The store is also accessed from within the centre. The car parking is not free though unless you park after 4pm on a Thursday. The store itself has a good number of check out desks as well as a customer service desk and kiosk. There is a good range of fruit and vegetables. They make nice bread and cakes instore. Other items for sale include fresh meat and ready meals, plenty of tins, alcohol etc. It is a really good sized supermarket for being in a shopping centre and you should get all your basics at least in here. There is a small range of toys and some children's clothing as well. Along with the nectar card to earn some points on your shopping.

It's usually relatively busy, although the queues move quite quickly as most people seem to be purchasing only a few items rather than trolley's stacked and ready to topple. Needless to say, the large blue exterior, with clear windows offering gazes into the wonders within, intrigued me. As I entered, I was surprised to see the extent of goods available in this shop. It certainly can be considered a miniature department store. Clothes, groceries, clothes, toys, DVDs, car accessories, camping accessories, DIY, stationary..... the list is seemingly endless. I first explored the DVD section and was amazed to see many familiar, popular titles included in a two for a fiver deal. I ended up purchasing two reasonably priced reporters notepads at two for £1.50. The reason I have put this under "reasonably priced" is that the paper quality isn't that fantastic, and I observed that this was probably the case which a lot of the stock available. However, is that not expected from such a discount store? The stock was very well presented and the staff offered a friendly mannerism. Overall, four stars due to the fact that a lot of the products available aren't of great quality which may leave some disappointed.

When my family and I used to take our yearly trip to Blackpool, one of the highlights for my Mum was going to the massive B&M's in Cleavelys to rake through the aisles and aisles of stuff. We would always come away with things like tins of tuna and clothes pegs, or a doll that wets its nappy and a dart board. All the kind of stuff that you never go out to intentionally buy, but end up buying anyway because 'Look! I's only £4.99'. Imagine her excitement when the stores started creeping into towns in Scotland. She was in there with her trolley in a flash. Like mother like daughter, I also enjoy a good rake around in discount stores. B&M's is particularly good for kids toys. You get stuff in here that Argos is selling for £10-£15 dearer, so it's worth your while checking it out before you buy elsewhere. Good for 'stuff'. Go for a browse one afternoon, you never know what you might find!

This Poundland store in Motherwell is no different from the others, the staff are ok but they tend to be hard to find and usually only one or two of the ten tills are open causing large queues, the amount of rubbish greatly outweighs the bargains and the shop takes a bit of getting round as there is no particular arrangement of the goods. Worth a look round but not a great shop by any stretch of the imagination.

You can even buy sandwiches and milk in here now, what next? Rather handily, it has a cash machine which is fab because the ones in the street are always really queued out. It doesn't charge you either, bonus. If you need..well, anything, then Poundland is your place. Hair gel, batteries, dog leads, candles, Cher's autobiography, pens or a poster of David Beckham (un-official, of course) then this is your one stop shop. Great for Xmas, which is where I got all of my wee bits n bobs like ribbons and bags, and fantastic for wee extra bits for pressies. It is also especially good for drinks and sweets, you often get stuff much cheaper here than you would in Asda.

The black and white colour scheme and logo, the bright lights and the clothes all cramped together just don't make me want to browse through here. The whole shop just seems very boring as are most of the items in it, they don't even play any music! But Next must be doing something right as I've witnessed first hand the crazy bargain shoppers queuing outside at six in the morning on sale days to get their hands on some discounted goodies. Next is one of my favourite places to shop for baby clothes for friends and family. Until recently I had no idea how expensive baby clothes could be! Next have a huge range of super cute outfits and they are all quite reasonably priced, I even saw a little shirt and tie for a baby boy last week - very suave.

The ground floor as you enter is home to the woman's clothing section with a variety of casual and work clothes. The prices are varied some to me are a bit expensive for what they are and I think that is why the sale is so popular because the quality is good. There is a children's section to the rear which is well stocked and the clothes are seperated and displayed by age. The upper level of the store accessed by a small lift or stairs stocks mens clothing from shirts to belts to trousers etc. A nice next though to have a look around it is a bright store and the staff are helpful.

You'll always find this place packed with pram pushing, trackie wearing Vicky Pollard lookalikes, all filling their baskets with pound purchases. Poundland is an amazing store, which is always queued right up the length of the store. Sure, it's unashamedly tacky, and some of the items aren't worth the pound you pay for them, however you'll find some decent essentials in here such as toiletries and stationery. I'm amazed that anywhere can afford to sell absolutely everything for a pound, however it's always incredibly busy, so I imgaine it'll be around for a very long time.

The only downside is that the credit crunch is encouraging a lot of people to try this place out, so it can get very busy with the queues.

In the last 12 years the store has been extended 3 times and even more recently has been re-furbished which means that although it's exterior looks like something from the 70's, the interior is modern, fresh and airy, just like every other modern M&S. I might be slightly biased as I worked in the store for 7 years, albeit several years ago, but I reckon the staff in the Hamilton store are among the most helpful and friendly staff employed by M&S and this is reflected in the neat and tidy, well stocked shelves/racks in the store. One of the best additions to the store in the last few years is the coffee shop - it's well worth a visit!

And then like a shimmering white eruption of sophistication at the end of the world trusty M&S looms into view. The branch of Marks and Spencer itself is probably what you would expect in a small town, recently modernised to the new M&S decor and display styles they squeeze quite a lot in, although don't expect the same range as you would find in a city centre or out-of-town style branch. They have smaller ranges of the usual clothing departments, a home accessories section and a cafe. The food-hall is good for this size of store; at the end of the day, post-work, the shelves are generally well stacked as the staff are busy beavering away to replenish the stock. This is the part of the shop that I visit most and do find it to be the busiest, at least in the evening when I think most of the customers are popping-in on their way home.

I have also ordered 2 couches (2 seater & 3 seater) which were meant to arrive already, when they did arrive on the weekend it was just the 2 seater and they have no record of the 3 seater. Now I have to follow up and try find where my couches are.This is unacceptable! All of this was ordered online in your store.

Parking up, it doesn't look that impressive, but when you pass through the doors (of what I assume used to be a gigantic Homebase) you are blown away by the sheer awesome scale of the place. You can literally buy everything here, from greetings cards and stationary, to salted nuts and crisps, white goods and domestic electronics, and a huge selection of pet supplies. Top tip if you are visiting for the first time, either set yourself a budget or come with some specific things you want to purchase otherwise you might find yourself with a trolley, a huge bill and a very random selection of well-priced but potentially non-essential goods!
