So great- our son wouldn't even get his hair wet, let alone put his face in the water at the start of his time at watermelon. Now he is confident and thriving in the water, and my mind will be much more at ease this summer than it was last summer. I had wanted to teach him all on my own, like my grandmother did with me, but the public pool was stress inducing nightmare for me, and my 10 foot ring pool wasn't adequate. So I gave in, signed him up, and never looked back. It's so important in Florida for kids to know how to swim, since everyone has a pool and there are beaches everywhere. The staff has been so kind, and they are tailored to instructing even young children without missing a beat. And when we had a concern, their office staff officer staff and management listened and addressed the issue immediately. If it were not for Watermelon Swim my girls would not be the exceptional swimmers they are. we have been going there since May of 2015 and have always felt more of a family presence than a business. The managers are extremely considerate and listen to your concerns regarding your childs swimming and always answer any questions you may have. I have been telling everyone for the past 9 years just how much I truly love the South Tampa Location. If your new or old to Florida this is a school that focuses on making sure your children know Water Safety and what to do in an emergency. if they want to join a swim team they have a swim team prep class! My son is 10, has autism and is non-verbal. I wanted to find a place that would accommodate his special needs. We've been with Watermelon Swim for almost one year now and it has been wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about the South Tampa location. My two sons have been going there since spring of 2021. Ms. Juliette is an amazing instructor. My older son who is special needs has made so many gains with and. Juliet as his teacher. Ms. Farrah is extremely helpful in assisting us with scheduling make up sessions. The manager Ms. Olivia is also wonderful and a great instructor, she has taught my two sons for make up sessions and helps create a make up session if there is not already one that works for our schedule. read more

We have been with watermelon swim for a year and half now for both of our kids! We love coming there, the teachers are all great! (BIG shout out to Ms Ariana, Ms Skylar, Ms Reese and Mr Ivan)! The kids are comfortable in the water, know all their basics and then some, it's easy to schedule lessons, and overall it"@ very well structured. We like that the lessons are on set days without the need to figure weekly when to come in for lessons. We love Watermelon Swim! Ms. Ana has done a great job at the South Tampa location of helping our daughter transition from Parent Tot 1 to Level 1. We have been coming since our daughter was three months old, but moving to being in the pool without a parent was hard. The team made it as smooth as possible, though, and reassured us that it was a normal reaction. I personally feel since we live in Florida swim lessons are absolutely mandatory, but I felt completely overwhelmed and anxious about my child swimming. I had a lot of fears and worries. We definitely recommend Watermelon. We did tried other swim lessons companies but I feel like watermelon is very professional, good with kids. My kids loves the teachers and also for me I feel at home. There are small groups and oftend with more than one teacher. My youngest (2 yrs) needed some time to the confident and the teachers let him be and helped him to feel comfortable soon enough and assured me that its fine and its was going to be better which it was. read more

Both of my boys completed Levels 1 through Level 6 Watermelon Swim South Tampa. They both started day 1 in tears and by the end were very comfortable and confident in the water. Our eldest has been swimming her since she was 6 months old, she is now 3 years old. She has learned so much and absolutely loves her current teacher Ms. Lucy! We just started our second daughter (6 months old) in the Parent Tot class. My husband was a competitive swimmer and it has been such a joy to see him swim with our girls.
