I chose Heritage Montessori based on rigorous research of DFS infractions, online reviews from…read moreparents, and finally my in person visit and tour of the school. I was pleased to find this school had only 1 very minor infraction that was immediately handled and had numerous great reviews from parents. Furthermore, I felt very welcomed during my two in school tours by myself and then again with my two boys. Ms. Guyatri was especially loving and the teachers had been their for many many years. All of the above reasons are why I chose Heritage Montessori when our nanny gave us a two week notice. However, I feel absolutely compelled to write this review so that ALL parents understand the importance of looking at the provided camera detail of the classrooms. Had I not done this, my oldest son would have continued to be singled out and mistreated by Nimmi Gudavalli, the Elementary class teacher. On our first day, Nimmi was at the front desk and was immediately surprised when we told her that our son was going to be in her class. She was not at all welcoming or friendly. While I understood her surprise having not been told or having not met us since she was on a field trip during my initial visits, this was not a good representation for the school. From then on, I was told very rudely that my son's photo would not be put up like the other students because it was close to the end of the year and there would be a new teacher for the summer, and because she had heard my son wasn't coming back for the fall, among other questionable actions. Two days after my son started in Nimmi's classroom, I was granted access to view his room. And immediately, I was completely horrified by what I watched first hand. Despite their being at least 20 empty desks in the classroom facing inward toward the world map rug, my son was turned around facing a black refrigerator in a corner BY HIMSELF. For circle time, my son tried to join the other kids on the rug and when Nimmi came back into the room she made him leave the circle and sit back in the corner facing the refrigerator. I was livid. I immediately called Ms Guyatri and she also saw the video of my son in the corner by himself while all the other children and Nimmi were having class on the rug. She was stunned and agreed to immediately go to the classroom and get my son out of the corner and have him with the rest of the class. The sad part is that had I not been watching via my phone, I don't know how long Nimmi would have thought it was ok to single a child out, turn their desk around and put them in the corner as if they are being punished. Of course after meeting with Ms Guyatri I switched classrooms. To my surprise, Nimmi had already packed my son's things and put them at the door as if to say Good Riddins! Her excuse was she didn't think he would understand what they were going over during circle time and would be distracted. In other words, there was no good excuse for singling out 1 student and making them feel like they weren't part of the class and putting them in a corner. She had met my child 3 days prior and had assumed he wouldn't understand and felt her actions were appropriate. As a so-called teacher, this was beyond unacceptable and she and Ms Guyatri were told as much among other things as any parent could imagine. Ms Guyatri tried to say Nimmi was stressed, but honestly if stress causes a "teacher" to mistreat a child then they no longer need to be a teacher. No child deserves the treatment my son went through during his first 3 days of school. And women like Nimmi Gudavalli are the reason some kids get off to a bad start not having a loving, nurturing, inclusive environment where they are encouraged and pushed to become their best selves. I really write this long story short to make parents aware of the need to monitor their children, ask questions and always speak up when you see something that is not right. After all, while Heritage is a far cry from what I was paying for a full time nanny for the past 5 years, I'm still spending my money and am entitled to better.

My…read moreBIGGEST CONCERN is that as a mother I don't believe a man changing a 2 year old girl diaper is acceptable especially without communicating with the parents. I have spoken with some parents and have came in conclusion that we were manipulated because initially we were told he was the music teacher and months later he transitioned into changing little girls diapers secretly. This has been a traumatic situation on all aspects. For me personally, I teach my daughter that no man should be down there meanwhile unknowingly a man has been changing her diaper in which her DAD doesn't even do... not to mention...The Director/ staff failed to notify the parents such as myself of these changes and under no circumstances should it be tolerated despite their lack of staff or excuses. Although this school is under investigation, this review is to shed light where there is darkness. Please don't take this review as a angry parent venting but rather take it from a safety perspective. This school gets new staff often but do not teach the staff to verify the parent before handing off children, my husband has had the wrong child brought to his vehicle and have addressed the importance of verifying parents before giving away children. If sanitation is a factor please understand that this school allows kids to share binkys (pacifiers) and bring them home. Although, some parents might be ok with their child sharing them I feel that it should be communicated. The lesson I learned from this was - Just because you are paying more doesn't mean you are getting the best. *Good luck .. please keep searching *

Also, not to forget the great food they serve. I will recommend it to anyone to everyone! Keep up the good work!

It was a lengthy process in choosing her first school and we are very pleased to have chosen Primrose. The school and the staff have been playing a significant role in the development and growth of our daughter. Over time since she joined, Isha loved going to school. Apart from the outstanding curriculum, numerous other activities like Christmas celebrations, Easter Egg Hunt, the annual graduation ceremony, etc., have piqued Isha's interest and made her appreciate the time she is spending in school. It is to be noted that the staff put in a lot of time, effort and energy into the execution of the aforementioned events that they end up being really grand, rich and thoroughly memorable experiences for students and parents alike. The school has also ensured that they strictly meet the dietary requirements of each child. The staff also do a commendable job in communicating with us about the child's daily activities, upcoming events, payment reminders and accommodating many other requests we've made. It has been a breeze communicating with Ms. Corrine, especially, and she has always been prompt, quick and always helpful in her response. Our special mention goes to Ms. Alissa. Ever since Ms. Alissa became the class teacher for Pre-K-2, Isha wasn't just happy but was excited to go to school. We, as parents, could clearly see that Ms. Alissa genuinely cared about the kids in the class, made them all feel inclusive, provided individual care to each one of them and actually wanted them to be happy & comfortable. The very manner she greets the kids in the morning not only brightens their days but ours as well. As we drop off our daughter and drive away in the morning, we feel relieved and at peace knowing that Ms. Alissa is there to take care of our daughter. We also want to thank Ms. Margie (who in Isha's words is a very sweet teacher), Ms. Shilpi, Mr. Alan (whose high-fives instantly cheer up Isha in the morning), Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Heather.

The staff are not only professional and highly trained in the Montessori method, but also genuinely kind and attentive to each child's individual needs. Our children have absolutely thrived here by gaining confidence, independence, and a love for learning that we didn't expect to see at such a young age. The Montessori philosophy of hands-on, child-led learning is beautifully implemented. It's amazing to watch how naturally the children develop practical life skills, language, and early math concepts through exploration and play.

What stands out the most is how the teachers and staff genuinely care for the kids like their own. It's a warm, safe, and loving environment where children feel secure and happy especially important for first-time schoolers. They follow the Montessori method, but the focus is really on each child's well-being, building confidence, and social skills rather than pushing academics too early. Another big plus: it's very affordable compared to other schools in Allen offering similar programs. You get quality childcare, peace of mind, and values-driven education without the high cost. If you're a parent who values a strong, caring foundation for your little one, I highly recommend Morningstar Montessori.
