We found out about Gary Benner on the Next Door App. Due to recent changes in our backyard…read morelandscape due to pool and tree removal followed by a year of excessive rain we sought estimates for hardscaping. Gary came in with the best estimate, but that was not the only reason we knew he was the guy for the job. When he came to our home he really listened to our concerns. He readily recognized some drainage issues and was sure to address them in our plan/estimate. His team (Jason, Tyler, and one other young man) was hardworking and focused despite challenges with rain and mud. Gary was onsite every day to address any of our questions. We had full trust and they did not disappoint. Upon completion of the job they cleaned our deck and driveway. We will be utilizing his team for more sod. He uses Eagle Bay pavers for his hardscaping. Looking forward to enjoying our beautiful new outdoor space!

As I'm trying to figure out how to continue caring for my lawn I realized I never wrote a review…read morefor this company. I was needing to get my front lawn redone. Yelp pointed me here. I called up Gary and he told me my options after his initial inspection. I have 1400sq/ft. I wanted sod so we talked grass species. I decided on Tall Fescue and he gave me a window for install. That happened mid February. He and his guys showed up at 7am and were done by 11ish. Quick, professional, and clean. Posted are before and after pics. I know they do landscaping also but I did that myself. It's now end of july and the grass is looking great. Some dry and dead spots but that's no fault of his. That's where I'm doing my research on how to save it.

One, he didn't level the ground/grated away from my house. Just filled in the dirt. So it's lumpy. Second, you're supposed to overlap the fabric at least 6 in which he didn't do! So now I have stuff growing in between there. Three, he didn't use enough marble! So now I have bare spots! It's pretty bad. The price was all right. He did leave an extra yard of dirt for me which was actually really helpful! I was able to fill in some holes in my yard. That I appreciated. But overall, I wouldn't hire him again. It was crappy fabric so now I've got tons of weeds growing up through the fabric! To be honest, I did a better job putting down fabric and rock around my generator then he did! Maybe does a great job cutting grass but I wouldn't hire him to put down fabric and rock.

Our front bed was overgrown with ivy, bulbs, and old bushes so they tore everything out so we could start with a fresh garden bed. They also laid sod down to decrease the size of the larger bed which has grown into the existing lawn nicely. In the back yard, they tore up old sod and created a new flower bed along the fence line that will be a pollinator garden. All the work done was completed on time, on schedule and with excellent job clean-up within the quoted budget amount. We are EXTREMELY satisfied with Harris Landscapes' high-quality work and have already recommended them to friends!

Multiple requests for additional services went unanswered so we gave up on that, and settled for the basic services we were already receiving. However, when this company changed to MJ's maybe 1 year and a half ago, We received no notice until they needed to update our card info for payment. Multiple times I reached out utilizing both email and telephone but only received a few emails here and there requesting me to give our card info over an email which I was not going to do. While I couldn't reach anyone our card was still being charged the correct price weekly so I wrote it off and continued with my life. Fast forward to today in 2021, I receive a call from Nikkie who claims we owed around $200 and they will not be coming by to manicure the lawn until it is paid. She told me she needed the card info updated and supposedly has been trying to reach us. I'm curious as to how and when they tried to reach me because they obviously have the number since she called all of a sudden. The big bill was chalked up to them just cutting my lawn without receiving payment which is odd because like I said, no one has ever attempted to reach me until now. Now that money is owed, someone can answer my emails but not calls, hounding me for our card info. But while charges were reoccurring with no payment no one was concerned. Now I am forced to pay this big bill and in the mean time deal with a messy unkept lawn. This has placed me in a inconvenient position and I hate that. As if I'm not stressed enough dealing with a deployed husband ugh!
