Dropped in late this afternoon at the Farmers' Market. As soon I saw the sign and the friendly counter staff - for me it was the classic salmon and cream cheese bagel. It took a bit of time in preparation and was served on their Rosemary and Rock Salt bagel. An incredible treat, well worth a little wait for a fresh and delicious lunch item. read more

Very cute and quaint little place in downtown Calgary to get some great Montreal style bagels. I stopped by here for breakfast while visiting a friend in Calgary. I had the lox and cream cheese bagel and it was amazing. It came with some capers and a pickle as well. For a small place all the way out west, they do the Montreal style bagel quite well for a decent price. They have other options which I wish I tried. I definitely left the place full and wanting to come back for more. All the bagels are made in house and you can also buy a pack of them if you'd like! read more

March 2nd. Purchased 6 bagels. The clerk gave me a pre-bagged group as opposed to pulling them from their open bins. I mentioned this & clerk said it was to make things go quicker. Got home to discover a sticker on the bag that said "packaged on Feb 27". I presumed they would still be "fresh" as opposed to frozen/thawed week old bagels. BE CAUTIOUS buying from this vendor. read more

#111 Hungry late Superbowl Sunday and at the Calgary Farmers' Market. What to eat? With so many good choices, I decided to give Wayne's Bagels a try. The lady was friendly for sure. She even free samples! After 5 minutes of pondering, I chose the Tuna Melt on an onion bagel (you choose your own bagel such as plain, onion, blueberry, cranberry, etc.). It comes with tuna salad and melted cheddar cheese. Simply put, simply delicious! I want to try the blueberry bagel next but they do not have strawberry cream cheese (they do have Winnipeg cream cheese though). Would love to see more beverage choices and more options for cream cheese. Next trip, it is the Egg Mac Bagel. See attached photo of the menu; prices may vary. read more

Terrible at the West Farmers Market. The bagel was dry, the hollandaise sauce was the worse. I think she microwaved it. We waited 35 minutes for a eggs benny and it was not edible. Should have asked for our money back. They should not be serving hot food. The lady preparing the food has a terrible attitude and I would to if I had to prepare orders in a 2 x 2 space with a microwave. Will not be going back. It is a shame with a new Farmers Market to have such poor service and quality of food. read more

This morning I ordered a plain toasted buttered bagel - seemed like a safe bet. I was surprised at how quickly she toasted it, but when she handed it to me it was warm, so I went with it. It was not toasted, just warmed. It was terrible, not a good texture - doughy and unpleasant. I have had better bagels from a store package. I took a few bites and then tossed it - yuck. read more

Served us raw bacon which was warmed up in the microwave!! Note that I have ate here before when the bagel was great. Just keep an eye on their preparation practices. read more

Picked up another dozen recently. Not thrilled that when I pay with a card, they hit you up for a tip...especially since the customer service is poor...girl working there seemed like she couldn't care less when I made an inquiry about ingredients (due to food allergy). Will now go elsewhere for better service read more

There was a sign warning customers that bagels may take 10 minutes to prepare since everything is made-to-order. Worth the wait though!

Compared to what I received on previous visits, it was much smaller while the price stayed the same. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that we felt we were treated differently from other customers. We are not German, and although I can't know the reason, the unusually small slice left us feeling unwelcome. I have enjoyed this bakery in the past, but after this experience I don't think I'll be returning. I hope the bakery treats every customer fairly and serves consistent portion sizes regardless of who they are.
