Recommended stop! We got two burgers and a kids chicken finger meal. It was excellent! They were busy, but the wait was worth it. They have inside seating, bar seating and outside seating. The outside is a patio style with live music as well! We had brought our dogs so we couldn't stay inside but it was just as nice to look at the water and eat. The staff was very nice.

Stopped here for a bite to eat after hiking a mountain in the Adirondacks. A nice location, right across the street from the lake. A solid, but nothing special bar and grill. I had wings, which were pretty good and fries which were meh. I washed them down with an ice cold Utica Club. If you need to grab a bite to eat don't be afraid to stop at this rustic restaurant, just don't expect being blown away by it.

The lobby is very rustic and comfortable with couches by a fireplace. The rooms are basic but comfortable. During my 3 day stay I did not have any issues and slept well. Breakfast is included and very standard - coffee from a machine, cereal and bagels, along with a waffle machine. In the area this is a great lodging option. We were traveling for work and our rate was very affordable as a result. The staff was nice and helpful when we had questions.

The lobby is nicely decorated and has some seating. The hotel is two levels, but there is no elevator so request a room on the lower level if you have mobility concerns. The room was pretty sparse but clean as I mentioned before. A small tv, microwave and fridge were provided. The bedding could be better. Instead of a warm comforter, there's little more than a thin blanket given to sleep with. There's an extra blanket in the dresser if needed. Our room faced the back of the property which was quiet. Our friend's room faced the parking lot and they could hear people drinking and talking outside until 3AM. The continental breakfast provided is good enough if you need a quick morning bite. Though if you want a full breakfast, go to the Center St diner, about a 5 min drive from the hotel. They don't have online booking so you have to call up and relay all of your information over the phone to book. They take a one night deposit at the time of booking. The onsite restaurant called Boondocks is pretty large and had some good food. Your room comes with a free drink token for Boondocks. They are open until 12AM. Overall, this was a decent stay in the town. I believe it may be the only hotel around.

After 42 miles on the trail individuals in the group had some equipment issues that needed immediate attention before committing to the next 45 mile section of trail. We were not anticipating staying in Piseco but it was a must. We approached this picturesque historical Adirondack property (not far from Piseco Bob's and the NPT trailhead) after 4 days on the trail... without a shower... to inquire about rooms to sort our issues in a dry place. We smelled like a gang of wet bears that just emerged from hibernation... wandering a hot landfill for food; absolutely repulsive. The inn keeper, Jen, is very accommodating to hikers. She was able to rent us 3 rooms (cheaper than any mainstream hotel ...anywhere on the planet), offered us hot coffee, and assisted us in finding laundry services to clean our heavily punished clothing. We were also invited to the $12 breakfast buffet and told to make ourselves at home while on the property (kayaks, beach, porch, etc). Jen and her staff are amazing humans and infinitely accommodating. They are truly the unsung trail angels of the NPT.

The motel offers guests kayak and canoe usage free of charge, with larger boat rentals available at very reasonable rates. The proprietors, Rick and Chris, are genuinely friendly and will bend over backward to provide you with anything you need (within reason). Gas grills and firepits are available, with firewood available at very reasonable prices. Took advantage of the chairs and picnic areas, both motel and lakeside, to enjoy the tranquil evenings and chat with the neighbors. Having Summered in the area for years in my youth, I try to get back every year or two. And when I do, the Oxbow is my motel of choice. For a genuine Adirondack experience, it provides everything and lacks nothing.

When we stayed there back in August, there was a little farm vegetable and fruit stand in front of their place--which was terrific, because we were able to get fresh veggies and fruits to have for with our meals. We also rented a canoe and a kayak to spend time in the evening and morning on the beautiful lake watching and listening to the loons. Utica Hampton Inn has lost that loving feeling…read more The Good: There was plenty of parking. There were enough towels in the room for a family of four. The Bad: We checked in on a Friday between 5-6 and the staff was not welcoming. They were just "going through the motions" and there was no joy in their work. When we made our way to the room, it was obviously well used and not as clean as we are used to when staying at a Hampton Inn. The carpet was "tired" and looked like it could use a good cleaning. There were smudges on the mirrors, paint peeling from the ceiling in the shower, and a giant cobweb hanging down over the sink in the bathroom. The ugly: Two of the bed pillows (out of 8) where very well loved and did not have any life/support left in them so we called the front desk to get them replaced. The agent we spoke with stated that they do not deliver to the room so we needed to come to the front desk to get replacement pillows. So when I took the pillows to the front desk, I genuinely felt that I was inconveniencing the staff. When I described why I was turning the pillows in, I watched as the staff member that I handed the pillows to openly mocked me as she described my concerns to a fellow staff member. When in Utica, I would avoid this location.
