I am a Water's Edge Dermatology patient at the Vero Beach, Florida facility since August 2023. This facility prescribed skin medications to treat plaque psoriasis four times per year. However, beginning January 2026 the facility became totally unresponsive issuing new prescriptions. I saw my provider and had the required annual lab tests in January 2026, but it still took over two weeks for Water's Edge to issue a new prescription. I was due my second quarter medication in April 2026 and in early April 2026 I began contacting Water's Edge Dermatology requesting a new prescription. For the January prescription I was supposed to have two refills; however, Water's Edge only issued a single prescription with no refills for April and July 2026. I have made four phone calls and sent five text message in the last 10 days requesting the prescription. All phone calls go only to voicemail and no calls were responded. Water' Edge Dermatology has abandoned me as a patient without notice and is refusing to refill the medication they have prescribed for three years. Water's Edge also refuses to answere my phone calls and refuses to respond to my voicemail messages. read more

First, I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment within 6 weeks here after calling several other offices, and they see people on Saturdays! The person on the phone was friendly and helpful. I appreciate being able to fill out their questionnaires online via a portal. At the appointment itself, check in was a breeze. Reception was friendly. She says she warned me that the doctor was running 20-30 minutes behind schedule when I checked back with her 45 minutes after arriving. I was finally called back an hour after my appointment time. This is a chronic issue at doctor's offices. Once in back, the nurse asked all the questions about symptoms, which took maybe 10 minutes. Dr. Minni came in, asked the same questions as his nurse and immediately declared a diagnosis and prescription for meds--no questions of history, what we've done up until then, no alternative types of treatment, nothing to actually get to know us as new patients. Is this normal?! The doctor spoke quickly and was gone in under 5 minutes, so quickly that I didn't get to ask about a second concern of mine. At check out, I asked if I could catch him in between after his next patient. The nurse looked at me and just threw his arms up like he could do nothing. Rude. I'm already there, I waited over an hour to see him, and he was done in 4 minutes without ever actually listening to me. I told them I'd wait, though, and they eventually took me back to wait in a room for him. It took another 15 minutes, but when I finally got him, this doc spent more time explaining his disdain for hand sanitizer than he did helping me figure ways to avoid the issues I came in for. For anyone who prefers more natural remedies, this is not the place for you. I walked out without instructions but with prescriptions for 3 different types of creams for dry skin. Even the pharmacist had questions. Just not a good experience overall. read more

If ever there was a "puppy factory" for dermatology ...this is it!! Get you in/out as quick as possible. Left with 4 biopsies and no instructions as how to care for bleeding, scaring, etc. BUT that's only the beginning... gets a LOT worse. Never having heard back after making half a dozen calls that either went to a VM or were disconnected, finally got to the Pathology Dept where I was asked "you haven't heard from the Dr (Dr Lacey)?"... NO, heard from no one. After much haranguing I asked the pathologist to give me the biopsy reports. A few Mohs needed, a scarp/burn AND you have a Malignant Melanoma!! NEVER HEARD FROM DR LACEY! Plenty of independent dermatologist in PB County ... do not go here! They don't care about you just your money and cosmetic treatments. read more

I arrived at my appointment to have a mole removed (second time in less than a year and yes, they removed it last time too). I was told they did not take my new insurance so I asked how much today's apmt might be. Receptionist said "between $79 and $285" so I assumed $285 and said I would pay it. Saw the doctor for 2-3 minutes as he cut off the mole and touched 2 other tiny ones (one I never saw). Checking out my bill was suddenly almost $400 which I obviously questioned. Same receptionist offered to talk to someone if I waited in the waiting room. She said it was at least better, then another woman came out and spoke with her and it was suddenly $512!!!!! FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!! Greed is ugly in a physician. read more

She basically made fun of me by saying. No, we don't do anything crazy like that here. Maybe in the south part of the state. Is that how a professional supposed to answer a question? Shouting out Dr. Alissa O'Brien as the most amazing dermatologist. She cares for my entire family. From Skincare, Costmetic Procedures, Skin Cancer prevention, Acne solutions and more, our family of five really appreciates her as our doctor. She is brilliant and honest, never tries to "up sell" us on things we don't need and advises us on things we do. Half of our family of boaters are fair blondes with blue eyes and she makes sure we stay on top of prevention regarding skin cancer and does our yearly screens with a careful eye. If you are looking for an amazing dermatologist, please make sure to use Dr. O'Brien. The staff is wonderful too. Very Covid Cautious and pleasant. The office is super clean and nice. read more

