I just spoke with the head Pastor, and my family is "welcomed to use the facilities," but they do not support my civil marriage rights. I wonder how he would explain that to our 10 year old child, and how such a stance would prevent him from accessing health care within our family? How upsetting! I encourage everyone camping there to use your privilege and please consider raising this issue. Very unfortunate!

Narrows to the Rescue!…read more My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in a VRBO on Lake Morrison, and the Pontoon that came with our rental stalled out in the middle of Lake Randall:o! We could not immediately get in touch with the owner of the rental nor his caretaker, but Narrows Pontoon and Cottage rentals not only answered our call, they dispatched Jim and Jack immediately to our rescue! They towed us in to our dock perfectly, and would not take any money for the service, not even a cash tip. They were timely, professional, and saved our Anniversary! We will forever be grateful and will always make sure to send business to the Narrows when we visit the North Chain of Lakes again. Thank you, Jim and Jack!

The reason we chose this campground was because we wanted to try a new river to canoe and kayak. The sites were not clearly marked but are rather large (about the only positive thing about the weekend). We did enjoy the time in the river and the excellent weather. The reasons for the low rating are: the bathhouse was never cleaned during the time we were there; the flies were swarming; and no attempt was made to enforce the quiet hours that were posted on the policies sheet we received upon check in. Not only did campers continue their racous behavior well after after midnight; the camp sponsored karaoke dance on Saturday competed with the music blasting from serval camp sites. We have camped in rustic and modern camp grounds and have rarely been this disappojnted. We will not return, nor will we recommend this place.

Harrison Lake State Park was a great place for our family to get together for a reunion. We had a…read moregreat time visiting every playground at the park (there are 6!). Each had its merits, but the group vote for the favorite was the playground across from the volleyball and basketball courts. Some of the playgrounds had retro equipment, which we liked, but the seats were very low and sometimes squeaky. The climbers and bouncers were a hit and the young ones raced to be the first to try them. We even awarded special stickers to anyone in our group who visited all six playgrounds. Finding the geocache and hiking the trails, playing disc golf, doing archery---it was all a great time!

The cabin was clean and functions well as a sleeping space but not really meant to cook in. This cabin does not come with a mini fridge as listed on the website, but does have an electric heater and small table in addition to a bunk bed and a full sized futon (bring your own bedding). There is also wall electricity. The site itself was plenty spacious and featured a permanent and very nice fire pit and cooking grill. This site was pretty close to the restrooms/showers, which were some of the most clean I've seen at a state park. The smaller lake is within walking distance and Wamplers was a short drive. The smaller lake has a fantastic fishing dock complete with pole holders and picnic tables. It also had plenty of fish! I'm told taking a boat on the lake would be a great experience for fishing. The campground itself was green with plenty of grassy areas and not dusty at all. They also have a camp host that serves complimentary coffee and hot chocolate on weekends, which was a very kind gesture. There is firewood for purchase at the entrance. All in all, would definitely come back. Not crowded, not loud and very clean!
