Prices are a bit high for what you are getting, but it's one of the few places in the area where you can get a room for only one night and that is open year round. Views and location are both spectacular. Staff are friendly, but they almost always seem short staffed. Have been able to afford some of the nicer rooms here during the off season and they are great. Other rooms are meh. Not much by way of breakfast except pastry so depending on your needs you will likely still need to eat elsewhere. read more

We didn't get off to a great start. Our room was not ready after check in hours began. The front desk agent apologized profusely and said they are short staffed. The hotel is walking distance to the shopping areas in Old Forge and right across the street from Enchanted Forest. We had a first floor room. Our deck had not been swept. Wolf spider webs on the railings and spider webs all over the deck. I looked at other rooms and didn't see the same amount of dust and webs. The bathroom was extremely small and the fan was broken. The room itself gave off a damp feeling but was overall very clean. One pro is the breakfast. It's not logistically set up the best. Lots of crowding and inability to move around, it still gets the job done. Considering that most guests have little children with them, it was hard to move without bumping into someone. The short staffed running of the hotel was apparent there as well. Both mornings the waffle batter was out, plates and knives had not been restocked. Guests made the best of it. The pool and sauna are nice. The floor gets very slippery. We enjoyed sitting out on lawn furniture overlooking the lake. The parking lot gets full. While waiting for our room, we saw many waterpark guest park in the lot and walk over to the park. It's not well monitored for that. We left one morning to go hiking and found no parking spaces left upon our return. Many vehicles without a hotel tag. The staff are all very friendly and nice. I only had one bad experience. I went to the front desk where a mom and a young daughter were checking in and we were the only people in that area. I wanted to buy a razor. I was about 12' feet back and near the grocery/items desk. I heard the staff member say since this is your first time here and then they both turned, looked at me and began whispering. She had already gave room info so it wasn't like it was any personal info I would overhear. Two more staff members came out and went back to the main office and never asked if they could help me. I waited about 5 minutes and left. Not sure why they couldn't jump in and help at the grocery/items desk. Other than that experience all staff members have been amazing and helpful. read more

The staff at this inn were all very nice & helpful. We enjoyed being just across the street from enchanted forest since we still have a nap age child- we were able to come & go as we please. While I'm sure this place has a lot of great rooms, we definitely were in probably the worst one. Every room has access to a view of the park or the lake- our room happen to be the only one on the side so our view was the parking lot. We parked close to our room so we could hand bags over the balcony (since we have a baby we have to travel with a lot of stuff). We unfortunately got completely blocked in by a bus (who hit the facility right by our room over 3 times & i had to call the front desk while it was happening because it was RIGHT next to our room & SO SCARY!!) i asked the bus driver repeatedly- over 4 times to move his bus because we could not leave to go to dinner as we were blocked in!! he was so beyond rude & refused to move. He was picking up a bunch of guests and they all just stood around outside of the bus talking for like 30-40 mins. The hotel should NOT have allowed this guy to park there & block so many hotel guests in. Our poor kid who traveled all day was so hungry & we couldn't even go get her dinner because this jerk wouldn't move his party bus that he crashed into the outside of our room. The whole porch (& the inside of the Inn) was FILLED with huge ass spiders, the mini fridge was about big enough for 2 cans of soda & our table was like broken & wobbly/ unsafe for a baby to sit at for sure- the room they had available was 2 queen beds & it was set up like a weird long hallway with beds in the middle- VERY poorly laid out- there was no place the pack & play fit with out being in the way or directly in front of the A/C (ewww) & the a/c unit was FILTHY. My husband liked the continental breakfast so we didn't have to go elsewhere to feed the baby in the morning but honestly would it kill you to have some eggs? Lots of sugar & carbs available tho. Over all it was in a good location but next time we will probably skip the stay & drive the hour back to civilization because the Inn was INNcredibly expensive for what it ended up being. I assume most people don't spend much time at the hotel & unfortunately we just happened to have probably the worst room & a baby who naps for a few hours in the day so we were there a lot. read more

