Fired this customer-hating, irresponsible webhost 13 years ago and starting yesterday, 12.28.22, they sent more than a dozen emails about a help request from 2009. Today, they sent 4 more. They appear unable or unwilling to stop sending bulk emails to us despite our pleas. These types of terrible situations were routine when they were our web host. They were routinely unavailable on holidays, Super Bowl Sunday, weekends or weekdays. Their hosting means frequent problems and once they're your host, they own you and you will have to fight to keep your site up. Don't gamble your website on this uncaring, rude, incompetent company. They can't even control their own outgoing email to a client who terminated them 13 years ago. What hell will you face if you hire them? If you do hire them, please try to get them to stop bulk emailing us about our 2009 help request. read more

I'm a little disappointed how things ended. We spent over 150K to build and maintain a site. The cost of the build far exceeded the original quote. I do understand how more things can come to light or there could be some unforeseen circumstances, and they may not have known the level of detail we expected, but it was not even close. We also presented them with pretty accurate screens of UX and UI that laid out everything exactly how we wanted it, so there was no question of what we were expecting. The developer they originally had on it, was actually really good. After they lost him, they had different developers bouncing around trying to take care of tasks and nothing was getting done. Simple extensions were taking 6-8 weeks, yet I was still being billed at $125 per hour, so our costs was much higher and jobs were not getting done in a timely manner anymore. We were quite disappointed and had mentioned we will be discontinuing services because of these reasons. There was no response, I messaged several times and still never got anything back, but I know the message was received because the current developer I was working with knew about it and I had never told him prior. So there was no smooth handoff, I had to figure out how to do the handoff myself. Eventually after I had finished, they responded when they found I was a little disappointed because it was not professional how it ended, especially how much we had spent for their services, but at that point it was too late. I will say, they were quite professional the entire time, until the end. UPDATE oct 19th 2021- CAUSED OUR SITE TO CRASH Without any notice, they caused our site to crash by deleting the CDN in which they set up for us and that we paid them to configure. Our new developers has confirmed this. I am a little disappointed they did not warn us or even try to transfer ownership to us, since we did pay for it and and for set up. We also saw someone from Beaverton, Oregon login our old hosting company website (wp-engine), because they sent us a suspicious login attempt, which I suspect is from them because they were the only ones who had access and they are located in Oregon, and I had to quickly remove them as a user. Not sure what they were doing. Be careful. Do your research. read more

These guys exceeded expectations at every twist and turn during the course of our website redesign. Building a site for over 40 attorneys is no simple matter and can be frustratingly slow going at times while attorneys nitpick over tiny details. Everyone at Watermelon was patient and responsive to us during the project, which I'm sure was frustrating for them while we were slow on getting things done on our end. I would not hesitate in hiring them for another project, and I strongly recommend them. A huge thank you to everyone at Watermelon! If you want a good website, you need to be involved in the decisions made for it and you need to get outside input. WWW is a good company with effective resources for your use. We have a marketing manager who handled the communication and coordination moving from our old, hard-coded-by an amateur site to a WordPress site that we can maintain. It was not easy nor without headache, but it worked well and we have no more problems caused by the old coding in the old site. We have hosted with WWW for five years and have never had an issue. Bots started taking down the old site and WWW worked with us to find some good, solid WP ideas and to reprogram the site. We appreciate the work WWW put into getting the data moved over to the new site and bringing it online. To get the results you want, you must be present and participate. If you haven't the knowledge yourself, you should be responsible enough to bring in other people who do have the knowledge. WWW put in the effort, we put in the effort, others gave feedback and we are very happy with the results. read more

I'll admit it: I'm an idiot. The first mention of these guys guys I discovered was on nwveg.com. I'm a vegan and I thought, why not try to support another vegan business? Turns out there are a lot of good reasons. I looked at their site and though their logo is terrible, the sites they've worked on look pretty good. I was launching a small business on a limited budget, so I called and spoke with one of their reps, who also turned out to be the programmer, who also turned out to be the QA specialist, who also turned out to be the producer, and who, until our relationship took its most southward turn, turned out to be their designer. I'll say up front that he did a great job setting up the back end. The site works really well between mobile, tablet, browser, desktop, whatever. I'll also say up front that working with this moron was the most exasperating professional experience I've had in the past decade. Everything was going fine (according to him) until he posted the site as "finished." It barely resembled the final design I sent him and was far from acceptable. I mentioned that in an email response and he blamed the difficulty of programming for multiple operating systems and browsers. (I viewed it in three versions of the Mac OS, two versions of iOS, and five browsers total - it looked identical in each.) Here's the craziest thing: He redesigned my logo. I want to emphasize that because he didn't think it was a big deal, but HE REDESIGNED MY LOGO. He didn't ask to do so, he didn't suggest any changes, he simply reset the entire thing in a different font weight and presented it as a finished product. And because there is no oversight in their company, it passed as a finished product. THAT'S FUCKING INSANE. Maybe I'm spoiled by working with designers in a design community, but an action as blatantly disrespectful as that would normally be viewed as career-ending. Not with these folks. Par for the course. When I sent an email of complaint detailing the litany of nonsense you've just read, the company finally saw fit to assign a designer to oversee the finishing of their product. A designer! $1.5k in? Yes! He stuck very strictly to my specific complaints and fixed all of them. Unfortunately, there were several hours of errors on other pages that I didn't mention on the initial email that I had to pay another developer to repair, but at least they did something. Did I still pay for more than their initial estimate? You bet! Stay miles away from this company. Go with someone local, irrespective of their dietary ethos. read more

I can't say enough how happy I have been with Watermelon from the start of designing and launching my website to the ongoing care it (and I) receive. Paul, Chance and Jalene all did amazing jobs, are good communicators and quick to respond. My website is beautiful, functional and very well optimized. I receive compliments on it constantly. I have to admit that I am somewhat lazy in my own care of the website with adding blogs, etc, but Watermelon did and continues to do such a great job with it that the vast majority of my business comes in through my website. They have really played such a key role in the success of my business. Worth every penny and more. I have referred many friends and colleagues to Watermelon and will continue to do so. read more

These guys are amazing! We had our company website set up by another company for about a year and a half and we kept having tons of issues and paid more and more money until we were fed. We were recommended to try Watermelon Web Works and the rest is history. Our website issues have all been resolved, the website looks and is working better than ever and they have an excellent response time. Sometimes fixing an issue in a few hours or over the weekend. Very nice individuals, but after 7 months without a completed project I am going in a different direction. As a business professional with limited time I was hoping for a web development company to build me an industry leading site. What I received is a site that the average person can build themselves, and is still not anywhere close to being done. They spent 4 hours changing 2 pictures for $400!! The Logo is extremely underwhelming, and looks like a Microsoft Word template. I finally had to stop the bleeding, and go with another team. No hard feelings as that's the way it goes sometimes in business and life. read more
