across the park and along the Wenatchee River. There's also a playground for the kids in the middle of all of it. One of my favorite parts of the park is a little opening that leads to the edge of the water with amazing views of the river, the trees, and the mountains in the background. This is definitely one of those attractions that are a must-visit in Leavenworth. read more

A nice little side excursion just a short walk out of Leavenworth will give a surprising added bonus to the town. Leavenworth, usually teaming with people and all the going-ons, Waterfront Park is the opposite. Though there may be people walking sometimes with their doggo friends, its peaceful and scenic. Right within the Wenatchee River the sights are beautiful along with the sounds of the river going. You'd think such a place would require a long walk or drive would be in order to get here, but no just outside of town Waterfront Park is there. Plenty of openings and spots with terrific views to stop and appreciate or take some nice photos, including a bridge several feet above the river. Along the trails and around the park there are conservation and information signs which are always appreciated to give a little detail about what you are looking at, what swims in the waters and remind you to be careful and conscious of the wildlife. While we're enjoy the nature, we must be reminded that this is home to the life there. Doing a little research, a generous benefactor whose Plack is seen upon entering the park allowed for the park to have passive recreations - these as mentioned are the sitting area, trails, play area for kids among other things. Take a stroll through Riverfront Park while you're in Leavenworth. read more

This is a great park to spend some time in after strolling through downtown Leavenworth. It's pretty quiet and takes you along the river for which offers ample opportunity to explore. We enjoyed walking here with our dogs. The location cannot beat in Leavenworth. read more

We had the most peaceful and wonderful start to the day in this park a few steps from the charming downtown Leavenworth. This park felt more like a nature preserve or state park than your average community park. For example, along our journey, we spotted bear poop, sand cranes, plentiful shade and overgrowth, historical and nature markers and simple pebble beaches along the clear river water. We especially loved seeing how clear the river was and the sign of this community's history in the logging industry (through logs floating along the river). This park also boasts a small island, a few bridges, a pump (bike) park, soccer field and children's playscape. The trails are well marked and you can access all of the park for free. A must-visit while in Leavenworth- a true treasure. read more

I love coming down to the water in between bar hopping! It's so peaceful down there and there are quite a few trails for you to stroll through. On my last visit in August they had tube rentals to float the river! They also have life jackets available for everyone to use and stay safe while enjoying their time. I also met some friendly fisherman with giant nets and after just a few minutes of waiting we saw large foot long looking salmon jumping around! They looked huge and I know these rivers have an amazing history of giant, colorful fish but it was quite the show to watch. I'm pretty sure you have to be quiet while fishing or you scare them away so our cheering was probably not helpful but it was a lot of fun and everyone was very nice. While playing in the water a few smaller but still large fish swam around me. Seems like a great spot to bring the kiddos! read more

The park gets such great reviews I put it on my list for our visit. Inside there are multiple trails that link downtown, through Blackbird Island, along the Wenatchee River, to Enchantment Park. Inside you'll find trails, ponds, bridges, water access, picnic tables, and play areas. Maybe it's the time of year, but we weren't too impressed after covering much of it. Although walking through you're provided with a decent amount of shade, your surroundings right now are mostly thick weeds and brush. Funny, I didn't even notice until I was done that I didn't take a single picture. It's probably just not our cup of tea as far as parks & trails go. But the views across the water to the mountains beyond are lovely. read more

Every tourist town needs a good park, and this is a great one. We were in town for several days as part of a family reunion, and this turned out to be one of my favorite spots in the whole of Leavenworth. Whereas the whole town is kind of an artifice, this is the realest of the real. This is a river, trees, playground, trail, bridge, flowers, brush, and dirt. We got out, let the little kids run around a bit, and the big kids ended up having a pull-up contest on the playground, too. We came a little dressed up for family photos, and found several lovely backdrops. It was useful, it was needed, and most of all in a town like this, it was free. If I ever find myself in this part of the world again, I think I'd go grab some chocolates, pastries, cheese, bread, and more treats from the local shops and then walk down to the park for a picnic. read more

