There are three distances: 18 miles, 50k (31 miles), and 50 miles. The course runs along sections of the Lake to Ocean trail following the orange blazes on single track trails that are typically wet this time of year. However, a sever drought which precipitated the Everglades fires left most of the trails on dry conditions. The race is basically a charity that donates money for musical instruments in a school in Argentina. The race is well supported with excellent aid stations. It's a very good race if you are trying to prepare for Keys 100 or the Lake 2 Ocean race in May and June respectively, as temperatures are usually hot for this race. The single track trail meanders through wonderful everglades area and is home to many wild animals including snake and alligator. All year round there is recreational hunting and fishing. There is a youth camp but you'll have to have children to overnight. Otherwise, camping is permitted in many locations as well. If you love trail races and don't mind getting dirty this is a great one.

It kind of reminds me of Two Rivers in Sevierville, Tennessee. Not sure if you've been there or not. PBMC is very convenient to everything. And Jupiter is an incredible town. Really beautiful area with so much to do all around you. And of course West Palm is also incredible and within 20 minutes. Palm Beach Motor Coach has a very nice pool and clubhouse here, a dog park and a nature preserve with bike path. Basically, it's a loop with two rows of RVs, one row enjoying a nice lake view with fountain. But the back row also has some views and some larger lots. The road on the loop is beautifully lined with trees and lights. It's pretty during the day and more so in the evening. We ate at Michael Jordan's restaurant and Tiger Woods also. I don't know about you, but I am always in awe of any celebrity. But by far, the best restaurant we ate at was Sant Ambroeus Palm Beach. So much to do, so much to see and I'm sure it's even better when everything isn't... Due to Covid!

This park is named in honor of the Phipps Family descended from Henry Phipps Jr. (1839-1930), a…read morebusinessman and philanthropist. Phipps grew up with Andrew Carnegie as a friend and neighbor. As an adult, he became Carnegie's business partner in the Carnegie Steel Company and as a result became very wealthy. The Phipps family donated to the town of Palm Beach one of the most significant gifts in county history, an ocean to lake property that is now known as Phipps Park. The Phipps family had established public parks in Palm Beach and in the New York area. Phipps Park on the St. Lucie Canal was made possible with a land trade involving Michael Phipps which resulted in the public recreation facility. Michael, born January 10, 1910, in England was also associated with the St. Lucie Training Track for thoroughbred horses on SR 76. He passed away on March 13, 1973. Phipps Park is part of the St. Lucie South Recreation Area which has a 55 acres of camping and conservation land on the Okeechobee Waterway. In 2006 FEMA installed 35 traditional primitive campsites, and 24, 20-amp electric sites during the 2006 hurricanes when the park was being used for FEMA housing. Campground renovations began in 2018 and continue to this day. There are now 99 RV sites and 19 adventure tent sites that come with canvas tents. In the park you will also find hiking trails, fishing pier, a new boat ramp and dock, showers, laundry facilities, picnic pavilions, and restrooms. This park is popular with anglers who enjoy fishing both fresh and salt water. Next to the camping area is the St. Lucie Lock and Dam built in 1941 and managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers .The lock was built for flood control replacing the natural outflow of the St. Lucie River from Lake Okeechobee. This waterway is now part of a cross-Florida navigational route connecting the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Okeechobee and on to the Gulf. On the north side of the lock, the one mile St. Lucie Nature Trail traverses in a one mile loop through a subtropical forest next to a primitive group campsite. There is also a volunteer manned visitor's center which provides information on the history of the lock and the local ecosystem. With the historic lock, fishing options, and hiking trails, Phipps Park is worth exploration even if you don't plan on staying overnight to camp.

We have always found the host to be friendly, helpful, and easy to contact. The house, which has both upstairs and downstairs units, rented separately, is beautiful. (I think the whole house can be rented as well.) We've been in both, at different times. Everything is very clean and modern. Comfortable beds, and the downstairs has a lovely kitchen. Upstairs has a balcony and totally new bathroom. The pictures are accurate. We also love the location. Lots of restaurants along Ocean Drive. The beach is easy to access and the host will give you a key to a private parking area. Highly recommend.

"Animal-Friendly", Now only Dogs, but no cats according to the owner and now he won't take dogs after this visit. My daughter has dogs. HE himself canceled our reservation and I have to wait 2 weeks to get my money back. It took less than 5 min for them to take it out of my bank account. 2 weeks to get it back. He was trying to get me to cancel so he could charge me 50% fee for cancellation after 24 hours. I'm glad I drove by to look at the place before my family drives all the way down here to stay at this dump. With a creep running it. I have pics to prove this. PS he also owns the bottom floor with is called Tropical Oasis. Same garbage just downstairs.