Pros: Location and Views Cons: Arrived in our suite and the coffee table had dried yogurt (we think) on it. Suite felt dirty. Other than the bathroom everything needs to be updated. My husband and I booked a weekend stay in a king suite. The room was supposed to sleep six however had a king size bed and a pull out queen couch. My daughter had to sleep with my husband and I. The worst part of the trip was waking up Sunday morning covered in bites on the right side of my body with my eye swollen shut due to bedbugs. When my husband informed staff members they ignored his complaint. This was vey upsetting and I will never return. read more

I absolutely adored my stay here. The staff were all remarkably caring. I came with my elderly grandfather, and everyone was incredibly accommodating. The hotel has a rather rustic feel to it, and has a gorgeous view overlooking the lake that I spent a lot of time sitting on in the evening. The breakfast was a standard continental. It wasn't a five star gourmet meal, but it did the job and gave me energy for the day. We came during a very busy season, where the summer tourism was really beginning to uptick. The hotel, while still remarkably understaffed, still made it a point to constantly check up on us and make sure that everything was great. I can't wait to go back in the winter. read more

Having recently stayed here with family, I can tell you it's very old and very tired. It needs a critical upgrade. Things seem to be falling apart, and I sincerely wonder why some things have been let go. For instance, we found only two smoke alarms in the suite with two bedrooms. The suite also had an efficiency kitchen. One smoke alarm was in a bedroom another was in the loft area. Not one single smoke alarm in the kitchen or living area. We tried to use the old style coil burners on the stove top, and, they began to smoke because something was on them. We were afraid the alarm would go off, and noticed there wasn't any. The surface light on the microwave did not work, and the lighting in the kitchen was so dark you could barely wash what dishes you did use. Most of the lamp shades were just propped on the lights. The floors were disgustingly filthy, it is very, very old carpet and needs to be replaced, or at least shampooed. The children's feet were black from walking on it. Needless to say we wore something on our feet the whole stay because of this. I realize they are in a prime location to the water park and that is why they are busy. Owners should take a serious look at upgrading the rooms. We will quite honestly never go here again, not very relaxing after a long day of playing and visiting sites in the area. Too bad. read more

Booked a room for 2 nights for our anniversary. The hotel is in a convenient location close to everything. We had one of the deluxe rooms with a loft overlooking the lake. Room was beautiful. TV in living room and bedroom. Room also has fridge and microwave. There's a spiral staircase going to the loft which is nice. Continental b'fast served in the morning, but there are better b'fast options in town (Walt's Diner is a must). There is also fishing allowed from the docks at the hotel. Nice balcony over looking the lake from our room. The hotel is a little outdated but kept clean. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Spent 2 nights here. First off, had to wait outside 15 minutes till 2pm although room was ready. Room felt grubby, carpet looked and felt dirty and old, couch felt dirty, towels were threadbare and small, no coffee maker in room although Derrick assured us there would be, paper thin walls. In short, not what we would have expected for $300 per night. Also they do not do room service each day which was understandable due to covid but they did not advise. Good place to stay if going to Water Safari and use the 'Stay n Play' package. Rooms and hallways in desperate need of an update. Air conditioner in room was horrible, very loud and no auto control. Nice balcony with the lake veiw. Room was clean but old decor. Fridge in room did not keep our food cold. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had french toast sticks, cereal, muffins, bagels, oatmeal and fruit; the normal for a Continental Breakfast. read more

After staying one night on the other side of the bay at a 'motel', it was a relief to get a room here for the rest of our stay on the OF area. Our room was well equipped with a seating area almost separate from the sleeping area (and 2 TV's) and had a great view that overlooked the water. The only complaint was the noisy mattress. You couldn't move without disturbing the other person. The indoor pool and sauna and continental breakfast were nice pluses as well as a good wi-fi connection. I can imagine summer would be extremely busy in this area with a lot of kids since there's a water park across the street. But during mid-October it was almost empty and peaceful. Initially, our stay was great. They were very nice and the room was clean. However, I had booked a 2 night stay MONTHS in advance and got a really great rate. At the time of our stay, I changed it to only one night and paid just as much as I would have been paying for 2 nights. ($97 for one night and $108 for 2 nights per my email) When I called to ask about this, the customer service rep was rude and said "we're allowed to change how much the price is at any time". She also stated that I should have received a "rate increase" email stating that this would happen, which I did not. I will never stay here again. read more