This park is so beautiful. ITS IN MY TOP 50 I spend a lot of time at parks. With my great grand kids. MY GRANDSON. MY SWEET SWEET BOY IS GETTING MARRIED! In two months. He told me it was the engagement party. It wasn't the engagement party. IT WAS THE BACHELOR PARTY! my sweet boys invited me to come along (the only lady around) because I am a true American who speaks my mind. Anyways THE PARK is beautiful. It has water front and there were a bunch of college guys there. They wouldn't stop yelling SATURDAYS ARE FOR THE BOYS and shotgunning beers. I just learned that. They were all very good looking except for a chubby redhead with curly hair. That fatty could really take in the cruisers though. Big time. There is plenty of parking and usually people there wth they're dog dogs on the water. This place is good for dogs probably not for cats of any variety. Except for me. I couldn't find the bathroom but I was told there are facilities here. I just decided to improvise my pop secret. I wouldn't recommend swimming in the main river the water moves quite fast. I didn't go in because my scooter got stuck and my grandsons pretty much left me for dead. They are still upset I voted for trump. I actually didn't have a good time here but I imagine other would. This is a wonderful park away from all of the tourists but still right in downtown Leavenworth. Our kids loved walking through the park and really enjoyed the Enchantment Park Playground as well as the smaller playground on the other side of the park. You have to be crazy if you are near Leavenworth and don't drive 20 minutes out to experience this beautiful place. The campgrounds are very nice and the beach is kept extremely clean. Beautiful place to set up a hammock for the day or pitch a tent for the night. So glad I stumbled upon this beauty! read more

First time visiting this park as most of the time I come to Leavanworth I just pass by to have a meal and then leave. This is more of a hiking trail than an actual park even though they do have a small children's play area with slides and swings. Along the trail are some picnic tables and benches where you can just sit and relax to enjoy the scenery. There are multiple benches along the way so just in case you get tired you can have a seat to watch the people rafting down the Wenatchee river. They also have a pretty big manmade pond area that is stocked with juvenile steelhead used just for raising the fish. My gf and I didn't have time to complete the whole trail as we didn't know how long it would take plus the map of the park did indicate that it was a big loop if you wanted to hike the entire park, but it is a very easy hike since the trail is all leveled and quite scenic along the river with nice places to take pictures. read more

I haven't been to Leavenworth in almost 10 years and was pleasantly surprised to see that the park had been updated and expanded to be even more awesome than before. My husband and I had our doggie with us and snow was on the ground. We let him off leash (there was no one around) and he was in heaven. He loved being able to run free smelling all the new smells and getting to try a new trail out. It was quite a large loop as we did it on both days we were in town and we worked up quite a sweat. There is a large playground which is great for those with small kids and the river is great during the hot summer months for labs, swimming, etc. I miss this park already as it was such a great time with very family oriented things such as benches and fishing ponds. My wife and I visited Leavenworth for our one year anniversary and read about this park in a travel brochure. The pictures we saw were pretty amazing but couldn't hope to hold a candle to the beauty the park offers in person. It was early January and usually the trails would be covered in snow, but the weekend we were there everything was pure ice. There were very few bare patches to walk on that would be considered safe, as the entire trail was iced over. That aside, the views were breathtaking, the air was cool and refreshing, and though only a few blocks from Front Street we felt far removed from the busy tourist scene. I definitely recommend visiting and spending an hour or two hiking these trails! read more

Pretty little thing just behind German Town. Clear water that reflects the blue skies during sunny days. When we were there, they were half-frozen. But it was still beautiful. It is kids friendly as well, especially during the winter season. They were many kids playing sleds all along the park. read more

This park features multiple lakes, flowers, berries, and has several loop trails for walking and cycling. the trail has excellent tree canopy and it is sufficient to block the intense summer sunlight and heat. Wish they had a little more river front beach access. the few entry point we found already had people hanging out, but we found a little spot were we could wade and cool off. There were lots of rafters on the river. The park itself is well maintained. There aren't any grassy areas near the water, so it's either water or grass - not both. read more

Gorgeous. As simple as that. You don't find a lot of sand in Washington that isn't connected to a coast, but the soft sand here is welcoming and warm from the sun. The water is freezing but it doesn't stop anyone from going in. The view is absolutely beautiful and you can sit river side and see the 20 inch fish flop in and out of the water. I love this park, I will be coming back. read more
