Save yourself! As…read moremuch as it pains me to say this, James is more of a huckster than a healer. It's humiliating to admit that I was taken in by his ploys and seemingly caring demeanor. I met James (I cannot bring myself to call him "Dr.") at the PSU Farmer's Market, where he was giving free diagnoses. He told me that I had heart disease that he could cure. Of course, I was alarmed and motivated to schedule an appointment. At our first meeting, he greeted me by the wrong name; dismissed my more immediate health concerns (a shoulder injury) and focused instead on those he diagnosed (heart and endocrine system), saying, "We have bigger fish to fry"; and left four needles in my back, which I discovered when I got home. I should have never returned, but I did, because he seemed so sincere and convinced of his own special gifts and training as a healer. On that second visit, James still ignored my references to a painful shoulder, confused my health conditions with that of another patient (i.e., he started discussing with me a health issue I didn't have and he hadn't diagnosed), and never followed up with "homework" he had assigned me of doing a self-assessment of my health concerns. However, he did quiz me on my commitment to my health, which I now take as a tactic to get prospective clients to commit to his program. On the third and final visit, James presented me with two options for treatment, a $5,000 plan and a $10,000 plan. Now, why would a legitimate practitioner have two different plans for treatment? Would one heal me only part way? We're not talking cars here (although his brother sells them, so maybe he got some sales tips there). Finally, before I committed to his treatment (which, by the way, you cannot do on a pay-per-visit basis), I researched reviews, which, as you can see from others on this site as well as on Facebook (Luna Acupuncture in Honolulu, where he also works), are fraudulent. Most of the reviews are not associated with real people (check out the thumbnail photos and clustered posting dates). Those on FB that were real were either by his brother or sister-in-law. The only actual person who was a nonrelative posted a negative review. This guy is more huckster than healer. Go your separate ways before he separates you from your hard-earned cash.

BEWARE! The owner and main therapist "James" is VERY unprofessional. We ran into "James"…read moreadvertising his services at a local trade show event. He took my information and and we scheduled an appointment to go over some symptoms. I cannot attest to his acupuncture wellness therapy skills as I had to cancel the appointment at the last minute due to a conflicting work meeting that could not be changed. This "professional" proceeded to insult me and harass me by sending inappropriate text messages. He then charged me $165 for breaking an appointment that was not met!! Without warning me or getting my authorization. I warn anyone looking for a reputable therapist to stay clear of this company and look elsewhere. This is NOT a professional and reputable business and leans more closely to a scam than a wellness therapeutic facility. STAY CLEAR!

Hallelujah! A naturopath on the North Coast who is kind, knowledgeable, accessible, prepared for…read morethe appointment (i.e., read my records before I arrived) and with zero attitude. The office is warm, quiet, and welcoming, and Dr. Du Moulin made it easy to talk about my health history, asked good questions, took a lot of notes, and showed a lot of empathy which meant a lot. And of course going to a ND means you aren't rushed out the door in 10 minutes after sitting in a waiting room for a half hour past your appointment time like at many MD's - we had a full hour and she was super comprehensive and explained things well. Also kudos to Erin (support staff) who was very nice, super responsive, organized, and was able to get me in on a Saturday before the holidays kicked off. Highly recommend looking beyond Astoria and Seaside and coming to Manzanita to see Dr Du Moulin!!

Without delving into details, my injuries have resulted in skeletal, muscular, and nerve damage that's pretty much left me struggling with mobility issues and chronic pain. I've gone the full gambit of care, including multiple surgeries, various physical therapy modalities, chiropractic, acupuncture, acupressure, massage therapy, and just about any modality that could give me some relief. The only thing I've found to help reduce and/or manage the pain when experiencing flare ups is massage therapy by a qualified and experienced therapist, which, in my experience, are few and far between. Prior to retiring to the Long Beach Peninsula in 2020, I began my search for a qualified therapist and, after trying a few here locally with disappointing results, a friend referred me to Diane Duprez, a long-time established massage provider here on the Peninsula. I'm very grateful for that referral. Diane's been able to give me relief, albeit temporary, since I started going to her over a year ago. I've found Diane to be a highly qualified, knowledgeable, and experienced therapist well versed in human anatomy and various massage techniques. Furthermore, I've found her to be very professional both in her practice, techniques and treatment, but also in her communications, timeliness, and punctuality, unlike the other practitioners I'd seen on the Peninsula. As such, I highly recommend Diane Duprez to those needing a professional massage for relief of pain, stress, and anxieties, or just to relax and feel better.
