I called jones Saturday and told them my mom needs a 55/5 UF capacitor and I asked if he had one in stock it turned out he did have the exact capacitor we needed on his truck and came by within the hour to install it. They charged a very reasonable $65 service call fee and no extra for a weekend appointment. Now my mom's air conditioner is working again. It's tough these days find someone who does what they say and keep their word, I always appreciate it when I find someone who does. Super nice guy and I appreciate you helping my mom out. I will be calling for any future HVAC issues that we may need.

Now, I called perhaps 4 contractors, maybe more. Several came out, but never entered my crawl space, some contractors asked me either what size my home was, or my address. Some of the quotes that came out of those contractors were remarkably expensive. Experts who all claimed they knew, without looking in my crawlspace, without counting the drops, that this would cost 5000, some nearly 6000 on their quotes. Modern Air comes out, and they enter my crawlspace, count the drops, take measurements, even clean out my evap line which has a tendency to clog up over time. They give me a quote, and it's a good deal less. In fact, it was 2,000 cheaper than the most padded invoice I had heard. They came when they said they would, they did the work, and it works great. I call them for service calls from time to time. I highly recommend them. Great work, good family owned business, and guys who did uprightly by me in my estimation. Other contractors looked at our house from the exterior, perhaps our cars; and never looked a skosh underneath our home. Modern Air did. Highly recommended. I am so happy that I read the other reviews and decided to give them a call! The woman on the phone was very pleasant in collecting my information and assured me they could take care of our problem. They were able to schedule a same day appointment and had our air back on that evening! Chris was our service tech and was really friendly and professional. He quickly identified our problem (clogged condensation line) and resolved our issues. He was even able to install a device that will prevent our system from overflowing in the future. The Installers explained everything they were going to do, how long it would take, and what they needed from me (NOTHING). They brought all tools and parts, NO trips into town or the parts supply store was required. They even wore little booties over their foot ware so not to get my floors dirty. The Job took most of a day and they left NO trash, or scraps of metal ducting laying around for me to step on. They knocked each time they had to enter MY home and made sure the doors were shut tight so my dogs wouldn't sneak out. They were very considerate and thoughtful. "SERVICE AFTER INSTALL" Part 3 of 3 On one of the hottest days of the year (90+) the NEW unit would Not produce COLD air. I had people and animals all looking at me saying "Well Do Something", I/m melting here. Yes we were all hot and getting crankier by each passing second and each raising degree. I called the company ("MADISON HVAC") that just recently installed a New system in my home. I just spent $$ on cold air and heat and i'm not getting A/C. They tried to fix the system over the phone but no go so they scheduled a service tech the next opening. The tech arrived and was again friendly and polite. He asked about the issues, and got to work, minutes later he had the system up and running. The part that went out was covered by warranty. They can and will work here anytime. We are very happy with our experience. 6/7/18 7/3/19 - called Madison air this am around 10am to report a leakage coming from the unit. Megan (or maybe it was Mandy) handled the call. Even though they were booked up she called back shortly to say she had a tech coming out to look at it. George showed up and fixed it very quickly. Simply a clogged line. Done and taken care of by 2pm. Again.....very happy with their service.

I will, however, forewarn anyone, they will not refund you the last month of your monthly service fee even if it is just 2 days over and you no longer own the home. My card was charged on the 15th, I officially closed on the sale of my home on the 16th, called to cancel my service on the 17th, and was told by them on the 18th they would NOT be refunding my monthly service charge for that month; the coverage would run through the next month even though I no longer own the home. Adamantly refused is how I would best describe it. They did confirm I would not be charged again after this. Sure, they were very chatty and polite about it, likening the monthly service fee to a month-to-month gym membership, but under no terms would they refund it. I don't own the house anymore. I waited until after the official close to cancel my membership because had something with the furnace or water heater arisen I would have been responsible until the house changed hands, and I wanted to have use of the service I paid for in case I needed it. Thankfully, I did not. This aside they are still a good provider if you need to have your furnace serviced. I did not use them for my water heater replacement because they quoted me several hundred dollars more than what I ultimately paid to get a brand new one installed by another provider. I will certainly keep this in mind the next time I get an offer for any type of monthly membership from these types of services. Updated 07/22/2018 For whatever reason they decided to issue a refund for the service even though I had given up my attempts to request one after I was told on the phone they absolutely would not. So, it was a nice surprise. But I suspect it was only after someone higher up noticed my review and had a change of heart or realized how irrational it was for me to have a service carry over for another month on a home I don't even own. Either way, I'm satisfied. In fairness, I will increase my score with another star.
