I had a plan to stay at the RV park for five nights and I ended up leaving after the second night due to no cell services have (AT&T) & the road noise. They can't control either of those issues the sight was big and the place was very peaceful. (Beside the road behind my RV pad) The maintenance guy picks up trash twice a day and very nice. The lady in the office was very nice as well. The pool was clean and relaxing. The park does provide WiFi but Maybe I was not in the area where it was fast.

We really really enjoyed staying here! The people that run the place are just over-the-top friendly and nice! The park is quiet and quaint and very very clean! Its really pretty too, right on the water! It's a very safe gated park and they go out of their way to have things available that make everything just perfect! They don't have cable but they offer Wi-Fi and we got tons of channels on our TV. They have full hook ups which was awesome too! They do have a swimming pool that looked really clean and fun but we did not go in it. The town is a little ways away to go eat but we would highly recommend Lightsey's if you want an absolute fantastic meal! It was like an experience going there! We drove up to see views of the lake like the owners of the RV park told us to. It was an amazing view. You just go down the road from the RV Park to Port Mayaca and drive up on the hill! What a view! Great times in Okeechobee!!!!

Pads are large and beautifully landscaped.

This is my 3rd year running JW Cornette's race which is hosted by race director Christian Stewart…read more The race is small and maxes out at 100 people. There are three distances: 18 miles, 50k (31 miles), and 50 miles. The course runs along sections of the Lake to Ocean trail following the orange blazes on single track trails that are typically wet this time of year. However, a sever drought which precipitated the Everglades fires left most of the trails on dry conditions. The race is basically a charity that donates money for musical instruments in a school in Argentina. The race is well supported with excellent aid stations. It's a very good race if you are trying to prepare for Keys 100 or the Lake 2 Ocean race in May and June respectively, as temperatures are usually hot for this race. The single track trail meanders through wonderful everglades area and is home to many wild animals including snake and alligator. All year round there is recreational hunting and fishing. There is a youth camp but you'll have to have children to overnight. Otherwise, camping is permitted in many locations as well. If you love trail races and don't mind getting dirty this is a great one.

We also had a great time with the folks at the Christmas Eve party. The spaces are well lit, pull through and level. I asked her if I could authorize it over the phone she said no. I asked her if I could authorize it over email, she told me no. It was planned that I would come in later at the end of the week after my trip was over to come and sign the paperwork. Then she informed my boyfriend that he did not get approved to live there. So I called and I wanted my electric deposit back and to make sure I was not going to get charged for the upcoming month (since we never technically moved in, we were just paying rent to save our spot) and to get my $50 for my background check back because she told me they could not run it without my signature. She then informed me that she already ran my background check. I said that's really weird and shady because you told me you couldn't do it without my signature. And she was just standing on that she is not giving back my money because they already ran it. I don't even care about getting the money back at the principal is you told me that you could not run my background check and then you hung up the phone and proceeded to do it anyways. That is so unprofessional and the way the property manager handled it (I know if I say her name it's easier for her to take this review down but it starts with a K) I said, proceeded to ask the corporate number and she flat out told me no. Refused to give me a corporate number and then she gave me an email that is her work email. I think it's really shady that you're gonna act that way and then refuse to let anybody report it. I was about to stay at this campground for the next 1 to 5 years. And honestly, this must be a blessing in disguise that I don't need to be near that woman because even when I stayed her the previous year, she had a nasty attitude. I just hope this review helps other people protect themselves in the future because this company will dance along the line of doing illegal things behind your back. I had no problem if they had run the background check, the principal of this is that you told me you could not, hung up the phone, and then we ended it anyway without my knowledge.

There Is a dock where you can look over the water. I believe there is also a hiking trail. Here you may see some wildlife such as the agressive racoon, the timid squirrel, noisy armadillo, lots of birds chirping away, if you're lucky you might get to see a venomous snake however you're most likely to see black racers and corn snakes. Now you might think the agressive racoon is cute and cuddly animal but don't you dare try to pet him cuddle him or feed him. As a matter of fact the raccoons will show up your campsite during daylight hours but don't be fooled, this is a reconnaissance mission. Once everyone goes to bed, they come back. They revisit the sites that had the best goodies. They will open your coolers and go through your trash.

This is a free primitive campground (no hookups) managed by the South Florida Water Management District. While free, it does require a Special Use Application and License (which is also free). The Special Use License secures 1 of the 14 licenses available per day, and also gives you access to the gate code for entry; the camp host did check that we had one. The campground is far from traffic noise, and each site is large and picturesque. The family campground is for tent and pop-up camping only. No trailers, camper vans, truck campers, or RVs are permitted for camping. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed per campsite. While we have a Class B RV, we followed the rules and set up our tent for overnight camping. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring. The Family Campground has clean composting toilets. A full-service bath house with hot showers and flushing toilets are available for use in the Equestrian Campground. The DuPuis Management area offers camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, bicycling, geocaching, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and hunting during specific seasons. We had only one issue -- and that was that our GPS took us to the wrong, locked entry gate but we figured it out.
