We went here today and to say the least you can see why the likes of subway come in to small towns ...they offer a consistent product, good service and value for money. Today at waterside it was busy, but there seemed to be a number of staff just hanging around in the back area. The one lady who was running the counter was less than impressed when we asked if we could order sandwiches....how dare we! Then moaned and groaned there's no rolls....funny cos there seemed to be a lot of roll type looking items on the racks. The focaccia my partner ordered came out of a freezer which was chock a block of random items. The same woman serving says to us that there will be a wait for the sandwhiches which we say is find we're happy to wait.....again not impressed ! So the sandwhich maker makes our roll and foccacia. Omits my partners olives from the order despite them being listed as an ingredient on the salami foccacia. My schnitzel roll was ok, let's not write home about it!
Pretty poor hygiene in this store with lots of stuff stacked up at the sinks and no one cleaning up. Who knows what the fat guys job was he just seemed to stand there. Everyone was wearing gloves despite their jobs which is always a worry....how long have they had those gloves on for and there were open tubs on the counters in the kitchen that appeared to just sit there in the heat,.
$20 bucks worth of food and drink, we could have gone else where and will next time. Lesson Learnt! If you want good food maybe try the other bakery at th other end of town ! read more
