Met up with some friends for some live music here. The band was awesome. I didn't get anything to drink so can't speak on how that part is. The outdoor area where the music is has plenty of picnic tables but u can also bring your own chair in. I have to admit though, the small town of Waxhaw doesn't seem to have accommodated for their new night life as far as parking goes. Have to get down there extra early to find decent parking if you don't want to walk forever alone in the dark back to your car.

We came here on a Thursday night and were surprised at the number of people here! They do have trivia at 7, so that could be part of it, but honestly, it's just a cool place to hang out and have a drink! They have beer and ciders, plenty of options of each, although the night we were there they were out of many of the seltzers. Staff is friendly, and the place kept clean. There is a small front porch you can sit, plenty of tables inside. There is a nice area outside with fire pits as well. They do not have food, but there is almost always a food truck or plenty of local places to get food to bring over.

Beer Good, Food... eh not so good…read more We visited Olde Mecklenburg Brewery looking forward to great beer and a good meal. The beer definitely lived up to expectations, everything we tried was enjoyable. One small suggestion: the experience would be even better if the beer glasses were chilled or frosted. Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We ordered the BBQ special, which was advertised as in-house smoked brisket. The brisket was incredibly dry... to the point that it tasted like leather. The slices were dried out, tough, and honestly looked like they had been sitting for far too long. It was so bad that both of us sent our meals back. The manager did make things right by removing some of the food items from our bill, and I appreciate that effort. However, it's disappointing that the kitchen, and ultimately management, allowed brisket in that condition to be plated and served in the first place. It was obvious from looking at it that the meat was dried out and should never have left the kitchen. I'd come back for the beer, but after this experience, I don't see myself returning for the food. If I visit again, it'll likely be for drinks only.

And while much of the experience is the same, including the delicious beer and tasty Bavarian pretzels, everything else feels sterile and a bit hollow. The high-ceilinged interior is noisy and crowded, making it hard to carry on a conversation. And the outdoor tables on restaurant's front patio feel worlds away from the action. In South End, the beer garden is one of the best spots in Charlotte to enjoy a brew. The fun, spacious setting is the perfect complement to OMB's authentic German beers, making you feel like you're sitting in Munich's English Gardens during Oktoberfest. But the Ballantyne location lacks any of that character, feeling instead like a typical outdoor space at any brewery in Charlotte. There's still a lot to like about OMB's Ballantyne location -- the service was solid, parking was easy and the beer, as always, was outstanding. And if you're dining at one of the other restaurants in the Bowl, it's great to be able to stop by here after for a Copper or a Captain Jack. But given the choice, I'd go to the OG location every time.

It was Sunday and we went for a late meal at 1pm. Lucky we were to get a table as groups of 5 and 7 people followed us inside. Menu was breakfast and lunch. Bloody Mary specials were on for $6 each. And they were spicy and very good. Wife had a meatball parm hero ($13) which was about six bigger-than-golf-ball sized meatballs on soft hoogie rolls, sauced with marinara. It came with a choice of sides and she opted for a side salad with ranch dressing. She ate it all and I just loved the authentic tasting ranch dressing. I ordered their Italian Omlette ($14) and it was at least a three-egger stuffed with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto and Italian sausage. It was soooo good. Sides were offered and I went with those stupid fried potato cubes, which I did not eat. The owner would avoid having to throw out those oil balls by serving hash browns. Just my opinion. Other sides were available. When we were ready to leave there were, really!, not any employees around. I got up and went to the bar and the bartender ran the credit card and we were off. I cannot imagine why the hostess and all the servers were absent. Queen's South has promise. Good pizzas and other foods that are well done. Please give these guys a visit.

We arrived about 7:30pm on a Friday evening. Parking was easy in a nearby lot and we could hear what sounded like live music as we walked toward the building. Sure enough, lucky for us, a live duo was playing on a small stage in front of the outdoor seating. "Sweet Talkin' Johnny" began singing songs from Tom Petty and we knew we wanted to sit and listen for a while. The interior is decorated with fun pictures throughout, which we loved. The portrait of Kramer from Seinfeld was perfect. My wife also reported the women's room has the famous picture of a naked Burt Reynolds from the Cosmopolitan magazine circa 1972. The men's room has the vintage classic poster of Farrah Fawcett and artwork of a dude on a toilet. We did not ask much about their variety of beers after finding the "Big Ass Umbrella" IPA, but we believe they have 16 taps, which, we think include both a variety of their own beers as well as other hard beverages such as seltzers and ciders. They also have a cooler full of assorted 4/6 packs which can be purchased. Tonight we were fortunate enough they had a food truck/trailer serving Nashville Hot Chicken in addition to the live music. Overall, an awesome experience!
