I recently went in this store (early Aug 2020) and, out of at least 8 employees present, not a single one wore a mask. As the coronavirus rages through our community, this business is failing to take a simple precaution for their customers. Not only is this an affront to those who work in the medical field, but it shows the people operating this business do not care about being decent community members or corporate citizens. Shame on them. In addition, for the size of their showroom, the selection is lackluster compared to other flooring stores in the area. I found this to be true for both carpets and wood-type floorings. What I was told did not exist, did in fact exist elsewhere. This was the first store I tried, and looking here was a waste of time. read more

David & Maria When we decided to remove carpet from our hallway and stairs our first stop was Greer Flooring. When we started working with Jacob we knew we didn't need to go any other place. Jacob was so patient with us he was able to match our other hardwood floors perfectly and installation went great. He told us what the wait time would be for installation and he was right on the date. We found the showroom to be very clean nicely arranged between carpet, tile, hardwoods etc etc and Jacob was very knowledgeable on every item. Our next project will be to remove all carpet from the bedrooms and again put down hardwood and we will definitely be going back to Greer Flooring. I am struggling to find anything positive to say about Greer Flooring. For full disclosure, we are in the middle of a legal dispute. I wish we could upload photo's because a picture is worth 1000 words. We bought our White Oak hardwoods from Greer, emphasizing we wanted quality, scratch resistance, were willing to pay, etc and it was out intention to have a high-grade white oak in our new home.. They installed #2 White Oak that has so many, many problems. We are surprised Greer would even sell a product of such poor quality. We have over 40 boards that are of such poor quality you can get splinters when walking in your stocking or barefeet. We have orange, pumpkin orange, streaks where the floor finishers tried to fix some of the damage. We expected some knots and worm holes but the only way to describe our damaged floor boards are chewed up on the edges. The real sin here is that 2 1/2 bundles of extra flooring were put in the dumpster, the installers had the option to look and use good boards, but didn't take the time. Our sales man, Jason Johnson, was arrogant and sarcastic to deal with, our total bill was $22,000 and for that alone, he should have treated us reasonably and with respect. When we raised concerns, his response was "that is what you ordered", when we asked to see copies of what we ordered, he said it came from our builder, who also has no record of us ordering this extremely low grade wood. One amazing thing, although Jason Johnson kept repeating that the deplorable condition of our floor was normal, he never came to the house to see the floor nor any other direct employee of Greer flooring. But, they were very quick to tell us the floor was fine. The team that sanded and finished the floor was fantastic, also shared our concerns with the quality of the wood and suggested changing out the dozens of bad boards, sanding the floor back to bare wood and refinishing - We asked for itemized bills by area, i.e. wood floors, 1 for the bath, 1 for the linoleum, multiple times so we could pay in full for finished work and were met with hostility. we did not want to pay for a bad install until complete and Greer has not put a Mechanics Lein on our home. Be very, very, careful when dealing with these people. To make matters worse, they tiled our master bath - well, 1/2 tiled and put in a heated floor. The floor doesn't heat in front of the shower and where the tub will be, we have high tiles, and the grout is poorly done, we have a recessed soap/shampoo area and there is 1/2 inch or more of grout built up in the corners where it should have been cleaned out. They want full payment for tiling the front and around a soak tub that isn't even installed - thus, can't be tiled. We have had additional flooring and tile experts to the house who also acknowledge the work is shoddy. It is our full intention to pay, in full, with a smile on our face for good quality work and product and as soon as Greer provides this we will gladly write them a check. read more

Three years ago, Greer Flooring installed prefinished Hickory hardwoods in our home throughout the entire main floor (except bathrooms.) It was a disaster. We were told that the wood needed to be in the house for 7-10 to acclimate, but when their contractor came on day 3 to install and I questioned him about it, he dismissed me. Due to his poor installation, within six months the floors were cupping and buckling. The wood actually began splintering, and our son ended up with a large splinter in his foot. Greer Flooring dismissed our concerns, stating that it must be the "humidity" in our house that caused it. They set up a device to measure the humidity--but never reported their findings to us. When we pressed them that they needed to fix the floors--since the wood was splintering, they said that they would come sand and refinish the floor, but we would be responsible for moving all of the furniture out of the house (at our expense.) Their website clearly states a satisfaction guarantee with installation, which they did not honor. We contacted an attorney (which is really not what we wanted to do, but the wood and installation was approximately $15,000). We had an independent expert assess the floors, and he agreed that Greer Flooring did not install the floors properly--they didn't allow the wood to acclimate properly, nor did they leave enough space along the perimeter for the wood to expand with time, which resulted in the cupping and buckling. Only after our attorney sent a letter did Greer Flooring agree to incur the expense to have movers handle the furniture and to come and fix the floors. We are now in week two of living in the basement with our kids and dogs--and obviously, no kitchen access. The floor was supposed to be finished last week, with the furniture moved in on Monday. The floors are horrendous. The sanding is uneven. There are holes in the wood. There are swirl marks in the floor from lack of using a fine grade sand paper. The wood wasn't sealed well, so we asked them to apply more coats of finish. Yesterday, they applied two coats of finish--OVER dirt on the floor and brush bristles, hair, etc. There are also several areas where the finish "puddled" and they didn't spread it out. They just let it dry. Oh, I forgot to mention: on day one of the refinishing, the contractor said he needed to plug into our dryer outlet. No big deal, I showed him where it was and went back to work (I work at home.) My husband came home to check on things, and saw that they had wires--not a plug--connected straight into the outlet! And--the extension cord had frayed wires sticking out all over--total, crazy fire hazard. Obviously, we told them to get a new cord with plug before they could continue. I'm sure OSHA would have had a thing to say about it. So now, after our walk-through this afternoon with Greer Flooring, they really don't see any problems with what we pointed out to them. They seems to think their job is done. We're now awaiting a call from the owner. Good grief. I can't believe that not only are the NOT fixing they problem, they've actually made the floor look worse. Don't people have any pride in quality work? Whew. Sorry to vent, but this has been a terrible experience, and I hope no one else has to go through it. read more

We couldn't be happier! From beginning to end the process was seamless. After doing a great deal of research I decided on the wood flooring I wanted installed in our new home. The problem was no one carried it. Tim Reynolds, from Greer flooring in Greer, SC, contacted the company and arranged the sale. The house is an old house and the floors were not even (I mean anywhere) . Tim sent 2 experienced installers to re-level the floor so that it would remain within the strict tolerances required for the warranty. Jason and Cesar worked for a week re-leveling and laying flooring. They were polite and punctual, arriving everyday to put in a full day (if not more) of work. The floor was installed with the precision that only skilled craftsman can give. Everything lines up throughout the house. I would highly recommend Greer Flooring. read more

Whole experience was bad. Told them exact products we wanted, when went to store to look tried to pawn off something comparable. Had to insist on first choice. Had carpet, LVT, and wood stairs installed. Had to have carpet guy come back to fix 3 doorways. Should of had LVT guys come back to regrout baths but decided I could handle that. Also ended up with a whole extra box of tile plus some extras from open box, would not take back whole box. Stair guy came out to measure, but measured stairs going to upper level (which we were trying to match), but did not measure stairs to basement (the project) and when he came out the treads were wrong. I guess my biggest is issue is this was going on at the very end of the remodel, after the hall floor was in, walls painted, etc. Thank goodness I put some moving blankets down in hallway during demo as he just threw old parts on hall floor. Also the walls got damaged in process, so sheet rock guy and painter had to come back. Poor scheduling. Finally, the LVT product used was Armstrong who was advertising a rebate on certain products. I never could get an answer if the two tiles I bought were on rebate. read more
