On Monday morning, my friend backed my car into our garage door causing it to be inoperable. It would not go up nor down. I am mediately had a meltdown. The first conscious thought I had was calling the homeowners insurance company which I did. They got involved and advised me that there would be a depreciation involved and I would be coming out of pocket quite a bit. In the meantime, I called Wayne's overhead door and Anderson to see if they could at least come out and remove the damaged door so that we could get the car out. I talked to a very friendly young lady, and then a very friendly young man, and they assured me that they would come out and take care of it. They got here about 45 minutes later. The young man who was here along with his partner, said they would be a while, and that they would come to the door when they were through. I heard a knock on the back door in the garage and opened the door to hear the man say well we have it repaired. Do you have it repaired? Holy cow. You have it repaired? How did you do that. He said it wasn't as bad as it looked, and that a lot of doors are able to be repaired. When I asked him how much it was going to cost he $135. I could not believe it. I was prepared to be out as much as $1500 if not more and this gentleman just told me that he solved my problem for $135. I don't know that I will ever need overhead door service again in my life but you can rest assured if I do, this is the company I will be calling. These guys could have told me that my door was shot and that I had to have a new one. They could have taken advantage of me. They didn't. They are upstanding businessman, and I admire them. I will never call anyone else for overhead door service again. These guys are the absolute greatest. read more

zero stars!! This situation involving an African American family is deeply concerning. Two employees were recorded making racist remarks while on a customer's property. The company's response focuses on whether the employees "knew" the homeowner, which completely misses the point. Racist language is unacceptable--period. It doesn't become acceptable just because someone isn't present or identified. This is not just about poor judgment--it reflects a breakdown in professionalism and accountability. Sensitivity training after the fact does not undo behavior that should never have happened in the first place. Companies are responsible for the people they send into customers' homes. Based on this, I would not trust this company to uphold basic standards of respect. read more

I had wonderful service when they came to repair my gate opener. They were on time and were very professional as well as friendly. Dolan, the manager, facilitated the repair in a very timely manner. Repair man called and left a message that he would be at my house after stopping to make another repair that would take approximately one hour. Never showed up. When I called to find out the reason for the delay, the person at the shop told me that I had not called back. The repair man who called did not say in his message that I needed to call back. Very poor customer service. I won't use this company again!! This company was reliable and customer friendly, but not any more!! read more

Service person was respectful and mannerly but management was rude and disrespectful. I had to pay money upfront so they would order a part which would take 3 to 4 days to arrive. Including the weekend I would wait about a week. I had them order the part and paid the money upfront but immediately checked to see if someone else had the part in stock. I found someone within minutes who had the part and could fix the problem the next day. When I called to cancel the order I told them I had also canceled the check for the part. They wanted my money anyway for the service which I did not receive. He said that I was going behind his back, as though we were dating or something. LOL He then slammed the phone down. Called on Monday, said they would be out "after lunch on Tuesday! Tuesday they called at 3:15 and said they would be there at 4. i wasn't going to be home. I said I thought "after lunch would be 1 or 2. Said he would call in the morning to reschedule. Never did. Called again on Wed. Again he called and said he would be there in the afternoon. No show. Called on Thursday and asked the secretary if they really wanted my business. She said yes. John called me that night and asked if I would be home between 8-8:30 in the morning, I said yes. He said he would call to schedule for Friday afternoon. No call. I tried to "shop local" but waited a week and got nothing from them. Called Elite Overhead in Simpsonville. Only will deal with them. Professional business. Thought I needed weather stripping all the way around my two doors including the bottoms. The guy came out and said only the bottom seals were needed at this time. This is why I will only deal with Wayne's. They treat customers right. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. My contractor and I told them we wanted solar gate openers for two gates as a "pull system". I wound up with an industrial two-motor set for a push system. One computer board was faulty. It took months to get a replacement which was the wrong board then more time to get the correct board for solar power. A $5700.00 system, didn't have a sensor for outgoing cars in the "kits" I was sold. No help from the store. They kept telling me they warned me about solar systems and I should have gone electric. There is no electricity at the end of a 650-foot driveway but they were glad to over-sell a highly expensive system I didn't need. Found a second contractor who went to Tractor Supply, bought a wireless Mule system, and added a sensor. The total was $1700.00 plus $140.00 for a sensor. The man felt so badly for how I was taken by this company that he charged me for 10 hours of labor, not the actual time he worked and now I have a functioning system. The remaining motor that did work will be sold to an HOA that needs a replacement motor for the rest of his labor. For the same amount for just the motors Wayne's sold I have new gates (someone bent one of my gates but that's another story) and a working system. Even during our four days of rain, the new system worked. People who take advantage of those who rely on business expertise are bad businessmen and deserve that the truth be told. Widow walks in with a young inexperienced contractor and they saw dollar signs. They sure were nice but they sure took advantage of me. read more
