We hired Wave Hill based on a friends recommendation and glad we did. They spent a day removing Ivy and blackberry around the perimeter of our yard. They didn't just cut it out, they went through with pick-axes digging out the roots. It's been weeks and it is truly gone. I wish I'd hired them sooner! We are very grateful to Steve and his crew for helping us realize our vision for our front and backyard gardens. Steve did a thorough check of our existing irrigation system and made the necessary changes, got everything working right. The second part of the project was putting down compost and a decorative rock mulch. But before we were ready to do that, Steve was extremely helpful while we took months to finish planting and choosing the best size and color rocks to use in each section. Stephen did a great job on two different houses for us. We installed an ET water system at our new house and the contractor who installed it did not know how to program it. In fact, my water usage went up after using a "smart" watering system.I tried tinkering with it a little bit, then tried to contact ET water. I didn't get a satisfactory response. I found Stephen on Yelp and concacted him. He was very responsive. He swung by, gave me an estimate, then returned in a few days and did everything he said he would. I now know how to adjust the system myself, but he showed me how to do it. It is also reassuring to know that I can call him if i have other issues. Separately, I found that the rain sensor at my other house was malfunctioning. I called him and he came by and resolved the issue the very next day. Steve and his crew removed a 15 year old ivy forest, tore out an ancient stepping stone "yard" and sodded a small, amoeba shaped lawn, prepping the spaces around it for planting. Nice ideas but I've seen better execution! Weeds are coming back because the layer of mulch is too thin and there is no protection against them. The plan was that the ceanothus will cover everything and prevent the weeds from growing. Except the Ceanothus will take a while to cover everything (3 years?).
