After discovering that Waxon was located in Bloor West via the Yelp APP I've never looked back Love this place--professional, quick and they always make you feel comfortable! Highly recommend the staff here. When you walk in you are greeted, offer you water while you wait and whether you need to use the bathroom before the appointment. When your technician is ready she will come and get you and walk you to your room and provide any guidance or answe any questions to get you sorted for your appointment. The one thing I did wish was some music which I noticed was absence during this appointment--but my technician was amazing so can't complain! Brazilian wax-- so unprofessional and the waxing is terrible. I arrived 9 minutes late (my fault) but then they spent 4-5 minutes trying to figure out if they could still take me. they decided they would. but when I was up on the bed naked and she decided she did not have time and could only do a bikini. Swirling the wax in all directions, sure to give ingrowns, and so slow. They charged me so much for it too. They should never tell a client they can do a service then change minds when she has her pants off. lol, done with this place, do not recommend! read more

The same day of my post, I had Chelsea call me back. While we had a bit of phone tag, I was finally about to get a hold of her. FYI - I called WaxOn back after Chelsea left me a voicemail and the same reception, who told me I didn't have an appointment, said that I actually had an appointment and acted as if she didn't even remember telling me that I didn't have one, basically saying "Oh, I don't know..." This same reception said Chelsea was unavailable but she'd let Chelsea know to call me back, except that she NEVER told Chelsea of my message. So, after a few hours I called back again and finally got a hold of Chelsea. She was pleasant and took the time to listen to what transpired. She offered what I believe was a sincere apology and a reasonable solution for future appointments. I appreciate all her efforts and would consider returning because of her. I would recommend being mindful about calling in and who you speak to. Based on my experience, it seems with the girl in the front - she's got nobody home. read more

Went for a wax and was not pleased with my wax at first as many hairs were left over. The technician let me know my hairs were short and she did her best, although I do understand where she was coming from in my opinion I don't believe she did her best as no tweezers were used and no other processes were used aside from the hard wax. Thankfully Waxon let me come back for a touch up at no cost a week later, Ada (a different technician) did my touch up and she did AN AMAZING JOB my hairs were still short and somehow she managed to get it all completely off. I have seen only three girls and Hanijah is my fave, counting only the five times I have gone. Kacie was sweet yet she would leave to much wax on me and left hairs that should not have been left behind. When she was doing the in bet-weeny part of the Brazilliant she told me to raise my legs but clearly she should have told me to do so higher because she would miss some... I didn't appreciate it! I didn't realize I should have raised them higher because the places I have been waxed at before they have you roll over and get right in there. Also, since I go to another wax bar as I go to Waxon more for easy fast convenience not necessarily that they are the best but its not as busy and its quick to get an appointment on such short notice being flexible. Anyways, I noticed the difference from the other wax bar as the lady told me to lift my legs much higher to get what all should be waxed in between the cheeks, yet Kacie failed to do that. I felt cheated as I assumed she was able to get it all since she never instructed me to do the same but she didn't and didn't care. Therefore, some waxers are not as meticulous and are more about racing you out than providing the service as described. I found it strange it was much faster with her than then the two other girls I experienced after and it explained as to why her waxing jobs are not as good and this is why I will never book with her again. Tried this place in bloor west village for the second time. It will be my last. I never post reviews but the staff here was incompetent, unprofessional and outright rude. I tied to get my nostrils waxed and face threaded and left with one bloody nostril, the other full of hard wax and no threading because the tech was arguing with me - I guess what she learned in beauty school is that you don't need to accommodate your clients and it's better to argue with them, & give them nosebleeds and let them leave with wax in their nose. I've read reviews of formers employees and it's clear staff have low morale due to the toxic environment. Stay away - there are other places in the neighbourhood with more professional staff for same $$$. read more

Haven't been to this place in a year cause the service I got was horrible and the girl who did my eyebrows really had no clue of what she was doing and ended up goning to another place to fix my eyebrows and then a month later i missed and appointment that i had cancelled and got an message saying "just a friendly reminder you missed your appointment and then next time you book there will be an additional $5 charged for missing an appointment" so because i cancelled and no they didn't note this i was being charged ... I went back to give Waxon a second chance, as the manager was kind enough to reach out to me to apologize for the last time. Unfortunately, they did the exact same thing. I booked my appointment online to see a specific waxer, double checking twice while I made the appointment, and once while confirming online (the day before the service) to ensure I was going to see the waxer I requested. All 3 times the website said I would be seeing them. When I show up for my appointment, surprise, surprise, I am told that 'I didn't do it properly', and that 'it's too complicated to explain how to do it', but I could wait for an hour and fifteen minutes to see the waxer I had booked with. No thanks. Do yourself a favour, and go somewhere that cares about their clients requests. read more

