I recently went for several waxing services as well as a lash lift and tint. This was my first wax ever and I'm 8 months pregnant, so I expected some discomfort. Which there was. Binta was wonderful, but I'm not thrilled with my results from the lift and tint, and after a Brazilian I'm very very red and bumpy 3 days later. Essentially my full leg and underarm wax were flawless. Binta is friendly and kind and very professional. The lift and tint were mediocre at best and even after a return trip for a second free of charge tint (normally like $30), my lashes look unchanged. I told her I wasn't happy and that while there is minimal lift and color, it is not enough of a noticeable difference to be worth the $110 I spent. Bindi is extremely rude and always asking you to tip her extra 25%. She is thinking short term rather than long term about whether you will be a repeat customer. 20% is a standard tip and actually high given that I was not satisfied with the service. This was my first visit to Waxing the City and I loved it! I headed over to cutest little downtown area of Red Bank around 7pm traffic wasn't too bad but I found some difficulty finding a parking spot. TIP! There is a parking lot that offers free parking after 6pm on White St and street parking is free after 6pm. Upon entering the sidewalks are cobble stone and the entrance way is a tall glass door. The interior of the salon is just perfect, an exposed brick wall to your right and bright lighting throughout. I'm a stickler for salon cleanliness and this place passed with flying colors. The salon is actually spotless; exactly the place you want to be getting waxed. I had my eyebrows waxed by the endlessly bubbly Tina who was so easy to connect with right away. She explained what she was doing throughout the process and was so kind.The salon doesn't use the typical wax with a strip to pull the hairs away but this wax was not very painful at all. I think energy speaks volumes when visiting restaurants an salons and I really felt good energy in here. I will be returning. My chair masseuse was super friendly, maybe could have gone a little harder with the pressure but for the limited amount of time she was given, it was great. This was the most amazing wax I have ever seen. I HIGHLY recommend this place for your next wax. a friend of mine told me to try wax in the city. she liked the service and said i'd get 50% off my first visit. so i book a full leg and bikini combo in red bank (since that is the location closest to me) but when i got there they informed me that there was no combo (strange, then how did i book it?) and so they could not give me 50% off that package and would instead apply the discount to the bikini wax. i would have walked out but i was leaving for vacation the next day and needed to be lady-scaped. in addition the person i had do my waxing took forever. just the bikini area alone took her a half hour. my friend visited the manalapan location and said they were great (plus parking is FREE compared to the $1.50 i had to shove in a meter in red bank), AND she paid a little over $50 whereas i paid $95 for the SAME service, so i may try them next - but there is no way i'm going back to this location. read more

Won't go anywhere else for my brows! I get brow wax & tint.. the wax is as comfortable as I've ever gotten, and I never leave with bright red or puffy face. I get the tint (I have veryyyy blonde brows) and she mixes colors together for me so that they look very natural. They are of-course a little dark when leaving, but look perfect the next day and for a few weeks after. She shapes & colors perfectly. Also just very nice and welcoming, lovely people.. and the facility itself is spotless.
