In addition, I'm told who will be coming to work on the projects so that I know who to expect. During our first phase we did both bathrooms and our kitchen. My wife and I were impressed with how quickly Rebecca learned our tastes and when we decided to do the second phase, which included all new furniture, everything that Rebecca picked out was perfect-the first time. We really appreciated that Rebecca worked hard to make sure that our home looked awesome but reflected our style, not what she thought our style should be. We had a couple of furniture pieces that were passed down from my mother and grandmother that we wanted to keep. The style did not fit with our new space but Rebecca had them refinished with a more modern look that worked perfectly with our new furniture. We have been continually amazed at the Rebecca Ward Design team's ability to design spaces that we absolutely love. We bought our home in 1998 and raised both of our boys in this home and our original design was definitely utilitarian. We told Rebecca that we were ready for a "grownups" home and what she designed is both beautiful and super cozy. Rebecca Ward and her assistant Leah did an amazing job on three rooms in my home. It's a small…read morehouse with all 3 rooms open to each other so decorating seemed impossible to me, but not to them. They took a dark home and brightened it up just as I asked. They listened to my needs and were amazing at giving me different choices and at times making changes to the plan to suit my taste. I was astonished at how Rebecca was able to integrate my great Grandmother's Asian table into the scheme as it has tremendous sentimental value to me. They asked what my budget was and they stayed within that budget. Everyone who walks into my home now are truly amazed and shocked at the transformation. Both of these designers are professional but personable too. I truly miss seeing their smiling faces once the process was finished. I would say that staging day was my favorite as they come in with all kinds of accessories that bring each room to life. I would not hesitate to hire them for another project. That said, while a big space upgrade is always welcome, it meant that our house felt very... empty, something that wasn't helped with the smattering of mismatched furniture we'd acquired over the years from Ikea or relatives. Enter Leah. We chose her on recommendation from a friend whose house she curated with a look we loved, so we wanted to see how she could help us establish a design vision and a cohesive aesthetic for our home. She was super professional and prompt in all of her communication, was never late to a meeting, and proactively checked in with us the whole way through to make sure we were getting what we needed. On top of all of that, my wife and are literally died with joy when Leah showed us the beautiful aesthetic she hand-picked for our home. She helped us think of ways we could arrange our furniture and accent our theme (coastal modern-farmhouse btw) with both super simple tweaks as well as very tastefully chosen furniture pieces for each room. I want to talk about how much I love my new bookshelves. We approached River City Carpentry about a…read morelarge project, at least for us. Carlos came to our house, on a holiday no less, and talked about what we wanted to do and provided a quote later. He was thorough, providing suggestions about how to approach a problem: framing out our decidedly builder-grade windows to tie in with the board-and-batten we wanted. And then there was the huge, floor-to-ceiling built-in-bookshelves project we wanted him to tackle with stain-grade wood. Through the whole process, from concept to completion, Carlos checked with us about what we wanted. He made changes when needed and was respectful about our wishes. Everything he did mattered to him. All his choices were thoughtful: with materials, trimming out the board and batten and windows and building the bookshelves. With the cabinet bottoms for four of the bookcases, he chose something with a nice wood grain and matched the doors up. It looks so good and now we need to respect the wood with a stain that will allow the beauty to come through. The result is something out of my dreams. Solid, classy bookshelves with some cabinets and even a couple cabinets with plexiglass doors. As Carlos said, we could drive a truck on these bookshelves now. No disrespect to the IKEA hackers, but I wanted something solid that would last a lifetime, out of real wood. Carlos custom-made the bookshelves -- no prefab cabinets. He was great with communication, both in person and by text when he was on his way for the day. He was always on time or even early. He has a great sense of humor and found us funny too, which is nice to have when you have someone working in your house for a while. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. River City Carpentry provided good quality service and a great value. Now I'm looking forward to the next step of getting our shelves stained and our board and batten and the rest of the room painted.

BTW: ALL US BANKS WERE CLOSED~Ooooof, i.e., I couldn't give Carlos a Cashier's Check for the initial deposit; I had no choice but, submitting a cash deposit instead . . . Aside, the scheduled door installation date was for November 24, 2023, i.e., on time as scheduled--of course and indeed confirmed days prior. During the door installation installing two doors, I was enthralled with Carlos adjusting the "X & Y axis" for bedroom door~LOL . . . Which Carlos called, ". . . plumbed." Regardless, Carlos is an expert, indeed! I plan hiring Carlos when I receive my EDC building permit for converting a Tuff Shed into an ADU.