A bit overpriced for the basic and outdated accommodations, but if you're going to Enchanted Forest, you can't beat the location. There's a ramp for wheelchairs but the bathrooms are not easy to use for disabled people. A continental breakfast is included. Great place to stay as a family especially if you are going to Enchanted Forest Water Safari. Wonderful view of the lake from our room and very relaxing. Beds were so comfortable especially after a long day of chasing the kids around the park all day. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area. If you bring your kids make sure they don't mind smelling Weed in the hallways, other than that it's fine for the limited below average hotels in Old Forge. Hotel works for young people snowmobiling, drinking and smoking pot which is great without the family. read more

Such a nice place to stay for a family of four making a trip to Enchanted Forest. We didn't even need to drive to the park, we just stepped out of our hotel and walked across the street. Our room was clean and the view was great. The pool temperature was deliciously warm and had a great view of the lake. WiFi was super strong and the continental breakfast was filling. The only con of this establishment was our hotel door. Our room was right next to the lobby (which was separated from the rooms by a hallway door) and every time someone opened the hallway door to come/go to the lobby, our room door would move and slam loudly. Other than that, I'd stay at the Waters Edge again. read more

A follow up to my original post, after speaking with the hotel manager, she told me that they are indeed going to put up more signage that strongly discourages feeding the ducks and seagulls. Also will verbally tell guests upon check-in. Another issue I forgot to mention is kids running full speed down the hotel hallways, at all hours. It is really noisy and bothersome. The parents should know better and should tell the kids to WALK. But over all I enjoy my twice and sometimes 3-times yearly stay at WEI and I will be back. read more

Disappointed! Despite being the newest and most modern hotel in the Central Adirondacks, its a typical Central Adirondack hotel. No upgrades in years with the exception of flat screens and a poor wi fi connection. No paint, no new carpet, and the decks facing the parking lot is not long enough for a guest to walk around the Adirondack chair, they must climb over it! The lobby was nice as well as the staff. They do have a "stay and play" package which cost me $115 extra for the Enchanted Forest amusement park (which is owned by the same person). I was told it was good to use Monday thru Thursday. One would think that I had access to the park each of those days! Nope! A one shot deal! The BBB will be updated on this one. Then my son got sick, so I had to leave. I was told no refunds. I asked the front desk if a parent died, or my burned down if I could get a recund. Nope! I will not return. Suggestion; use AirBnB! read more

This place is awful, told it was a suite, it was not separate rooms!! The stairway fire door is locked from inside (against NYS fire code) and you (can die). Hours of the pool and gym suck, the breakfast is cold cereal and cold frozen waffles what a joke. Only thing this place has going for it is the location. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

An unexpected emergency came up, so I called five days prior to check-in and was told that we could not cancel. Their website says you can cancel up to five days prior, but they say they don't count the day you check in, so it's really a 6-day prior notice cancellation policy. I've never heard of a hotel requiring you to cancel 6 days prior or they will charge your credit card the full amount! The woman I spoke was nasty, interrupted me and refused to refund a single dime of my money. I strongly recommend no one book this place because if an emergency comes up, you will lose all your money. read more

We needed to use their conference room for a deposition because this was the closest Inn that we could use; despite discussing a beverage set up and a conference room set up with the MANAGER, neither was done. No One was very nice at all and we will never stay or recommend this place to anyone. read more

The hotel was very clean, the lobby is beautiful, and the view was absolutely gorgeous from our room. The staff were very nice, and the WiFi worked fine. You can tell the hotel is an older building, but it is very well maintained, at least all the parts we encountered. However, I was not impressed with the room for the price we paid. The room was clean, but the bathroom was tiny, and the actual room itself was small and nothing special. My only real issue is with the pricing of the rooms, when I pay almost $200 for a hotel room I expect something nicer, not what we got. The breakfast was OK, nothing special, but nothing terrible either. The convenience of the location is where I think the charges come in, and I get that it is nice to just cross the street to the park. But next time I think we will walk a bit farther, and pay less for a room for the night. read more