Have gone to the Bloor West location on and off for the past few years and every time I go back I regret it. Every so often I get a staff member who knows how to wax properly and then once they leave I'm left trying to find another person who doesn't do a hack job. This latest time the staff member showed up late (I was booked in as the first appt of the day), left stray hairs and was complaining to me that I should book a longer service when she had not even used up the entire time! The staff are usually abrupt and rude and there is also a high turnover. Maybe other locations aren't as poorly managed but I would recommend taking your business elsewhere. I wanted to try a new waxing place and found them on Yelp, I'm glad I did. Firstly, amazing customer service everyone there seems very friendly, inviting and nice. The atmosphere was relaxing neat and enough open space to feel nice and relax. I had Stephanie and she did an amazing job, she took pride in her job, had so much enthusiasm and didn't rush, but took her time. I would say this place is average. They have good customer service, not extraordinary though. This place is easy to find, you won't miss it, you'll see a huge WAXON sign. It's only a few minutes walk from Runnymede station. I do think that it's a LITTLE overpriced compared to other salons. But keep in mind that they do specialize in waxing. I was told that there's coconut oil in their wax so it's moisturizing for your skin. I didn't book an appointment, so they only had time to wax half my legs instead of the full leg. The lady who waxed me (forgot her name) was very nice and kept a conversation. I didn't shave my legs in a month before waxing, so I don't know if the hairs were just too long because a lot of them broke off. So the wax didn't feel as smooth as I thought it would be. My boyfriend decided to get a wax his chest last minute. The lady said she can do it because she had about 10 minutes left until her next appointment. The next day he got pimples all over his chest. I don't know if this was due to the lady rushing in order to be on time for her next appointment or not. read more

I'm giving it 4 stars because of my experience with one waxer not so much the other. Allana is a super cool girl and made me feel as comfortable as possible during my first Brazilian. I always try to book with her but she gets busy pretty quickly. Second time I actually booked with Allana but when I got there they said there was a family emergency with her and she won't be in. Totally understandable I just wish I got a phone call to inform me instead of being surprised when I went there. I decided to just go ahead with Kacie instead, she was super nice but I went home and realize there was so much wax and hairs left over. They both do a good job with very minimal pain and are very friendly, however for the price I believe that there should not have been patches of hair that got missed. I've been here 3 times. The first 2 times I would have given a 5 star rating as I was very happy and pleased. The last time I went to get my upper lip and chin waxed I was not impressed AT ALL. I felt like the girl was rushing. When I got home I noticed a couple patches that had long hairs so she completely missed them...and I think she broke a lot of the hairs because my face didn't feel smooth... Not to mention I've been plucking everyday and all the ingrown hairs I've gotten after that wax--- not impressed. Especially because they are more pricey-- u pay the money u wanna make sure u get ur money's worth-- which I don't believe I received last time. The first 2 time were awesome though the girls took their time and it didn't need any maintaining till I got it waxed 4 weeks later. I rescheduled while I was there last time but I might have to come in sooner as its been 2 weeks and my upper lip is almost grown back completely and my chin is very patchy. --- ugh read more

The space was clean & bright & modern. Jordana was chipper & talkative & even shared a few secrets with me that took away any self consciousness one might feel. They offer great services and the girls are very friendly, but the reason that I rated it so low is because of what I have seen. I came in for a service and the young woman at the front was eating what seemed to be her lunch at the desk and still serving customers, there appeared to be only one girl working reception. Which then accounts for her not receiving a proper rest break for lunch. In my opinion it would appear that the company is not following the rules of the ESA (Employment Standards Act), which makes me wonder if the same thing is happening at the other business locations. read more

This was my first time at WaxOn but not my first brazillian wax. When I first walked in, my friend and I were offered water, which was a nice gesture. Front desk personnel was great. She asked if I needed to use the bathroom before my wax which is great for anyone who is waxing for the first time and feels nervous about freshening up or asking for a bathroom. Bathroom was clean and the whole facility had a modern and freash look. I had Mayela as my waxer. She told me to take off all of my bottoms. It was a nice enough day to wear a maxi dress so I wore that with boxer shorts underneath so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable un dressing or after the wax. I HIGHLY recommend this! I was able to still feel covered while she prepped because my maxi dress covered me until it was time to start. She was friendly during the wax and was fine when I was squeamish, had sweaty palms, etc. She made me feel comfortable and answered my questions about the difference between hard wax and soft wax. At the end she told me that I did great and I felt confident. I also had paper on my back from laying down on the table and she nicely helped me get it off. I went a few days after my period and exfoliated before going which both apparently make a difference in pain. I have done a Brazilian 2x before but because of the amount of time I wait in between, it always seems like it's the first time. This time wasn't as bad as the other 2 but still hurt lol.
