Top notch Hilton property. This hotel is very beautifully maintained both inside and out. We had a…read morecorner room which had a view - view was nothing great to see but made the room very bright. The bed was very comfortable and we weren't rolling into the center. Sheets fit and didn't come off during the night. After 10 days of traveling this was fabulous! A/C regulator actually worked and didn't sound like a jet was landing in the room. Walk in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash containers on the wall. No little half empty bottles to deal with.... Yeah! Highly recommend this property!

Here's the thing…read more I was on the verge of giving this five stars like so many others. I was here for a week, and for the vast majority of that week, was pleasantly surprised with the experience. But then, the last day happened. And that one interaction cost them three stars. I know what you're thinking - that's harsh. Trust me: you never get a second chance to make a first impression. First for context, I got the King Suite. The King Suite is basically a penthouse 1-bedroom. Top floor, I was right off the elevator. It's swank, it's visually appealing, and it's also very expensive. But I was willing to pay the money for a comfortable experience during a very difficult move. Here's where Hilton Garden Inn got it wrong - and if any of them read this, these are EASY things to fix. 1. they charge for breakfast. $20. I find this a joke. It's not that I can't afford it (the King Suite is very expensive, remember?), it's the principle. They should include breakfast at NO charge for the suites. 2. They got rid of the guest binder. You know, that binder that tells you about the locations and sights to see that used to be in every room? Not here. There's a small binder, but a waste of time. Also, the menu for the restaurant forces you to scan a barcode (that's another star off, by the way). 3. There's no work desk in the King Suite, which I find to be a joke given the cheaper rooms have it. There's plenty of wasted space where a desk could have easily been placed. 4. But the biggest issue: on the last day, it started to rain a bit, so I got my jacket out of the car, then went to get breakfast. "Natalya" essentially treated me like a criminal when I asked for a to-go tray (I find it to be inefficient and wasteful to do actual dishes for a quick breakfast). Constantly questioning about where I'm wanting to take the food (to my room MF'er!), nagging me when I went to get some salt/pepper from the table, didn't give me a carry tray, etc. Absolute worst experience, and the above could have been forgiven had this incident not happened. So, in summary: The hotel itself is nice. The basic hotel staff is nice. But you might get profiled and treated like a criminal - and I can't say for sure whether your skin tone has anything to do with it. All I can say is, for the thousands of dollars I spent at this hotel, I REFUSE to be treated that way.

We pretty much dropped our stuff off took kids to the pool. Then went our for dinner/shopping. It wasn't until we were back in room, kids were showering that I noticed the body mirror was filthy with handprints, some smudges on the desk, and old food (corn) noticed on the bathroom floor behind the door. It hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. When talking to the front desk we inquired about credit or other room. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us to another room that was properly prepared. Front desk/staff have been great! Very kind.

There are a handful of and nice restaurants, taverns, coffee shops, unique stores. Personally recommended: Nitty Gritty Restaurant, Beans & Cream Coffee Shop. JJ Sewing Shop. JJ Stitches Quilt Shop. Security cameras around the inside/outside of the property. Breakfast had a dedicated person assigned to oversee things (***BRAVO***), not just the cook who is asigned 2 jobs (oversight, and food prep)! The housekeeping staff in the hallways were friendly. There was a reasonable level of cleanliness throughout the building. Building itself was well maintained, minus one point (see NEAS). The beds are very comfortable. OKAYS: Front staff were professional, efficient, and business-like in transactions but could have been more friendly and welcoming at check-in. Room was comfortable and reasonably clean (room edges could use some attention). We were greeted most of the time as we came and went past the front desk during our stay. A second TV in the breakfast room would make viewing easier from some locations (First-World issues!). A Kwik Trip is located just a couple of (walkable) blocks away. NEAS: The pool felt like a "fishbowl," with anyone accessing the lobby able to see in. No elevator. The breakfast room was clean but lackluster and overly utilitarian in appearance and feel. The middle of the hallway in front of Rm 221 is giving way; not visible, but you can feel it. The toilet/Tub/Shower room is small. Doorswing would hit one at the knees if sitting on the commode; and only clears the tub edge by a foot or so. The air system filters were dirty. VERY NEA: The hotel has chosen to include a Room Safe Fee. IMHO, this is a "junk fee" being used by locations as a free revenue stream that allows them to advertise and artificially appear cheaper per night than competing locations. The corporate level explanation is that "half of our guests like it / half do not." From personal experience, I have seen this ONLY in a couple of 5-star locations. I mostly see it in 2 and 2.5-star locations. Like others doing this, this fee is NOT reflected in online advertisement pricing; you only find out about it at check-in and can only get it removed by specifically asking for it to be removed by visiting the front desk upon check-out.

