This is one of those parks that brings back an awful lot of memories from my childhood, namely…read morebecause whenever we went down to Brighton on of the Adelaide's many nice summer days, we would end up setting up camp here, namely because there was plenty of facilities for a large group of people. It is pretty convenient in that it is just across the road from the beach, and there are facilities here that one can use to change, or wash down. Yeah, it's a pretty nice, and quite handly, place to spend some time.

It was good though, just not what I thought it would be. It is however an Access For All playground so there's a ramp for those children in wheel chairs. This is a park designed for toddlers. And don't worry parents, the entire play area is rubber flooring so if they fall, they bounce lol. I really liked that the toilets are close by but wish there was more (or anything!) in the way of shade. There's a BBQ and a sheltered table/chair area just in front of the toilets. There's also plenty of room for running around on some pretty lush grass. I apologise for there being only one photo. The playground was too busy and I didn't want to intrude. *Dogs allowed, but leashed* *Drinking fountain* *BBQ* *Sheltered table/chair area* *Electronic toilets*

There's even a circuit of gym equipment for adults just outside of the fenced playground. I would LOVE to come back here and explore further with my daughter. It looks like a lot of fun. There are also toilets, a BBQ and table/chair area in relatively close proximity to the playground. Don't forget to bring a basketball, there's a hoop too! There's plenty of room if you'd prefer to spread out a blanket and picnic away your time here. The whole playground area is rubber floored and you all know how much I love that! The only thing I'm unsure of is if there is a drinking fountain, but I'm sure this palyground won't let me down. Ahhhhh! I can't wait to go there again with my daughter. At least the I have an excuse to try the equipment! lol *Dogs allowed (not in fenced playground)* *Drinking fountain (probably)* *Sheltered table/chair area* *BBQ* *Electronic toilets*

After a swim we can use the barbeque to cook lunch/dinner. Public toilets are very welcome too. Thank you City of Holdfast Bay.

I'm going to have to say that this is probably one of my favourite beaches in Adelaide, namely…read morebecause the water is pretty deep which means that you can actually go for a decent swim. I remember coming down here when I was much younger and jumping off the jetty, namely because it was really deep and you could do it without causing yourself significant injuries - until I got to a point where I started questioning what I actually achieved by jumping off the prefectly good jetty (as well as developing a concern about all of the fishing lines that happen to dangle of the jetty on most weekends). Okay, Brighton may not have the facilities of some of the other beaches in Adelaide, and if you don't live in the south then it can be a bit of a hike to get there, but I have to admit I've always have a pretty good time when I've landed up here.

Brighton Beach is one of my favourites in metropolitan Adelaide. Not too far from the CBD and…read moresituated along a row of eclectic eateries and shops, the beach is close to the obligatory Fish 'n' Chip stores and a super sweet gelateria. Parking at this beach is a breeze compared to Glenelg and Henley Beach, parks are scattered down Jetty Road with more down the Esplanade either side of the jetty. Parking lasts for three hours on average but parking a wee bit further down saves you from the parking inspector. For those opting for public transport, the Train station is a 10 minute walk away and the bus is of a similar distance. There are public showers and toilets scattered down the beach so that the sand doesn't come home in the car and their is usually enough space on the beach to run a cricket match without angering the odd grumpy old man or accidently hitting a six into the tourists' esky. Speaking of Eskys, the Espy's Bottle-O will sell you ice for $4 a bag if you need to stock up. For those looking for a sunset swim or beach walk, Brighton is a safe beach but I'd personally go for Glenelg or Henley as their are more people present and frequent police patrols.

I am definitely a fan of this playground but something held me back from giving it five stars…read more Perhaps it was the dated equipment, perhaps it was the lack of equipment designed for the much older children, perhaps it's the lack of shade over the playground, or perhaps it was the long distance to the toilets, I'm not sure but let me tell you what's great about this place. This playground is fully fenced and the entire space has a rubber flooring. There is a drinking fountain, tap, table/chair and BBQ all within close proximity to the playground. Unfortunately there isn't any shelter/shade over the table but with the massive gum trees in the park, there is some shade depending on the time you visit. This is a great place to come but for me, it slightly falls short of my 'destination' playground status. Maybe I'm having a bad day lol. There's PLENTY of space to kick a ball or throw a frisbee outside of the fenced playground area. *Dogs allowed* *Drinking fountain and tap* *Table/chair area (not sheltered)* *BBQ* *Toilets (walking distance)*

My kind of park is one that has a great moat of green protecting a toilet right in the middle. Nothing else actually matter. And a drinking fountain too? Benissimo! There's a wide area and plenty of space to play with balls. There's your usual playground. There's a barbecue. And that's about it. But there's nothing more you need. Of course, there could, perhaps, be a little more shade. We're in Australia, after all, not Siberia. But, regardless, this is a nice park. If it's your local park, it's worth being proud of.
