My dad was here for a couple of weeks following foot surgery. This place was exceptional. Don't believe the old reviews. The nurses, PT, OT, CNA's, social workers, front desk, and food were amazing. He would stay there again a heartbeat. Everyone was very caring and friendly. My only complaint is no ice machines for patients. Seriously, this is minor though. Extremely unprofessional place. Do not bring your loved ones here. My grandmother came in at 90 pounds, and lost 5 within the first week there. They never addressed any health issues that we brought up to them. Took her 2 weeks to see an actual nurse instead of a CNA. Although she has been diagnosed with dementia, and cannot care for herself, they sent her home with her abusive boyfriend despite our best efforts for otherwise. She is in her 90's and shouldn't be sent home with an abusive man who won't even take her to the doctor after she's fallen and broken her arm. A nurse was in charge of her placement after discharge, and was extremely unprofessional. Continued to belittle my mother and defend the abusive boyfriend who is only staying with her so he can receive her house when she passes away. My mother ended up speaking with the director and "person above the director" (literally wouldn't even tell my mother her job title) and they were both extremely rude and said that our family keeps putting their staff in the middle... isn't that their JOB?! Told my mother that her and her sister call too much, when all they're doing is making sure she can get the best care possible, because if we just leave it to the staff, my grandmother would starve! Extremely surprised this place is still in business. Our family feels defeated and now there is nothing we can do about her being sent home with a gold-digging abusive man! Such a shame. read more

Nursing staff is caring but short handed. Social work staff is very good. My parents were both residents there. My dad a couple of years and my mom about 6 years. Shortly before the end of my mom's life someone stole her wedding ring and a mother's ring off my mom's hands. 2 staff members witnessed one of the thefts. An administrator gave me their statements but said she didn't want to involve them. I took the statements to the Waunakee Police and they said they would go interview the staff. They did and the staff gave the don't want to get involved answers. I would think after spending over $500,000.00 there that I deserved better than that. Also, the Waunakee Police Dept. makes Mayberry Law Enforcement look good. Totally incompetent! read more