They were very accommodating when I asked for a room close to the elevator due to my mom's mobility issues. The room overall was pretty nice. There are a couple issues. Number one I feel like it's pretty standard to have a microwave in a hotel room these days. I've stayed in rooms that cost less that have them. So that was issue number one. Number two I feel like no matter if it's a handicapped room or not, which ours was not, there should be some kind of Aid or bar or something to get up off the toilet. Which there was not. There's plenty of room for it as you'll see in my pictures. I also think it's kind of cheap not to do a complimentary breakfast , when you're charging over $100 a night for a room . Also especially when you have a Starbucks in the lobby , we kind of know you can afford to offer breakfast. I'm just being honest. My main issue, involves something to do with Sanitation. Which is why they are only getting three stars. I mentioned the fact that there are not microwaves in the room. I will give them credit they do have a good amount of options in their little market downstairs. They offer several options to microwave in their communal microwave. But herein lies the problem. There is nothing to microwave those items on. There are no plates, napkins or paper towels to place your items on. So you are placing every item directly on the plate of the microwave. That's a safety issue. I was not okay with that. As far as the room itself, it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. There's a nice size closet. The TV was nice and I did like that they have the option for most streaming services. But I just cannot get past that sanitation issue. It's a great place to stay and pretty affordable, but just keep in mind what I said.

We are a Marriott family and choose Marriott over any other brand if given the choice…read more We stayed at this Fairfield over Thanksgiving and it was a totally "meh" experience. What we noticed what was what was missing -- the warm, welcoming service that Marriott is known for. My husband is a gold member and it's standard for the clerk to acknowledge that and offer something - a bottled water, an upgrade - something. There was no acknowledgement at all. We stayed 4 nights - 1 with a certificate and 3 with cash. One stay, two forms of payment. This was not a problem for knowing that we needed the same room all 4 nights but it threw them into a tizzy when it came to housekeeping. When we checked in Wednesday, we were told housekeeping was every other day, so Friday. When we returned late Friday our room was still untouched. The front desk was surprised we thought we should have received housekeeping services and offered us new towels and toilet paper (whew, because we had run out after 3 days!) but said that our original check-in day didn't start the housekeeping cycle but the start of the "2nd reservation" did. (Cool, but with that logic, then the end of the "1st reservation" should have triggered housekeeping before the next one started because otherwise, eww, who wants to start a reservation with an uncleaned room!!??) We stayed out of our room all Saturday morning and returned close to 1:00 pm to find...drumroll please...the room wasn't cleaned!!! Eventually, with much internal discussion on whether or not our room should be cleaned, they did clean it. But here's the thing. Any one employee could have changed the situation. There's a myriad of ways they could have done this, but instead, we kinda felt like our staying here (at a hotel) over a holiday was an inconvenience. It's for all those underwhelming customer service reasons that I can't give this location more than 3 stars. It's a great location, but you have other options you might want to consider.

The room was spacious, almost like having a small living area of its own, and the hot tub was a nice way to relax after a busy day. Coffee at breakfast was decent, too. Unfortunately, we struggled to get comfortable overall. The room had a funky smell, and the bedding felt very worn with thin sheets, flat pillows, and a bed that left both of us with sore necks and backs (and we're only in our mid-30s). The room was also too bright at night, with light coming in from outside and no way to fully block it out. Breakfast options weren't great. It was disappointing that we couldn't log into Netflix or any streaming apps on the TV during our evenings. Cell service (AT&T) was poor, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable, so watching anything beyond local channels or getting work done wasn't really possible. Overall, it was decent for a quick stay, but for the price, we didn't feel it offered good value and probably wouldn't return.
