(never will buy through LL again) Steve worked with us and tried to help us in our claim we filed against LL.. It was a perfect install, the material was bad. I appreciate Steve going above and beyond.

I was skeptical as they are the only contractors Lumber Liquidators refers to but I can understand why they maintain that referral relationship: SW Contractors are top notch. Our job was an involved one as we were ripping out tile and carpet throughout our downstairs and putting down hardwood in the kitchen, living, two closets, hallway, bathroom and entryway. Steve came to the house and was able to give a detailed (and pretty competitive) quote right then and there. We had some tight scheduling issues as I wanted the rest of the family out of the house for the install. Laura, the business/office manager, worked with me to get our project scheduled on exactly the days I needed. The crew of three arrived and immediately got to work. By mid-morning, they already had ALL the demo done! Jose, William and Eduardo were fast and meticulous - even taking extra (unexpected) steps to minimize the mess (which, if you've ever removed tile, you know there is a LOT of mess!) They hauled away all of their waste when they were done, too and even kept their work area neat between project days- something I didn't expect but really appreciated. I LOVE my new floor. We went with the taller baseboards as Steve recommended and the finished product is gorgeous, contemporary and SO clean! Laura was even helpful in getting some questions answered for me after the install was finished and emphasized that they would be more than happy to come take a look at anything should I have any concerns.

We were very clear that the carpet was being installed on the 2nd floor and the rooms are large, which they knew. The installation crew of 2 people, a man and woman, arrived as scheduled (8am) and began removing the carpet. The shock came when I saw that the man was putting the old carpet/padding through the window and onto the roof. After there where 4-5 rolls of the old carpet/padding on the roof, he climbed out of the window and threw them to the ground. Frankly, I about had a stroke! Not only was that extremely dangerous but was not good for my 2 year old roof. Then they tried to move the new carpet out of the truck but it was too heavy for the 2 of them to move, so my husband and I helped them get it out. They cut the carpet for the largest room (20x17) rolled it up and the man carried it up the flight of stairs to the room and dropped it. It hit the floor so hard that it knocked a picture off the wall downstairs and shook the entire house. I ran to be sure no one was hurt but he didn't look at all concerned, but he didn't carry additional pieces upstairs until additional help arrived at about 1pm. They continued putting old carpet/padding on the roof and then throwing them off. They worked quickly laying the carpet and putting things back. They clearly were not coming back on Friday morning to finish putting things back or clean up the debris in our yard. Perhaps, we made the mistake of moving things into one room to save time. The carpet does look nice but I'm not sure that it will stand the test of time; only time will tell...

It was the best investment we have made, and he is always there when you need him to be. We needed some additional things taken care of from a home inspection report a few years later, and he was able to take care of those. He has also recommended other great contractors to me for things like lawn care. I really appreciate his honesty and business ethics. You can't ask for a better person to do business with.

I would tell Les things that we wanted done and he would say no problem and then he or someone else would do whatever the heck they wanted to, that was not what we wanted. When we would find these, Les would act as if we were in the wrong and wasted his time. Les seems to either not write down what we say or want or just plain forget. My bathroom ceiling shovel have been changed to Sheetrock meant for bathrooms. It was not. And I have had numerous problems with the ceiling in my bathroom and the painters have fixed it approx 3 times and I was told they wouldn't come fix it again.ITS STILL WRONG! And it not my fault!! I'm not the contractor. The tile in the bathroom was placed the wrong way. The floor was placed on the walls of the shower and the wall tiles were placed on the floor. It's little things like this . That turned out to be many that makes it so frustrating. There is a 1 inch gap from the main house to the addition and apparently this quality construction contractor Les Pence thought that was ok and right. I've had to have my carpet fixed numerous times. This just isn't professional. He installed a pocket door in the bathroom that had a lock and it doesnt even maths up with the side of the wall where the lock would actually go. So it useless! After moving in, I noticed that my shower didn't even have silicone or anything to prevent water from going into the cracks and Into the wall. What kind of professional forgets this? Next, I just had my house inspected and I had to pay an electrician to fix the GFI in the bathroom, it was wired wrong!! Next, after the ceiling of the bathroom Kept chipping large chunks of paint, the electrician came and placed a light/ fan combo above the shower to assist with the steam. Thank God I checked behind this lazy person. All he did was hook it up and piped the steam from my shower directly into my attic where it would cause mold/ mildew etc!! I called him out on this and he seemed upset that I found this and then had to go get a DRYER HOSE, and hook it up and now it is hung by picture frame wire and at the eve of my house. Not even going outside. Next, I just happen to change my lightbulbs to LED LIGHTS, thank God I did this, every one of the ones they installed were so hot they had turned black and were warped! Such a fire hazard. Not even done, so the professionals installed my custom made large tub, this thing is huge. Wanna guess where they placed the drain that had to be turned and closed before filling the tub? Yep. On the far side. I have to climb into the tub, not lean over just to close the drain. This should have been common sense. Things that should have been done right the first time , I had to find and ask several times for them to be fixed Update: Les Pence immediately received this review and made every necessarily means to fix and remedy the issues. Thank you. This review went from 1 star to 3 thank you
