Here's a person to run away from. Dan was hired to refinish a small conference table in my office…read more The deal was to sand off the finish, fill in any nicks, fine sand to smooth out, reapply finish for high gloss finish. He worked on the project for parts of 3 days. Finish was stripped, sanded, Dan said he was almost done, would come back the next day to finish it up and for final inspection. So, could I pay him? My mistake - I paid him $542, and he's not been back. That was in the month of March. The finish is dull, and for some reason, the wood has several white splotches scattered around the top. After several excuses as to why he can't get back to finish, he went totally dark on me. No contact at all since the month of April. i reached out again last week with no response. i guess I need to find another service to clean up the mess and finish the work. As stated earlier, run away from this service.

We used The Finishing Company to repair our stairs and replace the wood balusters with iron ones. I…read morefound the company through all of the excellent reviews left on AngiesList. Brian was very easy to communicate with and took care of ordering all of the supplies. They came by the following week and completed the install as scheduled. They were very tidy using drop cloths on the carpet and cleaned up after themselves; unlike a lot of handymen/ contractors. Our staircase not only looks better, but is as solid as a rock and not all wobbly like it was before. The price was fair and I would highly recommend using them for staircase work or any other carpentry projects, such as molding or built-in's. I have uploaded a before and after pic to this review.

Well fast forward almost a year later and now there is a baby in the house that is ready to move. In my childproofing quest, I told my husband that now is the time to get the stair handrail fixed. He found The Finishing Company. We advised Brian why rods we would like and that our stairwell was loose. Brian said no problem. We got our stair handrail fixed and new rods added in less than five hours. It is such an improvement. Brian is meticulous. He made sure to vacuum up dust every little step along the way. Now when I come home, I get to not only see a beautifully staircase but I feel a great piece of mind that the stair handrail is sturdy enough for once my baby is mobile.
