You feel like you are really in a giant, well organized wardrobe rather than a shop! Imagine my disappointment then when I had a look at the actual stock itself and was pretty disappointed. I thought I might find something really unusual and quirky. Maybe I'm getting old but I just found a lot of it pretty trashy. There was the odd nice little dress but nothing which said, "BUY ME! BUY ME NOW!" The dresses were exactly the same in style as you could find in any high street chain store, except more expensive. Loads of girls will love Cocoberry and I really can see why. The dresses they sell look like dresses I see girls wearing in clubs and bars on a Saturday night. Unfortunately I am just a 1950s Betty through and through and didn't find anything to suit my personal taste.

It was welcome though, as I didn't really know what I was looking for and was grateful for the help! Showing me round a selection of the gorgeous clothes and shoes they have in stock, one thing became quite apparent. I should have known really, that being in affluent Bothwell, the shop would be way above my budget. I was particularly taken by a pair of lovely suede Armani booties, which were simply stunning! At £75 though, not stunning enough, certainly not for a baby who would be growing out of them in a few weeks! All of the kiddies clothes are designer, which you can tell from the minute you walk in. It is all so lovely, but most definitely for the better off amongst us. As we left, a family came in, the Primary School aged daughter wearing a pair of Chloe wellingtons that I could never afford, and the little boy looking through a rail of jumpers declaring that he would 'love this one mummy' no doubt with a hefty price tag! Lovely if you can afford it, but otherwise, window shopping will have to do!

It's quite a small shop with a counter to the left and behind the counter tubs/jars of lots of different types of old fashioned style sweets. Also on the counter and to the right they have some more 'modern' sweets (if that's even a thing!) and also some American sweets too. I was happy to see they had Halloween themed sweeties in the form of witches fingers & brain gummy sweets, milk chocolate skulls, a BIG chocolate pumpkin (which I really wish I'd bought now!) and some rather cool Stay Puft marshmallow man & Slimer from Ghostbusters lollies! We had to get one. The shop seemed to be ran by a lady and her 2 sons (?) helping her which I thought was very sweet (*groan*) but also I only know too well how horribly tempting it is as a kid to just help yourself to the delicious stock when your parent/s run/own a shop that sells sweeties! My poor Dad must've always wondered why he got through SO much stock...oops! :-) Prices are pretty good ~ you pay per 100g for the loose sweets. They also have a really good selection. I think they sell Slush Puppy style drinks too...I may be wrong as I was in a bit of a sugartastic zone when I was in there. It says on their Facebook page they sell hot drinks too. Also they make up 'Sweetie Sprays' which is a big basket of assorted sweets/chocolate for 'parties' (errr...YOURSELF!) for £14.99. They're open Mon-Sat, 9-5pm. So an hour before the party I was wandering down duke street when I came across 535 Duke Sweet , a traditional sweet shop with a modern twist. They had various hand made gifts available to take there and then. I settled on a sweetie spray that was packed with retro sweets and lots of chocolate.( at £14.99 was a steal). The girl even put a personalised message on the box .( at no extra charge ) The gift went down exceptionally well and was even sat on the dinner table as a centre piece. I am also a massive Nike fan girl. I go to the gym a lot, bordering too much, so I need a fair amount of sports leggings/tops/bras. Basically, paying a little bit more of good quality, works for me as endless washes doesn't wear through the fabric resulting in see-through tights (my BIGGEST pet peeve at the gym) . The Nike shop in Kingsgate, isn't the biggest shop, but don't let that full you. There is a mens section on the left, womens on the right, kids in the middle and the shoe wall at the back. All the sizes available and all the colours are out for display, and at the very back wall, even further reductions. I picked up some Nike Free Runs for 55, which are normally around 100 in store. The staff were really helpful, even with half an hour to close, and suggested I do take the bigger size as your feet sweat. He also said if I wasn't happy with them after wearing indoors only, to come back and they'd trade sizes. I really appreciate honest staff, and saying this persuaded me to make the purchase as I did have the guarantee of being able to return. The clothes stock can be hit and miss, they didn't have the specific leggings I like, but they do get stock in 3 times a week, so its just a luck game! A great little shop, credit to the Nike brand and well worth the drive. Open till 8pm, Mon-Sat. Thanks to the friendly staff :)

All dresses are designed and handmade by Moira herself - and you'll find a huge range of wedding dresses, prom dresses, and other special occasion wear. As well as the large range of on-the-peg dresses that you'll find in their King's Court shop - Moira Withers also does custom dress design and fittings. If you want to get an idea of the kind of designs that you'll find at Glitterati - their website has a great selection of photos. Their Kings Court shop is huge - and I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't run out of dresses to try on! There's plenty of space for browsing, as well as giving the gowns a spin, and you'll find the quality of the service itself very hard to beat. As if all this wasn't good enough - you'll also find a large carpark right opposite the shop, so it couldn't be anymore convinient to get to!

I came across Glitterati in a bridal magazine article about bespoke wedding dresses so I thought I would investigate to see if (a) they could do my wedding dress and (b) how much it would cost. Moira Withers was a delight to work with and she interpreted my ideas perfectly. I was even more pleasantly surprised about its cost as it wasnt as expensive as the bridal shops nor did I have to pay for expensive alterations as the dress was made to fit me perfectly. Moira knows her fabrics and sewing methods so I felt very relaxed that I knew my dress would be perfect, within budget and on time! I loved my dress. Would recommend anyone to visit Glitterati and get a bespoke wedding dress or evening gown - at least there'll be no other like it!