I am super selective as I am in medical sales so I can spot great physicians and care. When I moved to Pompano I tried someone closer and was disappointed. I've been going for about three years. Have had a great experience with Dr. O'Brien, however, every time I go, there is some issue with the front office.. like the time I waited for an hour to be seen only to find that the receptionist forgot to put my name in. I had to wait another hour until my doctor came back from lunch. One time could be a mistake, bad luck, but every time I go there it's some inconvenience for me with little apology. They don't care. They have so many people in and out of that place, why should they? I'll be looking for a smaller practice for me and my husband. read more

I recently made an appointment for a varicose vein at the waters edge Jupiter location. The lady I believe her name was Betty was rude and not helpful at the front desk. After filing out 9 pages on an iPad my name was called to go back and see the doctor. After Juan zapata who is the vein doctor looked at my legs for no more then a minute. Told me I had to make two more appointments. This facility doesn't even have the ultra sound machine needed to evaluate your legs. You have to go back for ultrasound then go back for results I would guess this is a tactic to have more opportunities to bill your insurance. So overall if you want to have to take off 3 days from work or visits this location 3 spectate times do t make an appointment here. They don't make you feel welcomed and are more concerned with being able to charge your insurance as many times as possible. With of course inconveniencing you in the process. Do yourself a favor and do the research go to a real vein center not watersedge unless you want to be treated as a number, not have personalized treatment and want to be inconvenienced with by rude staff members. read more

Dr. O'Brien is an excellent physician- she takes the time to explain things very well. I wanted a consult on an expensive service and she was very honest with me and told me that she thought it wasn't the right fit for me and gave me other options that have worked out great. Everyone else in the office is great. Front staff is always so nice and helpful. I called to get an update on bloodwork and left a message on the nurses line, I was called back quickly and the nurse was very nice and accommodating and went above and beyond what I expected (and usually get) from a doctors office. On top of all that it is a beautiful facility- Will definitely recommend to everyone I know! read more

I was seen by Dr. O'Brien who was wonderful on 05-17-19 at which time she preformed two biopsies. On Saturday afternoon, June 1, 2019 I was left a vague voicemail by a Michelle Sell, Central Pathology Lead. I returned the call an hour later leaving a voice mail requesting the nature of my biopsies thinking the worse while not knowing the facts. Today, I called once again only to be told Michelle would be notified by email that I had called. Upon demanding my results Michelle responded making excuses for not responding in a timely fashion all the while being condescending. It seems there is a lack of manpower with Michelle not able to deal with her workload in a timely fashion. Though one biopsy is a basal cell carcinoma I do not have the confidence in Water's Edge to proceed treating me due to Michelle's lack of professionalism and her condescending nature both on the telephone and in her emails. While I have received the positive biopsy report Michelle is refusing to send me the other negative biopsy report stating Water's Edge has up to 30 days to release my records LEGALLY. I ask you, is this the patient care you would expect from a medical facility dealing in life/death situations? read more

Last weekend I took my son for the appointment to Jupiter Water's Edge Dermatology office. Front the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Everyone in the office was very kind and courteous. The wait time was to minimum. The nurse that assisted us made my son feel very comfortable and relaxed. When we were leaving my son said to "mom this office is very kind". Was there recently for a follow check for an allergic skin reaction. Dr Obrien and her staff were great. Rash has cleared up and I don't need any further treatment other then not using any products with presertives that I am allergic to. Will be back for a general skin check in a couple of months. .. Uncaring nasty staff. I have itchy welts on my arms. After a sleepless 2 weeks, taking its toll on my normally healthy sense of humor, I went to my GP and tried Benedryl for 2 weeks without much improvement. I made an appointment at Water's Edge. When I asked on the phone if they treat this sort of problem, her answer was "we don't diagnose on the phone". I had to wait a week for an appt., so I was just making sure I was going to the right type of doctor....rude. I gave my insurance info on the phone and was instructed to fill out pages of information on line, which I did. After signing in for the appt., I asked which doctor I would be seeing and was told that she does not know, she would need my name to find out.......I told her I could give her that information..LOL. Then, after waiting 15 minutes, I was curtly told that they do not accept my type of insurance and that whoever booked my appt. didn't know any better. I was in such discomfort and I knew it would take yet another week to book an appt. elsewhere so I asked if I could just ask one of their doctors to look and advise me to go to another dermatologist or possibly an internist. She said it would cost me over $120 out of pocket . It would have been so easy to take responsibility for their error and perhaps give me a courtesy discount for payment without using my insurance. My only consolation is in sharing that experience with friends who would have been coming for one of their many costly services. read more
